Poker's fun. We've had an informal group that has been playing once a month for 20 years. A simple nickel, dime, quarter game, with no wild cards. Straight poker. We rotate houses, and it's the host's responsibility to provide snacks and beer for the night. Great fun, and no one gets hurt financially.

It really is a lot simpler than some people make it out to be, if you know someone who plays just ask them to explain it to you and you should be able to pick it up fairly quickly

I have to agree on this one. I know friends who lost cars and houses due to gambling.

I play Hold'em all the time. I play online a lot on Poker Stars. I like playing on there because I can use play money and play all day without losing aynthing except time.

Gambling is only bad if you go over the top like the people you are talking about, I would personally never even think of gambling a car or a house, in my eyes anyone who would risk so much money on luck is a fool, unless it is someone with a wallet the same size as Bill Gate's, they could afford to gamble that much lol

Good for you, you'll enjoy it. We look forward to the monthly poker nights. Do stay away from wild card games, they take away the skill of the game, and get in the way of idle chitchat, which is one of the biggest reasons our game has lasted so long.

Yes , i play all the time i supplement my income with it. It is not gambling it's a game of skill. I have been playing on line for about 5 years and have won many tournaments in that time. There is no greater thrill than winning. Those that do play will recognize my name as i use it everywhere.
