Default Do you like study languages?

I was born in South Korea, In my childhood I never have chance to meet other language. So only Korean language is my only first language. In middle school I first met with English, but I hate English class at that time, because I hate to memory many words what I met first, and Pronounce of English is very hard to listen. I can't hear nothing when I heard English from study tape. It seems like alien language to me.

When I was prepare university test, I met Esperanto by chance which is construct language which made by Doctor Zamenhof, It was so interesting to me and It gave to me interest to study other languages. But it's very hard to study, because I never studied any language eagerly before, I was always studied language for good at test before that time.

Now I can speak not only Korean language, but also Esperanto, Japanese and, English what I'm using now. (I'm good at not every languages) And I like study language now.

So, do you like study languages?

My mother tongue is German. I started to learn English at school in the fifth grade (of 13). At the beginning it was quite frustrating to learn a foreign language because I didn't see any progress in understanding English television or music. But as time passed by my English improved. I started to learn French in the seventh grade and it was even more frustrating than learning English because of its difficult grammar. We always were told a story by our French teacher saying that there would be competitions in France to find the best French-speaking person. The winner would usually not be able to speak perfect French, either. You can imagine how motivated we've been to learn this language
Today I am able to understand English almost perfectly. Although I still have difficulties in speaking and writing because I never had the chance to use this language in detail. I mean, I've never been to an English speaking country. Even though I use the internet and happen to meet some Englishmen, I'm never forced to use this language for a longer time. For this reason I hope to be able to study a semester in England in the future.
Although I'm not yet satisfied with my abilities in speaking foreign languages, I must admit that it's great to be able to communicate with people from around the world and get to know other cultures.
I also prefer to see English/American films in English and enjoy authentic conversations (dialogues translated into German can be enormously frustrating ). So.. "I like to study languages."

I love learning languages. I'm an English speaker since birth.

My Moroccan Darija (an Arabic dialect) is pretty good.

I speak passable basic Spanish.

With Modern Standard Arabic I do okay.

I also know a little French.

When I was in school the only choice was Spanish but I had no desire to learn another language anyway. Now there is Spanish, French, German and Mandarin being taught in the public schools here.

There are three Christian universities here and between them you can learn Hebrew, Greek, Latin and Arabic. Now these I would like to learn but the cost is out of my price range.

I admire people who can speak multiple languages. Personally, I have a tin ear for new languages. I can repeat a word all day long, and when I get up the next morning, I can't remember what it was.

I have to use a word three times in context before it really sticks. Fortunately, I will talk to anyone about anything and tend to make friends very easily. Language usage and accents are my strong points (I'm also a musician, which helps with tones and sounds), book learning is my weak spot.

Really? I think it's very hard to learn Mandarin and Japanese. Because you need to memory Chinese characters at least few thousands and must know how to pronounce them.

My native tongues are German and Italian which I do speak and write fluently.

I also speak french and luxemburgian almost fluently but suck when it comes to write stuff.

I did study in the US for 2 years so my English is okay but I'm kind of specialised on mathematical and physical terms.

I was laughed at because of my british accent -.-

Oh and I'm learning 日本語 right know in order to move there in about 2 years.

I strongly agree with you. My mother tongue is Korean.Speaking and listen in English was very hard to me when I start to learn English.

When I start to learn chinese, pronunciation is doesn't matter because it's similar to pronounce with Korean, What I need to study more is about tone, there are no tone in Korean language, But I can learn tone easily. The most hard thing in learn the language is how to memory thousands of Chinese characters.
