Hi all, i am very much new to this site, was referred by a friend who said this was a great site for questions/answers on pretty much anything computer related.

Welcome to the social forums. Well, most of us here are probably computer-savvy(since many of us are from Ubuntuforums) so we could help you out with your problem. Don't forget to create it in the right section of the forum.
