Default Oldskool LAN-games

Any suggestions for games to play at an oldskool LAN-party?

These are what I have until now:
  • Unreal Tournament (GOTY)
  • Delta Force 1
  • Age of Empire II
  • Counter-Strike 1.5 (or perhaps 1.6)
  • ...

How about Doom with a couple of mods, classic C&C or Dune even? or am I showing my age?

Quake 2 is still a classic as well!

My favorites:

- Starcraft: Broodwar
(and still is my favorite LAN-game)
- Action Quake II
(still going strong, much better than any other FPS)

My number one choice. Loads of fun, and you have to really think, to avoid getting your ass kicked.

My favorite LAN game was Homeworld, i don't think i've ever played something that i liked that much.

Of course Half-life, CS and Jedi Knight (the first one) was fun too!

Quake 2 is indeed a great classic LAN game. If you're looking for an RTS, starcraft would definitely be the most popular option. Although, if you'd like something more classic, you could try the original AoE, Warcraft, or (more slow-paced) Settlers 2. Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (and 3) are also great Turn-Based strategy games.

Half Life 2 - Death Match is a great game for LAN parties.

A great way of having a laugh especially if some of the players are not regular gamers is to play coop. This way the you can all have fun without the difference in skill level getting in the way.

One of the best is Sevn Coop a half life mod. You can all run through the single player levels of half life with your mates.

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds

It's Age of Empires 2, but with everything Star Wars instead of the middle ages.
