| Commentator | EVE Online 14 Day Trial. No plastic needed. This is, imo, the greatest f***ing MMO. Evar. Think of something you have wanted to do in past MMO's but were unable to because of some kind of game made limitation. Now, beat the game limitation with a baseball bat. That is EVE. Open ended as hell. You can do whatever you want. There are no classes, no attunements, no need to do quests. It is fun. I would play it again in a second if my money (and people I know) were not still infatuated in WoW. I have less then two months on my WoW account. I think this is going to be my next game. |

Good luck. I played Eve from day one, for two years. Left the game for a bit, went back for a few months and now thats it for me. Its ok, graphically stunning, but its still a grind - it just hides it behind the fact that there are no classes as such. You need money though, and thats where the grind is. It used to be a great game - open, violent, player-lead, it actually felt dangerous. Then it was nerfed to hell by the devs and its not the same game. Piracy is dead, PvP is limited to massive blobwars between bloated alliances... its a shadow of the game it used to be. I guess though, if you've been playing crap like WoW, Eve is a breath of fresh air, but it could have been so much better. Why can't someone just produce a MMO that is pvp, unrestricted and unsharded? How hard can it be?

Yeah, I just dont get the appeal of consensual pvp and endless "lets kill loads of npc's for some crappy objects" missions. Especially if it involves elves and faeries. We need more space MMO games. Good ones.

I play Eve, been playing on and off since 2004ish i think. In a small corp atm, but not been on-line much recently with holidays and work. Hehe, I play WoW too, and I like both games, rather than one or the other, but either one can suck your life away if you get really hooked ![]() Matt

I was on EVE strong for a while and then due to a lack of money I couldnt keep playing it, then I went back and I'm in the same situation that I was in, it just didn't seem like a good investment anymore. However, I do really like the open endedness, espically the OPTION to do missions or not, if you want to do something else thats fine... I don't know though, I'm sure I'll get back into it, it really is a stunning game.
