Dragon's Exodus ds.mumagic.com:1234 If anyone is looking for a MUD client, I've actually written a pretty decent one for Linux. If someone is interested, I'll post it on my website. | |

| Eligible for a custom title | Not unless the solo version counts. I still play the Hitchhiker's Guide game. I love that white on blue command line stuff. Makes me feel safe and warm and fondly remember my childhood. (The game itself is a year or so older than I am, as was my first computer: an IBM PC-XT.) |

| I used to play them a lot, the original MUD, Shades, Dutch Mountains, and some at Uni. My mate is still well into them, he has dutch mountains running on his linux box, and has also done a lot of stuff with shades. I recently got interested in building my own, i was curious how the parser works on a good game and started researching it and playing around, just ran out of time after a while, i might pick it up again at some point. If you're interested... here are some interesting articles on parsers and lexical analysis written by Richard Bartle, one of the guys who wrote the original MUD... | Nah... MUD are so 20th century ![]() Seriously though, I did go to an older friend once, and he was playing this MUD. He was very hooked in it, while I couldn't make out anything of the printed text ![]() Extreme Coder |
