Recently I received an invitation to drop back in and check out these forums. Over the last couple of weeks I've enjoyed posting here and engaging in some interesting and at time zealous conversations. I'd make no secret that the reason for dropping back in was the change in ownership of the forums and subsequent break from Ubuntuforums.

Unfortunately for me a quick look over the current mods shows me 4 present or past admin/staff members of Ubuntuforums and this I find difficult to deal with on a personal level. So for now I think I'll just wish you all the best and sign off to greener pastures.

I'm sorry to read of your decision to leave the forums.

Looking at the staff list, I think there might be two with moderator experience at UF, and I'm not even sure of that. I'll have to check.

Many members here, like myself, came from UF with the invitation that you also received, but I was just a member there, like most here.

You are welcome to return here anytime you'd like. Take care.

Checking, I see that three of the current staff, out of a total of eight, are moderators on UF.

Iandefor is an ex-staffer at UF and Edward(Vorian) is an Admin, not a mod.

hmm? Vorian's name is Stephen and not Edward.

Sorry I'm so late replying to this thread as I've had rather a busy day

I regret you feel that way as the moderators were not chosen for their history on UF. As this forum was tied to UF until very recently most of the current members have some history.

Neither sdkub nor myself have any UF history. Neither would we tolerate any moderator who tried to bring UF history into play in their decisions on this forum.

The new forum rules are very simple and not very onerous so I don't anticipate any major problems in this area.

If you or any other member had reason to believe they were being unfairly treated because of their history with UF then a PM to myself or sdkub would be in order.

As this forum grows there will be many new members who have no ties to UF and accordingly further moderators will be appointed.

These are very early days for this forum and all I would ask is that you give it a chance.

I'm happy to listen to any concerns expressed by members of this forum. You are welcome to send a PM to myself or sdkub at any time to express them.

OK Mary, I'll give it a go. As I said above my issues run at a personal level with UF and its staff and have nothing to do with the way these forums are run overall, which I must say are excellent

Besides which, I miss those damn forum games too much
