| I have a complaint re the moderator compiledkernel. Today after a vigourous debate in a thread he contacted me privately by email in an attempt to further inflame the situation. I clearly have my options set only for Admins to contact me my by email and can only presume that he obtained my details from the modcp control panel and used them against my wishes. Could this not occur again in the future please? |

| I'm logged in all the time. Same with several other forums, including the Ubuntu forums. Edit: Though I prefer running "stealth" as you say, I'll be using the regular mode from now on. If I'm listed in the active users list, I won't be far away. Last edited by OrangeCrate : 08-05-2007 at 05:20 PM. |

| Yet more controversy surrounding compiledkernel. Why does this not surprise me? ![]() |

It does seem odd that a mod would be emailing someone to continue a debate or whatever. This is why I have said in the past that mods should sort of take a step back or reel it in on the more vigorous debates.

As it stands in my final attempt at fixing an already far damaged relationship , that between nayaman and myself was a very strong friendship at one time, Yes I made contact of the user during the already heated automatix thread. I was already aware of his identity , far before I ever sent an email to him. As such I had no idea what email address he used to register here so I used the last formal address I had for him, in this case it obviously worked. If any "covert" action was sought or felt by me, then to those whom I consider it such , I apologize. For those who wish to see otherwise, then yes. Effective immediately to these forums I post my resignation, unless otherwise felt such. As a request upon acceptance of said resignation, I would ask that nayaman take my place as a moderator here. I speak that in no uncertain terms, nor in any terms that is otherwise considered anything but generous and kind on my part, because its both on both counts. Call it a last wish for my time spent here. Surely Nayaman can appreciate that.

| Hi Compiledkernel We would rather not accept your resignation and would ask you to reconsider this. Please take a couple of days to think about this and let us know. Feel free to contact me at any time. Mary |

| I can only add that I have never used the member name on this forum that compiledkernel used to refer to me as in the thread in mention. It seemed strange to me that he would be aware of it without checking my account which at the time had my old email address on it. If I have mistakenly misread the situation then I apologise. I don't want anyone to resign over this. I just want my privacy respected. edit: to compiledkernel, It is true that I have issues with the way you vigorously attack Automatix on a regular basis, however, I think we have said all that needs to be said to each other on this one and I can respect your position if you can respect mine. I'd like to hold out the hand of friendship again if you will accept it. narayan Last edited by narayan : 08-06-2007 at 03:43 AM. |

| I'd like to add that after some discussion, compiledkernel and I have buried the hatchett in regard to all this mess. There are issues from long ago at Ubuntuforums that obviosly still push my buttons and it was very wrong of me to drag them up in this forum. I offer my apologies to the entire community for doing so and hope that compiledkernel changes his mind about resigning. om shanti narayan |
