There are some exciting changes in the works!

For starters, our forums have a new name, "JoinDiscussion.com." Watch for new graphics, and a new logo. Please be sure to update your bookmarks from socialdiscussion.com to joindiscussion.com as soon as possible so you don't miss any of the fun.

I will post notes in this thread from time to time in the next few days and weeks with updates on the changes as they happen, get tested, and are then finalized. I will also start a thread for discussion of the changes so that we can hear your thoughts and get your input.

What is causing all this? Well, the forums have been sold. Don't worry, we aren't going anywhere, but things will change a little bit here and there. None of the staff have changed, and we have no plans to make any staff changes at this point. We do have one new admin, sdkub, who you may see around occasionally. His main focus will be behind the scenes.

Just to give you a little bit of a "heads up" as to what to expect, here's a list of items that are slated for some adjustments. We plan to:

simplify the category listings a bit
focus primarily on providing a place for discussions, both serious and fun
change the forum skin a little and
create a menu, with list of all available forums accessible from all pages

Other modifications and adjustments may follow soon as well. I'll keep you posted.
