Default FF very slow on SD

I hope someone can help me with this because it's been going on for weeks and is getting on my nerves.

When 2 of the sites' pages you visit most -SD and UF - (and ONLY these 2 sites) load 2 to 3 times slower than any other site...well how could this happen?

I've tried different kernels, even compiled one...to no avail.

Hmm, no problem here (Epiphany).
Have you tried to clear the cache? Any extension?

I know this sounds crazy...I'm beginning to believe in ghosts!!

Cache's fine; barely 15 bookmarks, no extensions.
I guess I'll just have to try another browser.
Still this is quite strange.

Unfortunately no improvement.

I even use the command line:
Code:
shred -fuzv
to get rid of the cache.

I have to head to work, but once I get there I'll do some testing. I can't seem to reproduce it.. Could you do a traceroute to socialdiscussion.com and post it?

I would assume you've already tried this since you've tried compiling the kernel, but have you tried the tweaks for FF?: Speed Up Firefox

I would use a slightly higher value for the initial paint delay though (100-150). Having to redraw the page over again is often slower than just drawing it when enough information is in.

There's some others too but I can't remember them off the top of my head nor can I find an instruction page for it....

So you don't get slowdowns when you visit other larger vBulletin forums?

Also, something I found interesting is that you have a lot of lag to your network, which uses a 10. address instead of 192.168. that I usually see on home networks: 5/41/16 min/max/avg *shrug*
I really need to work on more networks. I'm horrible setting up/fixing wireless connections and certain routing issues

I think about:config is OK and "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and is set to "0". I tried uploading a screeshot ot it but it failed.
Also tried Epiphany...not much difference.

If you are trying out an alternative browser, give Opera a try. It's blazing fast
