Just now I tried to open a thread ( http://socialdiscussion.com/faq-howt...-new-post.html ) which was listed under as the last post of Computers & Internet > Faq & howtos and I got the following error message :

DCboI, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page.
- Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
- If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

What's up with this message ? I've seen anything like this before.

i think it's a spam thread that has been removed.
that's probably the reason you can't post in it.

Exactly. Its in the jail.
There's a thing to tune with the "remove redirects" option
that needs little work from brandx, you should not even see the thread title

How is spam filtering done in degrassi ? Does the moderators handpick the spam threads or the system itself remove it automatically? Just curious

Either staff spots spam or it gets reported (have you noticed the "report" flag close to the online/offline status?).
It gets removed by hand, ie moved to the jail sub-forum, non readable by google bots, and the account gets banned (so no more spam will come from this account).

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering where to post this thread.

BTW, "Forum Feedback & Help" is not an apt sub category for " Life & General Discussion". IMO, it should be put up as main category by itself(makes it easier to spot)
