Default Olive Garden

Ok..watch out here..was there..watched in horror and presumeably thought what I saw could be reality..

You know how they serve you a salad bowl and you upon your own desire fill your salad bowl from the entree, well two waiters began to converse as they took off the table the main bowl salad, our main bowl salad left overs.. then suddenly..the one waiter picked up the bowl, mixed it with another bowl from another table and if one was to look at it,,who would know the difference as if it was not a fresh bowl served..

Now..did they dispose of it when it was sent to the back? the salad? or did they just do a quick toss and serve the left overs again? I tell you it was like clockwork watching these two do their thing..so just beware..as I love the Olive Garden, but how far will they go to preserve money there with the salads..who knows? I am however going to give them a call...

What do you expect from chain restaurants? This isn't nearly as gross as chicken mcnuggets though.

I say, only eat what you cooked yourself or in a restaurant where you know the staff, while mixing those leftover won't kill you, they lie to the customers.

I might not even have a problem eating leftovers IF I WAS TOLD that they are leftovers.

I agree on all counts. Did you say something to the manager?

Hi Ras..
I havent called yet..but gross me out..I dont want to eat what was on several other tables..I mean I want it fresh..its bad enough that other poeple are talking..spitting across the table as they talk..cough..and then maybe some of them throw the salad back in the bowl from their own bowl..gag a maggot..I realize this to can happen in the back..but not nearly as bad as table to table..I dont want to use utensils that have not been sterilized in a dishwasher first. That should be the case with each delivery of the salad food bowl..that too probably is not the case. Well, I do eat at home because of these issues..still grosses me out,

Hi MRiGnS
Chicken Mcnuggets you say? EL BARRFO...
Thats probably the left over meat on the barn floor after slaughtering the chickens, if that stuff is chicken. Reminds me of shrimp thats cheap and strewn into a box..its the left over stepped on shrimp in the fishermens boat..they just doe it together..

I'd bet if you were the manager or owner of that establishment, and your employees were doing things like this to your customers, your business, and your livlihood, you'd want to know eh? I'm not here to tell you what to do, but if it were me, I'd apply the golden rule and do for the owner what I'd hope someone would do for me.

This is why if I get bad service somewhere I let someone know. What you tolerate today (and by only talking about it here instead of with those who can do something about it you are tolerating it) ...what you tolerate today, becomes the standard tomorrow.

Now if you notify the guy and he tells you to pack sand, then send a email to the newspaper telling them what you saw. Scream about it from the rooftops.

Hi Ras..
Good idea..I haven't had a moments peace since Monday to make the call..so if I get off work early tomorrow I am going to call. I dont want to rag on anyone but someone has to be sure that no hanky panky is happening..

This is why I decided not to become incorporated into the employment I now do..cant trust anyone..tried it for a short time and it just didnt work.

Olive Garden is NOT like what it used to be.

I'd rather go into a local well-known Italian restaurant like Polcari's for Italian cuisine! The variety and choices of fine Italian dishes are much better here.

DE, if those waiters did what you've suspected they might have done, then that is totally and utterly wrong for the following reasons;

1. It's not Serve-Safe. That's not within the requirements and regulations of the local State Health Dept..

2. Anyone who served themselves from either or both of those two salad bowls could have a cold or other contageous illness.

3. Any open food or item that is brought to your table, regardless if it was eaten or not, must be discarded immediately when the party is done with it.

4. Saving money or not, this practice is just not acceptable, should not be tolerated or allowed, and it should be immediately reported to management!!!

5. It can set the wheels in motion for a big lawsuit - costing the co. millions of dollars. Not to memntion the embarrassment and humiliation that they would suffer from widespread publicity should something like this get out to the public, which in all probability, it would!

6. I don't eat at any of those outlets anyway, but thanks for the headsup.

7. I will warn friends and relatives about that.
