| Hsa anyone ever tried this? Since Thanksgiving is a few days away, I thought that I'd try to find out how everyone plans to cook their turkeys this year. I was introduced to deep-fried turkey several years ago while visiting one of my brothers in SC several years ago. He told me about it. In fact, he was making one that weekend. He had me try some, and I thought that it was the best way to cook turkey! To me, turkey never tasted so good!! I did it once in my electric turkey frier, but I think only peatnut oil can be used, and it's very expensive, ans also, a lot of it is needed. The turkey, however, REALLY DOES taste oh, so good!! ![]() |

| Also, there's another way to cook turkey. It's called a turducken. The turkey's bones and rib cage are removeed except in the wings and legs and is spread out on a flat surface, some stuffing is added, then a deboned duck is place on that, then more stuffing, then a deboned chicken is placed on that. Stuffing on top. Then the whole thing is closed up and the top part (breast) is sewed together, as if finishing a surgery. The turducken is then seasoned and placed in a roasting pan and into the oven. Depending on the size, it can take up to about 13 hours to roast, and it has to be done slow so that it all cooks evenly. So an overnight roasting is definitely in order. I would do that though, unless it was being done for a party. |
