* The story starts in the summer of 2002 to Jan of 2004 (Season two and begin of season three). And it's the first prequel to Emma, Manny, Alex and Mia Degrassi gymnastics stars.

Chapter one: The Reason Alex Nunez's move to Toronto!

Its June 1, 2002 Alex is setting on a bench that is outside of the apartment building that Emily (her mom), Chad's (Mom's boyfriend) and she is moving into. She has her left leg up on the bench and has an ice pack on her ankle and knee. She is also, watching and listens to her mom and Chad carry boxes out of both of their trucks and into the build. I know that Chad is mad at me for set on the bench and not helping carry the boxes up to the apartment on the fourth floor of the building. But it's not like I can carry boxes seeing that I am on crutch, because of a dislocation left ankle and knee. Along with having bruises my tendons and ligament in my ankle and knee.

Chad: Alex should be helping us, not set on the bench watch us! It's bad enough that we had to move here from Ajax, because she could not handle going to the same school or to practice's gymnastics at the same gym as that David guy.

Emily: Would you want to live in the same town as someone that try to rape you?

Chad: Ok, I get that, but not helping to pack the trucks up to move here or to carrying the box in is not fair, just because she injury should not get her out of help us.

Emily: She helped Chad, she packed all her staff into boxes and she will unpack her boxes and put her things away. After you have carried them into her bedroom and set her bed up.

Chad: She should have to carry her boxes upstairs to the apartment on her own!

Emily: How do you what Alex's to help carrying her boxes?

Chad: She could carry the box upstairs by hop up the stairs on her good leg!

Emily: That stupid Chad, she could hurt herself worse.

Chad: She should have not got hurt in the first place. I suppose she is going to use be injury as a reason to get out of found a weekend job too?

Emily: We have not even been in Toronto for a day and you want here to get a job already?

Chad: Yes

Emily: It's not like we have family in town that will hire a fourteen- year -old, like we did in Ajax. She could have a problem find a job here. In fact she might not be able to get a job in Toronto till she turns sixteen on April 11, 2004.

Chad: If she goes to Degrassi community school and goes into the office and asks for a work permits and fill then out and then turn them in with the job application. Alex will be able to find a job.

Alex: Fine I will go to the mall and put job application in, I already pick up the permits, when mom took me to visit Degrassi last week.

Chad: Good!

Alex gets up from the bench and grabs her purse that hang across her shoulder and then she grabs her crutches. She then hops down the street and heads to bus stops. She gets onto the first bus that pull up and stops. Alex takes a set in the first seat on the right-hand side of the bus. On the ride to the mall see starts daydream about the day that change her life and made her mom, Chad and her move for the fifth time in two years. It was a Sunday morning on May 19, 2002. Alex heads into the Ajax Gymnastics Center. She walks into the locker room, so she can change into her leotard. After a few minutes she has finish getting dress and lays down on the bench for a few minutes. She close her eyes and put her hands on her stomach and wish it was not upset for the fourth day in a row. She hears someone knocking on the girls locker room door.

David: Are you ready to training Lexi?

Alex: I tell you before don't call me Lexi. Only my mom, her boyfriend, family member and my best friend are allowed to call me by my nickname!

David: Hurry it up in the locker room Alex, you have a lot of time to make up for, seeing that you miss the last two and half days of practices, because you were too sick to get out of bed or to go to school or come to practice.

Alex: I will be out in a few minutes!

David: Ok, you are training bars first.

Alex: Whatever, David. Where is coach Tim?

David: His wife went into labor this morning so, he asks me to come and spot you today.

Alex: Ok

David: I will meet you at the bars.

Alex: All right David!


She set up on the bench and grabs her gym bag off the floor. She stands up and starts head to the door of the locker room. Wishes someone else was here with her and David, because David has always given her the creeps. She open up the locker room door and start walking towards the bars. When she gets over to the bars and David, she set her gym bag on the floor. She then kneels down and gets out her bar grips and puts them on.

David: (As Alex is getting her bar grips on.) So, Alex's did you go and see the doctor and find out what you have?

Alex: I get food poisoning from eaten the school food, plus a touch of the stomach flu.

David: That not good, are you feeling any better?

Alex: No, I am still nausea and would rather be at home in bed asleep.

David: Let get start training then, so you can get the twelve hours of training you need to make up done. So you can go home and go back to bed.

Alex: Ok, lets get starts.

David walks over to the left side of the uneven bars and Alex puts some chalk on her heads then walks over to the bars. She mounts the uneven bars with a Roundoff to an Arabian tuck/pike Salto over the low bar to the high bar. She then does a Clear/Free hipcircle to handstand 3/2, then does a Tkatchev 1/1 to an Endo piked to handstand 1/1. She then does a Full-twisting Pak salto to the low bar, She does a Toe-on to handstand 3/2 to a Inner stalder through handstands with flight to get back to the high bar. She does a tap swing to set up for her dismount. Then goes into her dismount, which is a Flyaway back layout 1/2 into a front layout. She lands the dismount, but stumbles backwards and she is not able to get her feet. David runs over to her a catch Alex before she falls backward into the low bar.

David: Are you ok Alex?

Alex: Yeah, Just dizzy.

David: Go set down on the floor mat and drink some water.

Alex: I am fine with set down and take a break. But I do not want to drink any water, because I will just end up throwing it up.

David: You need to push the fluids. To try and stay hydrate.

Alex: Fine!

She grabs her water bottle out of her gym bag and then walks over to the floor mat. She set down on the floor, she takes a drink of water. Alex then recaps the bottle and set the water bottle on the floor next to her. She then lays down and close her eyes hope that this would stop the room from spinning. She knows that it won't help, she is dizzy from not be able to keep food or water down for four days now. David tip toes quietly over to Alex and pulls his pants and underwear down. He then kneels down over Alex and start take her leotard and underwear off. When she feels David on top of her, she tries to push him off. David push her back down and pouch her in the face.

Alex: Stop

David: No

He starts to rape her and Alex's kicks David in his groin. At the sometime the door to the gymnastics center opens and Coach Tim walks into the center. Tim runs over and pulls David off of Alex's and throws him his jeans. Alex's daydream ends when the bus comes to a stop in front of the mall. She stands up and grabs her crutches, then hops off the bus and into the mall.

Chapter Two: Jay
Jay is set at a table in the food court with his friends Amy, Towerz and they are looking at magazines about cars. When Jay sees a girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes, hop past him on crutch. Jay watches the girl hop over to the movie theater help warrant display and grabs an application form the display. Jay then watches her hop over to the table that the spot over from the table that he, Amy and Towerz are set at. Jay looks across the table at his two friends at then he looks back over at the girl.

Jay: Amy, Towerz’s have either of you saws that girl around town or the mall before?
Amy: No
Towerz: Neither have I she must be new to town.
Jay: Then I should go over to her table, so I can inductions myself to the girl and find out her name.

Jay stands up from his seat and walks over to Alex. He takes a set in the chair next to her and looks at the paperwork she is feeling out. She looks up from the job application she is filling out and looks up at him. She can feel his leg bump up against her left leg and a sharp pain shoot up her leg. She blocks out how much pain it causes her and tries not to cry in front of him.

Jay: Hi I am Jason Hogart, but all mine friends and family call me Jay. What is your name?
Alex: My name is Alex Nunez, Now will you leave me alone so I can finish this job application!
Jay: I leave you alone in a few minutes, will you be going to Degrassi community school and what grade are you going to be in?
Alex: Yes and I will be in the ninth grade.
Jay: Cool that the same grade I will be in. Maybe we will have classes together in the coming up school years.
Alex: I need sometime by myself to finish the application can you leave now.
Jay: Sure, whatever you want Alex.

Jay stands up and walks over to the table that Amy and Towerz are set at. He sets back down and watches Alex fill out the job application. As she is writing you past work experience down she looks out the corner of her right eye and sees that Jay’s is watching her fill out the application. She signs her name on the application and then stands up. She grabs her crutch then picks up the job application and takes her work permits out of her purse. Alex then hops over to the movie theater concession stand and hand her work permits and job application to the managed Merri. The managed points to the Island that has four stools around it and walks over there. Alex fellows her over to the island and their take a set across from eachother.

Merri: So your application says your full name is Alexandra Nunez.
Alex: Yeah, but I would rather be called Alex.
Merri: Ok, Alex’s your application also say that you have worked since you were twelve -year- old. Can you tell me about your job at Joe dinner in Ajax.
Alex: I work as waitress and busgirl there on the weekend and on school holidays. I take the customer orders and then I would bring they orders over to them when they were ready. I also clean the tables and bar counter tops off after the customer’s finishes they orders.
Merri: What did you do to your left knee and left ankle?
Alex: I am on the national gymnastics team. I was practice floor exercise, I was doing a back layout 4/1 twist. I under rotation the skill and dislocations my left ankle and knee.
Merri: How long will you be on the crutch for?
Alex: Till July 1, 2002.
Merri: What the reason you have to get a job?
Alex: Because my moms never finish school, she can only get low paying jobs, my mom is also on welfare. That is way I have to get a job, so I can help pay for gymnastics cost and personally items.
Merri: That a good reason to get a job, When can you start working?
Alex: Tomorrow
Merri: How about your start training next Saturday at ten o’clock in the morning.
Alex: Sure
Merri: Ok, See your next Saturday.
Alex: All right I will see you then Merri.

Merri heads back to work and Alex grabs her crutch and starts to hop towards the main entrance of the mall when Jay, Amy and Towerz’s come walking up along sides her. Alex reaches the door and Jay run over and holds the door open for Alex. She smiles at Jay and walks through the door.

Chapter Three: Degrassi Gymnastics team tryouts!
It is Thursday August.1, 2002 and Alex is wearing a black leotard setting on the gym floor at Degrassi and she is warming up to try out for the gymnastics team. She stands up and starts doing some light tumbling on the floor exercise, to see if she is able to handle some of the harder tumbling or if it is too soon and she should stick to the simple pass for the tryout, since she has only been back in the gym workout lightly for two weeks now. She just sticks a double layout 1/1 twist in a second salto, when she hears people clapping and cheering you nails the move. Alex turns around and sees a large group of girls and One adult woman with Long blonde hair and light brown eyes. All the girls walk over to the floor exercise mat and takes a set and Alex also take a set with the rest of the girls. Mr. Hatzilakos walked up to the edge of the floor exercise mat and stopped at the edge of the mat. She then looks at the large group of girls that have show up to tryout for the gymnastics team for the 2002-2003 school year and know that she is going to have a hard time narrow it down to only fifteen girls.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: All right, lets starts with the new girl Alex Nunez and I want you to do Uneven bars first, then vault, beam and floor last. Also everyone has to stay and watch everyone.
Alex: OK
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Everyone but Alex go take a set in the stands.

Alex stands up and walks over to her gym bag and grabs her uneven bar grips. She then puts the grips on, as she is walking over to the Uneven bars. Everyone else heads over to the stands and set down as Alex is chalking up her hands up, then she walks up to the low bar. Alex mounts the uneven bars with a Roundoff to an Arabian tuck/pike Salto over the low bar to the high bar. She then does a Clear/Free hipcircle to handstand 3/2, then does a Tkatchev 1/1 to an Endo piked to handstand 1/1. She then does a Full-twisting Pak salto to the low bar, She does a Toe-on to handstand 3/2 to an Inner stalder through handstands with flight to get back to the high bar. Mrs. Hatzilakos: (Stops write)That will be a tough act for everyone else too fellow on the uneven bars. What vaults are you going to be doing Alex?
Alex: ( Removing her bar grips.) An Amanar (yurchenko) and a Roche.
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Ok, head on over to the vault and let me see your two vaults then.

Alex walks over to the end of the vault runway. She then chalks up her feet and puts some more chalk on her hands. She starts run down the runway and then does a roundoff to get onto the vault then does a back layout 5/2 off the vault and sticks the dismount. Alex walks back to the end of the runway. She starts running down the runway again and this time does a front handspring onto the vault. Then does a double front tuck off the vault and stick the dismount. After she landed the dismount, she noticed that all the girls, beside two are watching her with wide eyes.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: Alright lets move onto Beam and Paige I want you to start warm up on the sides line.

Alex sees a girl with long blonde hair and Hazel eyes, that is wearing a pink leotard stand up and start warm up as she heads over to the beam. When Alex gets to the beam she rechalks and then mount the beam with a roundoff to the springboard to a two-feet layout to a flip flop swing down 1/1 twist. She then does a backwalk over from a setting position to a 1/4 pirouette. She then does a crossway oversplit with a back arch to a Arabian front tuck, She then does a 5/2 turn in tuckstand with her free leg in a horizontal positions. She then does a flip flop with a 1/1 turn preflight to a double back pike dismount, which she stick cold.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: That was great Alex take a break and lets have Paige do a few of her routines, so you can catch you breath before doing floor.
Alex: Ok
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Paige I want you to do Floor, Beam and Vault then you can take a break while Alex is doing her Floor routine then you can do you uneven bars routines.
Paige: All right.

Alex grabs her water bottle out of her gym bag and then takes a set in the stands next to a girl with long black hair and brown eyes, which just happen to be the other girl who was not watch her with wide eyes. Alex notices the name Manny on the gym bag the girl is going through. After Alex has set down Paige walks up to the edge of the floor mat and step onto the mat. She starts her routine with a Arabian double front 1/2, she then does a 2/1 turn on one leg into a spilt leap 1/2. She then does Arabian forward roll. She then sets up for her next tumbling pass, which is a back layout 3/1, she then does a back roll over to a handstand with a 3/2. Paige then Does a whip back into a gainer layout into a double front 1/2. Then she does a tour jete to a ring leap and does a double front to end her routine. Paige walks over to the beam and puts some chalk on her hands and feet. She then mounts the beam with a roundoff onto the springboard into a back layout stepout onto the beam. She then does a Gainer switch-leg flip flop step out. Paige then does a switch ring leap to a 1/1 illusion turn. She then does a shoulder roll to an arabian front tuck. Paige then gets ready to do her dismount, she does a gainer two-feet layout off the end of the beam and sticks the landed. Paige then goes over to the vault and walks to the end of the runway. She then runs down the runway. She does a 1/2 onto the vault and a 5/2 off the vault and nails the landed. Paige then walks back to the end of the vault runway, she takes a drink of water out of her water bottle that she has carry to each piece of equipment. She then puts more chalk onto her feet and hands then start running down the runway again. She does a 1/2 on and then does a 1/2 front layout off of the vault, but take a tiny step on the landed. She walks over to the end of the runway and grabs her water bottle. She then goes and takes a set in the stands to watch Alex floor routine. Alex stands up, she then walks over to the floor mat and knows that Paige is going to be one of the girls that give her a run for her money. Alex starts her floor routine with a back layout 4/1, she then does a 2/1 turn with her left leg up. She then does a switch leg leap 3/4, she then does a side layout into a punch front and then goes right into a double layout 1/1 twist in a second salto. Alex then does a back roll to a handstand with 2/1 turn. She then does an arabian double front layout to a split leap 11/1 to end her routine. Alex walks back over and takes a set in the stand, as Paige stands up and walks over to the uneven bars putting on her grips. As she is chalk up her hands, she is thinking I am not going to be able to beat the new girl on this event. I am just going to have to try my hardest to stick my uneven bars’ routine. She mounts the uneven bars with a front tuck 1/2 over the low bar to a glide. She then does a cast to a handstand 1/2, to a gilde straddle jam to the high bar. Paige then does a front giant then release the bar to do tucked front. She then does an under swing to pike 1/2 dismount and sticks the landed. Paige then takes a set in the stands and joins Alex in watch the rest of the girl’s tryout for the team. When the tryouts final end at 2:30p.m. Alex runs into the locker room and changes into her work uniform and then runs outsides and catch the bus to head to work.

Chapter Four: Alex first day out Degrassi part one
Alex wakes up to the sounds of her mom and Chad fighting at the two a.m. on Tuesday, September third. She puts her pillow over her head and tries to go back to sleep, but is not able to. She gets out of bed she changes into a leotard and puts a pair of Jeans and a tank top on over the leotard. She then grabs her book bag and gym bag then heads to her morning gymnastics practice. Four and half hours later at seven o’clock Alex walks up the front steps of Degrassi and takes a set on the top steps and wait for Jay, Amy and Towerz to get there. She takes a book out of her book bag and starts to read the book. She is so into the book that she does not hear Jay, Amy or Towerz walk up the steps to the school and only notices them when Jay pulls the book out of Alex hands.

Alex: Hey I was read that Jay!
Jay: So you my girl and I want to kiss you, Lexi.
Alex: Ok

Jay’s lean in and kiss Alex on the lips and Alex kiss Jay back on his lips. Alex grabs her book back from Jay and puts it into her book bag. Then Alex stands up and Jay picks up Alex gym bag and Alex picks up her book bag. Then Alex, Jay, Amy and Towerz head inside and goes to get their locker numbers, combination lock, combinations to unlock the combination lock. The three of them also pick up they class schedules. Jay looks at Alex schedules over her shoulder and sees that she has home first like Amy, Towerz and he all have. The four of them head to their lockers which are all next to eachother in the old section of the school. As Alex was push her gym bag into her locker Hazel, Terri and Paige walk past Jay, Amy and Towerz and A girl with shoulder length brown hair is run after the three girls.

Ashley: Paige I say that I am sorry about what I say at the end of last school year.
Paige: I do not care, we are not friends any more so leave me alone.

With that Hazel, Paige walks away from Ashley and a heavy set girl with light brown hair stays back with Ashley.

Terri: Give Paige so more time Ash.
Ashley: She had three months.
Terri: You know how Paige can be

By now Ashley and Terri have turned the corner and Alex can’t hear them anymore.

Alex: That Paige girl thinks that she rules the schools does she?
Amy: She does, I would keep my distance from her.
Alex: I could beat her up before she could throw a punch at me.

The four of them start laughing and the bell to head to their first hours starts ringing.
