Chapter One: A new mother
It’s the morning of Wednesday, February 15, 2006 and Emma, Sara and Jason have been home now for five days. Emma has been up for the past two hours feeding, burping, changes diaper and getting her son and daughter dress. Emma has got Sara and Jason to go back to sleep and is now getting dress for school, when Manny alarm clock start buzzes, which cases both babies to wake up and Start fuss really loud. Emma walks over to her son and daughter and starts singing to them. Manny set up in bed and hits the off button on her alarm clock, after she has turns off her alarm clock. She pulls her cover back up and lay her head back down on her pillow, hoping that by getting back under the cover she would stop shivering, but it does not work. Sara and Jason have gone back to sleep so Emma goes into the bathroom and starts to brush her tooth. Manny set back up in bed, but pulls her bedspread up with her. She looks at her clock to see what time it’s. At the sometime Sara starts fuss again and Emma can tell by the sound that she also kicking her feet on the bassinet. Emma takes the toothbrush out off her mouth.

Emma: Manny can you see what Sara needs?
Manny: She did a smelling one in her diaper.
Emma: Not again, can you change Sara, so I can finish getting ready for school?
Manny: (Clear her throat) I don’t think I should Em, I feel Fluish.
Emma: Fine, But you still need to get up and get ready for school.
Manny: Who made you mine, Coughs, mom, I can stay home sick If I need to?
Emma: No, you can’t, you used all your excuse absents Manny!

Emma walks out of the bathroom and goes over to her daughter and changes her diaper for the fourth times that morning. She then thinks about what infant formula she been feeding her daughter and realizes she has forgot to make Sara lactates free formula and been feeding her the regular infant formula that Jason gets. Once Sara diaper is change, she finishes get ready for school and then packs the diaper bag. By now Manny has got out of bed and was pulling on a pair of jeans. Emma looks over at Manny and sees she look flush and is shivering. Emma close the diaper bag and puts it onto her shoulder, she then grabs her book bag. Emma walks over to her son and daughter pick both of them up.

Emma: I will see you at school Manny, I have to drop Sara and Jason off at their great Grandma Nelson houses.
Manny: Ah-Choo, All right, I will see you at school too Em.

Emma walks upstairs then out the front door. Manny grabs a tissue from the tissue box on her night stand and blows her nose. She pulls on a gray t-shirt and then put on a black jacket. She set down on her bed for a few minutes and close her eyes, because her head is thumping. After a few minutes she gets up and goes into the bathroom. She gets out her toothbrush and brushes her tooth and then combs her hair. While in the bathroom she takes the thermometer out of the medicine cabinet. She puts the thermometer into her mouth and waits for it to beep. As she is taking her temperature, she hears Spike walking up to the basement door and then hear her open the door.
Spike: ( The thermometer Starts beeping) Manny, get a move on or you are going to be late school, if you do not leave soon.
Manny: (Takes the thermometer out of her mouth.) I will be upstairs in a minute Spike!
Spike: Ok

Manny looks at the thermometer and sees that she has a fever of 39.2 C (102.6 F). Great no wonder way I feel fluish. She clean the thermometer and puts it away, then leaves the bathroom and picks her book bag up. She grabs the box of tissue off of her night stand and puts them into her book bag. Manny looks at the clock and sees that she has three minutes to get to school and to English class. She runs up the stairs and out the front door and runs the whole way to Degrassi. Meanwhile Emma is showing the class pictures of Sara and Jason. Liberty and JT walk into the classroom and take two of the three empty seat next to Spinner, Sean, Emma and Jay. Emma looks over at Liberty and see JT is rubbing her back.

Emma: How are you holding up Liberty, you are due in a week and half right?
Liberty: I am doing ok, but my back is killing me.


The bell rings and at the sometime Manny comes running into the classroom and slides into the last free seat in the back row by the door. Emma looks over at her best friend and sees she is hold her chest and can also hear that Manny is gasp for breath.

Emma: Manny did you run all the way to school?
Manny: Yes, coughs
Jay: Manny, you do not sound good are you sure that you should be in school?
Manny: (Clear her throat.) I can’t miss any more days. Jay, Sean has either of you seen Towerz the last few days?
Sean: He at home sleeping.
Manny: Why is he sick?
Jay: Yeah he has a really bad flu bug.
Emma: Manny did you and Craig ended up break up last night after you finally tell him about what happened with you and Towerz?
Manny: No, he understands that I was really drunk and did not know what I was doing. We are still together.
Sean: I tell you he would understand!
Mrs. Kawn: All right class I want everyone to take out their creative write journals. I want you to spent the hour write a new story, prom or song.

The whole class gets out their journals and starts write in them. Emma’s starts write about what it like to be a new teenage mom. The last ten days have change my life forever, because I become a mom to Sara and Jason. It has not been easy at all. In fact it has been very hard. I no long get a full night sleep and my son and daughter dependent on me to do everything for them.
Meanwhile, Manny looks down at her journal and can’t think about anything to write. So she starts write about how awful she is feeling. When I got up this morning, I felt fluish and as today goes on, I am starting to feel worst. I have a sore throat, swell lymph-nods, headache and ache all over. Before leave for school I take my temperature and I have a fever of 39.2 C (102.6 F). I know I should have stay home in bed, because I know that I’m too sick to be at school and should stay home to rest. The only reason I am here is because I can miss any more days of school. At the end of the hour Manny grabs her book bag and hand right to her next class. She takes a set and lays her head down on her desk. Emma walks into the classroom and sets down next to Manny.

Chapter Two: Leave me alone!
Manny walks into math class, fifth hour drinking a bottle of water. She walks to the last row of desk and takes a set. Emma reaches over with her left hand and feels Manny’s forehand. Manny pulls away from Emma and take another drink of her water. Jay, Sean and Spinner walk into the classroom and take the last three seats in the back row by Manny and Emma.

Jay: Manny’s where were you during lunch?
Manny: Coughs, I was laying down in the nurse stations.
Emma: You should put the bottle of water into your book bag before Mrs. Bight, get here. Because if she sees you with a bottle of water, she will make you throw the water away.
Manny: I do not care, Em. My throat hurts really bad and it also, feels like its on fire. Drinking the water is the only thing that keeping me for crying, that how bad my throat hurts.
Emma: So, you still need to put the water bottle into your book bag, you can’t have drinks in the classroom its against the rules
Manny: I do not care.

Manny stands up and picks her book bag off the floor and starts walk towards the classroom door. When Emma yells at Manny, she turns around and she looks at her friend. The teacher Mrs. Bight walks into the room right after Manny turn to face Emma.

Emma: Manny, class is about to start where are you going?
Manny: To the nurse stations to get a pass to go home sick.
Emma: You have no days left.
Manny: Who cares, my throat feels like its on fire. I have the chills along with being ache all over. I am also running a very high grade fever.
Mrs. Bight: Manny Santos take a seat, it time for class to start!
Manny: Ah-Choo, I need to, coughs, go see the nurse.
Mrs. Bight: I told you to take a seat Manny Santos!
Manny: Ah-Choo, no I have the chills, high grade fever. My throat feels like it is on fire and I am ache all over. Also my nose is congested
Mrs. Bight: Fine, but do not bother coming back to class if the nurse does not sent, you home sick, because I do not want to catch what you have.
Manny: Whatever, I was not going to come back to class even if the school nurse told me to.

Emma, Sean, Jay and Spinner watch Manny walk towards the classroom door and listen to her coughing as she slams the door closes. Once Manny has left the room Mr. Bight starts walk around the classroom pass out a pop quiz. Emma look down at the copy of the pop quiz that Mrs. Bight just lay on her desk and puts her head in her hands. She rise her right hand into the air. Mrs. Bight looks at Emma then walks back over to her and kneels down next to her.

Mrs. Bight: What do you need Emma?
Emma: I have no Idea how to do this math. You did not include this section in my homework packaged that you sent home with Manny, for me to work on when I was on bed rest!
Mrs. Bight: Just take the quiz, so I can see how much you do know from this sections of the math textbook. If you do bad on the quiz, I will drop the quiz sore from your final grade.
Emma: Ok, Thanks
Mrs. Bight, stands back up and head to her desk and takes a set. Meanwhile, Manny is still walking to the nurse stations, she has only get to the end of the hallway that her math class is in. She had to stop walking, because she has become really light head. At the sometime she stops walking Mrs. Hatzilakos walk over to Manny and stops in front of her.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: Manny’s you class is in the other direction and you are already late for math class.
Manny: Coughs, I was head to the nurse stations, Ah-Choo, when I get really dizzy and had to stop walking.
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Fine, you can continue on you way then.
Manny: Thanks, Coughs

Manny stand walking again, but only makes it past two lockers, when she starts to feel faint. Mrs. Hatzilakos see Manny starting to fall and run over to Manny side and put her right arm around Manny waist and help her over to the bench. Then helps Manny set down onto the bench.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: You can skip going to the nurse stations, I ‘m ok it for you to go home. In fact when you feel up to move, we can head out to my car and I will give you a ride home.
Manny: Thanks, I think that I am able to make it outside and over to your car now.
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Ok

Manny stands up from the bench. Then her and Mrs. Hatzilakos head outside to the parking lot and over to Mrs. Hatzilakos, car. Mrs. Hatzilakos, unlocks her car door and Manny gets into the passenger’s seat and set her book bag between her legs on the floor. On the ride to the Nelson/ Simpson house Manny calls Merri at work and lets her know she need to take a sick day. She then close her eyes and tries to block out how painfully her throat is. As Mrs. Hatzilakos, pulls into the drive way of Nelson/Simpson household Manny starts coughing. When the cough fit end Manny open up the car door and gets out of the car.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: Manny, I want you to see a doctor before coming back to school!
Manny: Ok, thanks for give me a ride home.
Mrs. Hatzilakos: No problem, I hope you feel better soon.
Manny: Me too!

Manny walks up to the front door and heads inside the house. When she walks into the kitchen, she sees a note on the kitchen table from Spike. The note says that she has to close up the salons tonight and Snake has a check up with his doctor to make sure his cancer, is still in remissions. The note also says that Emma has to close the movie theater up tonight with Alex, because both Paige and Manny’s have called into work sick. Manny leaves the note on the table and walks towards the basement door. Manny looks over at where the door used to be that lead into the back yard, but is now an archway to the hallway of the new addition to the house. She walks down the hallway and sees that there is a note on the first bedroom door to let Emma know her bedroom, along with Jason and Sara’s bedroom is finish and ready for them to move into. It also said the bathroom is also finish and can now be used. Manny open up the first bedroom door on the right hand side, which has Jason name print on the door in baby blue and look inside. She sees that Jason bedroom is print sky blue and has clouds paint on the walls and ceiling. She close Jason’s bedroom door. She then walks a little farther down the hallway and opens the bedroom door that has Sara name paint on it in purple. She looks into the bedroom and sees that the walls in Sara room are print lavender and it the theme is Winner the pooh. She close Sara’s bedroom door. Manny’s goes across to the hallway and open up the door across from Sara room. Manny looks into Emma’s new bedroom and sees the top half of the walls are purple. Also, that the bottom half of Emma’s bedroom walls is paint pink. She walks into Emma’s bedroom and takes a fast look around, she then open the door that connects the new bathroom to Emma’s bedroom. She looks into the bathroom and sees it’s print gold with sliver stars’ print on the walls and ceiling. Manny close the door to the bathroom, then walks out of Emma’s bedroom. She close her bedroom door and heads downstairs to her basement bedroom. She changes out of her school clothing and puts her nightshirts back on then gets into her bed and fall right to sleep. Two and half hours later Manny gets wakes up by Emma.

Manny: Go away I am sick!
Emma: I have to go into work and I need you to watch Jason and Sara till Snake or Spike gets home.
Manny: I am sick and do not feel up to watch them.
Emma: They are asleep in their cribs in their bedroom upstairs, Spike is due back in an hour and Snake should be back in either a half hour or an hour. I put both the baby Video Monitors on your night stand. The pink one is Sara and the blue one is Jason.
Manny: I cannot even stay awake, Em!
Emma: Both Sara and Jason have been feed and had their diaper changes and they should sleep till either my mom or stepfather gets home.
Manny: Ah-Choo, Coughs, call Jay or Sean I am not up to watch them.
Emma: They are at work, you the only one left, Sorry.

Emma runs upstairs and leaves for work before Manny could say anything else. Manny rolls over in bed and looks at both baby Video Monitors and she sees that both Jason and Sara are sounds asleep. Manny watches the baby chest rise and fall as they sleep for a few minutes. She then picks up the baby Video Monitors and heads upstairs and takes a set on the couch. She turns the tv on and tries to stay awake, but ends up fall asleep.

Chapter Three: Two fusses babies and on grump Manny!
Manny gets wakening up to the sound of Jason and Sara screaming at the top of their lungs. She set up on the couch and looks at the baby Video Monitors. Manny slower get up from the couch. She has only just stands up when she falls backward onto the couch, because the room start spin and her legs give out on her. Spike and Jack comes walk through the front door right after Manny legs give out on her and Spike, can hear Sara and Jason crying really loud. Spike, sets Jack down on the couch next to Manny then run into Jason’s bedroom and pick him up. She then runs into Sara’s bedroom and picks up Sara. Spike, comes walking back into the living room carry her grandson and granddaughter. Manny slower get up from the couch and start to walk towards her bedroom door. Spike, run in front of Manny and stop in front of her bedroom door.

Spike: Emma’s trust you to watches her son and daughter. That mean when they are crying you get up and check on the babies, not set on the couch stares into space. Also, you never just let the babies are crying at the top of their lungs, when there are crying like that there are told you that their need something!
Manny: I did get up Spike, coughs, but I get really dizzy and the room, coughs, started spin. Then my legs give , Ah-Choo, out and I fell backwards onto the couch right, coughs, before you and Jack come through the door.
Spike: Manny’s you sound awful and are not looking to good. Are you feeling all right?
Manny: Ah Ah-Choo, no I have a very sore throat, ache all over, feverish, swell lymphnods, fatigue, all stuffed up. I also have a bad headache. I would love to talk more, but I have to use the bathroom.
Spike: Ok, I will come downstairs to your bedroom to check on you. Once I get Jack down for his nap and get Sara and Jason’s back to sleep.
Manny: Ok, Spike.

Manny runs down the stairs and into her bathroom and slum the door closes behind her. She just very made it into the bathroom and set down on the toilet on time. Before her bowel let loss. As she is using the bathroom, she looks down at her legs and notices that she has a rash cover both her legs. She then looks at both of her arms and notices there also have the rash. Great, what in the world did I catch? When she done use the bathroom, she wiped off and washes her hands. She lifts up her night shirt and notice that the rash is also all over her chest, stomach and back. She walks out of the bathroom and lay down on her bed, at the sometime Manny is laying down in her bed Spike walks down the stairs. Spike, notice that Manny has a rash all over her body. Spike, walks into the bathroom and grabs the thermometer out of the medicine cabinet. She walks back over to Manny and puts the thermometer into her mouth. Manny rolls her eyes at Spike. Back upstairs Snake walks into the house and closes the front door behind him. He then walks over to the door of his grandson’s bedroom and looks in on him and he sees that he is sleep. He then walks over to his granddaughter’s bedroom and sees he is sleep too. As he walks back towards the living room. He hears his wife talking to Manny’s in her basement bedroom. He walks up to Manny bedroom door and head downstairs to her room. To find Spike tie Manny shoes.

Snake: Spike, what is wrong?
Spike: I am taking Manny to the health center, I think she might have Mono. Will you keep a eye on Sara and Jason, since they were shares this room with Emma and Manny till this morning they could have catch the germ that Manny got?
Snake: Sure, Manny did Emma know you are sick?
Manny: Coughs, yes
Spike: And she still made you babysit Jason and Sara?
Manny: Ah Ah-Choo, yes.
Spike: We need to get going.
Snake: I will help Manny out to your car Spike.
Manny: Thanks I am really weak.

Snake, put his right arm around Manny’s waist and help her upstairs, then out to his wife’s car. Four hours later Emma walks through the front door of the house and sees her stepfather feeding Sara her bottle. She then sees Jason set in his bounce seat and she hears Jason’s fusses.

Snake: He still needs to be feed Em!
Emma: Ok, I make his bottle and feed him. Were is my mom at?
Snake: (Emma walks into the kitchen.) Spike, take Manny to the health center four hours ago and they have not come back yet. Before you ask Spike, has not call here to let me know what going on either Em.
Emma: OK just want to know.

Emma walks back into the living room and picks up her son. She then walks over to the couch and takes a set next to Snake. After she has set down, she starts to feed Jason his bottle.

Chapter four: Shock
Three hours later both Emma and Jason are asleep in their bedrooms and Snake is holding his granddaughter Sara. Snake is walking around the living room trying to calm her down, because she will not stop fuss. Sara has just start to calm down when Spike open the front door and then helps Manny into the house and straight through the living and kitchen. Then Spike help Manny down the basement staircases to her bedroom. After a few minutes’ Spike walks back upstairs and over to her husband and granddaughter. She kisses Snake on the cheek and takes Sara from him. Spike then looks at Snake and she knows he is worried about more then what is wrong with Manny. Emma comes walk into the living room with Jason who is crying at the top of his lungs. Hear her brother crying Sara starts to cry, Snake looks at the time and heads into the kitchen and makes up his grandson and granddaughter a bottle. Once Spike is feeding Sara and Snake has take Jason from Emma and is feeding his grandson. Emma set down on the floor across from her mom and stepfather, she looks at them for a few moments trying to think about what she should ask first.

Emma: Mom, what did the ER doctor say is wrong with Manny?
Spike: She has Mono
Emma: Oh, but she was sleep in the same room as Sara and Jason till tonight!
Spike: I ask the doctor about that and he say that since Manny did not kiss them or share her food or drinks with Jason and Sara they should be fine, but to keep an eye on both of them.
Emma: Ok, Snake how did your doctor appointment go?
Snake: Not so good I have to going in for some more test tomorrow morning, Dr. Cookie thinks the cancer might be back!
Spike: Snake you should tell me when you first get home!
Snake: I was more worried about Manny then Spike.
Emma: Now I know way you take Sara and Jason upstairs and give then bath in the bathroom on the second floor and the reason way you let me go take a show in the new bathroom and then go to bed.
Snake: You are right Emma, the first thing that I thought of when I hear the cancer could be back is to come home and spent time with Jack, Sara and Jason and that what I did.

Snake stands up and goes over to the table under the window and picks up the printout of the pictures he takes off Jack playing with his Niece and Nephew. He then shows them the pictures and both Spike and Emma start laughing at the picture of two -year- old Jack showing Sara and Jason that his teddy bear can dance.

Emma: That so cute, it had to believe that it has been two years and five months now since Jack was an infant.
Spike: It does not feel like it has been two years and Five months it feels like it was only yesterday that I had Jack.

By now both Jason and Sara have finish eating and have been burped. Now Spike is change Jason and Snake is change Sara diaper’s. Emma takes her son and daughter from her mom and stepfather after they diaper’s have been changes and puts then back to bed. She then goes to her bedroom and goes back to sleep herself.

Chapter Five: Birthday
Two days later Mr. Simpson is sitting at his desk in the M.I. lab stares at his cellphone wait for the doctor to call him on the test results. Emma’s walk into the classroom pushes a double baby stroller with her sleeping son and daughter in it. Mr. Simpson looks up and smiles at his stepdaughter and two grandchildren.

Emma: Has the doctor called yet Mr. Simpson?
Mr. Simpson: No, Are Sara and Jason feeling better then last night Emma?
Emma: Yeah it was just gas, they finally went to sleep!
Mr. Simpson: Did Spike ever get Manny to eat some breakfast this morning?
Emma: Yeah, a little.

The rest of the class walks into the room and Emma pushes the stroller over to her seat and sets down. She then turns on her computer and gets to work on her M.I. assignment. Toby set down in Emma right. Liberty set down on Emma lift and pick up Sara. JT takes a set next to Liberty after pick up Jason. Sean and Jay walks into the lab and take a set in the two seats next to Toby.

Liberty: Sara and Jason have got so big Emma, Jay and Sean.
JT: Are they easy to take care of or are me and Liberty in for a lot of week once are son is born?
Emma: They are a lot of work, but it worth it JT.
Liberty: JT we are going to make great parents.
Toby: How Manny feeling this morning?
Emma: A little better, my mo get her to eat some toast for breakfast before she went back to bed.
Sean: Liberty do you mind if I hold my daughter?
Liberty: No, that fine I need to uses the restroom again anywise.

Liberty stops up holding her back with both hands. She starts walking towards the door when she starts feeling water running down her legs. Liberty looks at JT then grabs her stomach with both hands.

Liberty: It hurts
Emma: Liberty your water has break and you are in labor!
Liberty: No, I’m not ready for the baby to come. I am not, Ouch due till next week.
Mr. Simpson: JT you need to takes Liberty to the hospital.
JT: By car is in the shop.
Toby: I can drive of Liberty and you to the hospital.
Mr. Simpson: That fine.
Liberty: I want Emma to come with me.
Mr. Simpson: That fine the four of you can leave.
Emma: Jay and Sean keep a eye on your son and daughter.
Jay and Sean: Ok Em.


Emma, Toby, JT and Liberty head out to Toby car and Toby drive them to the hospital. On the way to the hospital Liberty contractions get stronger. When they get to the hospital Toby pulls his car up to the ER door and JT runs into get help. A nurse comes run out with a stretcher. The nurse helps Liberty onto the stretcher and then the nurse wheel her into the ER.

Liberty: I want to go up to Labor and deliver!
Nurse: after a ER doctor check you.
Liberty: Ouch I am having another contraction.
Emma: It has not even been a minutes since your last one.
Liberty: I have being have contractions on and off since last night.
Emma: I know it and you say it was just gas when we were at work.
Liberty: Ouch, it feels like my son is between my knees.

The nurse close the door to the exam room on JT and Toby and Emma help the nurse get Liberty into a hospital grown. A minute later Dr. Hope, Toby and JT walk into the room.

Dr. Hope: Liberty’s can you put your legs into the leg supports.
Liberty: Ok

The doctor lift the sheet up and check to see if the baby come down and finds that the baby is crown.

Dr. Hope: You are not going to make up to labor and deliver, your son is crowning, I need you to push now.
Liberty: Ok

Toby takes Liberty left hand and Emma takes Liberty left hand. JT rubs his girlfriend back, as Liberty gives a big push and deliver her and JT son.

Dr. Hope: You have a healthy son Liberty.

JT cut the umbilical and the doctor hands liberty her son. After see her son the doctor takes the baby back and makes everything is alright with him. Then a nurse clean the baby up and another nurse clean Liberty up. After they both clean up the nurse put a match ID bracelet on the baby and Liberty then take them up to the maternity ward.
