Chapter one: All alone
I feel alone with no one to talk to or to hold me and tell me everything will be ok. Since I find out four and half weeks ago that Jay’s cheat on me with my ex- best friend Amy and god even Emma Nelson, along with countless others and give me gonorrhea. I break up with him the day I find out he made me sick. I did not just break up with Jay. I give up date man all together and start
date women again, but I think Jay did more then just get me sick.

God I feel so alone with no one to talk to about this. I do not know what to do or who to talk to.
I call Paige for the three days in a roll last night and ask her to cover my shift, but she had me call Merri first and let her know I was too sick to come into work and that Paige was cover my shift for me. Of cause Merri was mad at me for taking a three sick day in a row and told me if I had to take another sick day I need a doctor note say I was too sick to come to work. There is a knock on the apartment door. It one a.m. who could be knocking on the door? I hear Paige call my name from behind the door. I really do not want to talk to anyone, I’m exhaust and moody. Also my period is four and half weeks late. I get off the couch and let Paige into the apartment. Paige looks at me as she walks into the apartment and I can tell Paige is worry about me.

Paige: Lexi, tell me what wrong, you can tell me the truth?
Alex: I am exhaust and not in the mood to talk, Paige just go home. I will see you at school tomorrow if I go.
Paige: Lexi, What wrong, you don’t look or sound sick and you don’t feel like you are running a fever either. Why have you been miss school and work so much the last few weeks?
Alex: I’m not ready to talk about it, Please just leave!
Paige: Fine but, I will be here in the morning to walk to school with you.
Alex: Whatever.

I show Paige out and now I’m sitting on my bed stare into space wishing i would have just told Paige what was going on. Then again it Paige would she understands and still want to be my friend or I should say my girlfriend seeing that we have been dating eachother the last three weeks. How will she react when I tell her I think Jay got me pregnant?

Chapter Two: Bad choice
Alex is at the local drug store at four a.m. standing in front of all the different types of home pregnancy tests unsure of which one to buy. She knows what the test will say already, her period is never late and she only miss one other time before misses one before and then when her mom’s boyfriend Chad raped her and get her pregnant, she had an abortion then. I do not think I can stay to have another abortion. After standing there for five minutes she buys a clearblue pregnancy test and goes and pays for it. On the walk home she wishes this was all a dream and that she would wake up in her bed and that Jay had never got her sick or maybe pregnant. She walks back into the apartment to see Chad and her mom are still sound asleep in their bedroom. Alex heads straight to the bathroom and take the pregnancy test. She set the alarm on her cellphone for three minutes and takes a set on the edge of the bathtub to wait for the results. Alex now knows that sleep with Jay was a really bad choice and she is now pay for it by not only get a sexually transmitted disease, but she could be having a baby at seventeen. Just then the alarm on her cellphone goes off. She hit a button so it will stop beeping and she stands up. She then walks back over to the sink and look at the pregnancy test. She sees a plus sign she picks up the box and read that a plus sings means that you are pregnant. She throws the box and the test into the trash can, she now knows that her life has changes forever. What are people at school going to think about her now? What is her mom going to says? How was she going to tell Jay that he was going to be a Dad? What will Paige think of her? The only thing she knows is she cannot continue to live in the same apartment as Chad, because he is too abusive and it would not be a safe environment for her or her unborn child. She decides to pull the pregnancy test back out of the trash can and puts the pregnancy test into a zip lock bag and throws it into the front pocket of her book bag. She goes into her room to pack all her clothing into a gym bag. She picks up her teddy bear off her bed and puts it into her gym bag. It the one item Jay has give her that she cannot live without, she is able to hold the teddy bear when she is scary and crying. After Alex’s has pack all of her clothing, she leaves a note on the refrigerator door for her mom. To let Emily know she is pregnant and also that if she needs to talk to her. Either call her cellphone or Paige house. Alex then walks out the apartment door and heads over to Paige parents’ house. Alex gets to Paige house and stand on the front porch for a few minutes before rings the door bell. She knows it’s early still, but hope someone is up and that she does not wake anyone up if they are asleep. She sees Dylan walking down the stairs and up to the front door. Dylan sees Alex stand at the door with her book bag and two gym bags and know something is wrong and she does not feel safe stay with Emily or Chad anymore. He open up the front door and let Alex into the house and take the gym bags for her at the sometime Paige and their Mom and Dad, comes walking downstairs.

Dylan: Alex, What wrong?
Alex: I made a big mistake by sleep with Jay and now I’m pregnant and I can’t stay with my mom or her boyfriend Chad because he is too abusive so it is a very unsafe environment for someone who is pregnant. Can I stay here till I find a place of my own?
Mrs. Michalchuk: Of cause you can honey, you can sleep in the guest room as long as you have to.
Alex: Thank Mrs. Michalchuk

Chapter Three: You Did What Lexi
Dylan carries Alex Bags upstairs for her and show her where the guests’ bedroom is, so she can put her things away before school. Alex had put away her clothing and her few other items and has sat down on the bed. She is trying to work on some homework when Paige walks into the guests bedroom. Alex looks up and sees Paige stand there and know Paige is not happy about hear she is pregnant with Jay’s baby.

Paige: Lexi, What are you going to do?
Alex: I’m going to tell Jay That he has got me pregnant.
Paige: That not what I mean Lexi, you don’t want to actually have this baby? You could have abortion?
Alex: I’m only turn seventeen in four days, It is not like I am ready to be someone, mom but I am not going to have abortion, not again I cannot. Like you are the one that should tell me to get abortion Paige you have a one- year- old that turn two in July of this year.
Paige: I know that but I have a family that can help me out, you do not have a family that can help you out with a baby Lexi. How can you afford a child? It would be better to just have an abortion!
Alex: No, Paige I won’t. That kill a baby. Beside If my mom had an abortion like my grandmother, Grandfather and biology father want her to when she found out she was pregnant with me at seventeen I would not be here and we would not be together!
Paige: Then give the baby up for adoption.
Alex: I can’t Paige, I would not be able to live with myself know I give up my child and that he or she out there somewhere and does not know who I am!
Paige: You not going to break up with me and start date Jay again are you?
Alex: No, I love you Paige and I only love you. Nothing going to change that Sweetie.
Paige: Ok, Lexi I just need sometime to get use to this, but I am here for you no matter what Lexi.
Alex: Thanks Paige, Can you help me catch up on my homework?
Paige: Sure, But first what do you want to do on your birthday next Monday?
Alex: Go out to dinner before work.
Paige: Ok sweetie, Lexi the baby due in December right?
Alex: Yeah, Paige will you come with me today when I tell Jay?
Paige: Sure.

Paige and Alex spent the next two hours, before having to get ready for school. Getting Alex catching up on school work seeing that see misses the last three days of school. Before school start Alex and Paige meet up with Jay in the ally way behind The Dot. He walks over to where Paige and Alex is stand thinking I still can’t get use to see them together. He sees that Alex is hold her stomach and Paige has her right arm around Alex.

Jay: Lexi what is so important that you had to tell me in person and could not tell me on the phone. It not still about me giving the STD gonorrhea is it?
Alex: No, Jay’s I’m pregnant and you are the father.
Jay: Are you sure it my baby Lexi?
Alex: Yes Jay, You the only guy I every sleep with!
Jay: Ok Lexi, That mean you do in December right?
Alex: Yeah, I am keeping the baby to. I do not care if you are in the baby live as long as you give me Child supported!
Jay: Ok, I want to see the baby, seeing that its mine.
Alex: That fine, But we are not getting back together I am date Paige now.
Jay: Fine
Paige: Lexi, we need to head to school because going. It’s going to start in a few minutes.
Alex: Ok, I need to use the bathroom first, because I think I’m going to be sick.

With that Alex put her hand over her mouth and start running, but only makes it as far as the trash can outside The Dot. She bents over the trash can and start throwing up. Paige walks up behind her and pulls Alex hair out of her face.

Chapter Four: To tell everyone or keep the pregnancy a secret awhile longer?
Emma and Manny are walking to school and have just reach the corner that The Dot is on and see Alex throwing up into the trash can and that Paige is hold the hair out of Alex face. They walk up to Paige and Alex and stop in front of them. Paige gives them a look that says go away, but Emma and Manny do not move.

Paige: What do the two of you want?
Manny: ( Holding the right side of her face.) Paige I can’t make spirit squad practice after school, I have a dentist appointment.
Paige: Why do you make a dentist appointment doing spirit squad practice?
Manny: Because I have a really bad toothache.
Paige: Ok
Alex: Paige making them go away (gags) please.

Alex start throwing up again hope that Emma and Manny will just head to school, but the girls do not walk away. Emma and Manny just stare at Alex as she gets sick to her stomach.

Emma: Alex’s you know you not suppose to come to school if you are sick, you could be contagious?
Paige: She is not sick Emma!
Emma: Yeah right Paige she throwing up into the trash can?
Alex: (Finish throwing up) I’m not contagious and I do not have a fever Emma.
Manny: Then why are you getting sick to your stomach?
Paige: The milk she put into her cereal bowl this morning was bad and it gave her an upset stomach is all.
Alex: Now leave me alone!
Emma: Fine

With that Manny and Emma head towards the school. Paige and Alex picks they book bags up from the sidewalk. Their start walking towards the school together and Paige notices that Alex is still hold her stomach.

Alex: Thanks for cover for me, back at the trash can when Manny asking why I kept getting sick.
Paige: It was no big deal I just figure you were not ready for everyone to know that you are pregnant yet.
Alex: Yeah, I am not sure who I’m ready to tell yet. I had to tell you, your parents, your brother and Jay, but I not sure about tell anyone else yet?
Paige: You tell them when you are ready to let them know. Till then I will keep you secret, It Jay’s I would worry about tell people.
Alex: I’m sure he won’t tell anyone beside maybe Sean when he calls him at his parents house in Wasaga and maybe Spinner but I’m sure he will tells them not to tell anyone till I start let people know about been pregnant.

With that Paige and Alex stop talk about Alex being pregnant because theirs have reached the entrance to the school. Theirs know that are late for media Immersion class as soon as their walk into the school and their hear a bell ring and the hallways are empty. They walk towards the media Immersion lab . When theirs get to the lab Paige opens up the door to the lab and both girls walk into the room and take their seat next to Marco and Ellie.

Mr.Simpson: Alex, Paige you are late for class. Try to be on time for now on.
Paige and Alex: Yes Mr. Simpson.
Mr.Simpson : And Nice to see you back in class Alex are you feeling better?
Alex: A little better, but I only come because I’m out of excuse absent.
Mr. Simpson: Paige will you help Alex get caught up on what we are work on in class?
Paige: Yes Mr.Simpson.

Chapter Five: Morning Sickness can’t tell time
Alex walks into her fifth hour class and takes a set in the back row in the seat by the door. She leans back in the seat and closes her eyes. Paige walks into the classroom and sees Alex has her eyes closed and she is holding her stomach. She knows that Alex wants to keep the fact that she is pregnant a secret till she was at lest four months, but when Mrs. Kawn told Alex she should see the nurse since she kept throwing up in the classroom trash can, she had no choice but to tell Mrs. Kawn the truth, so of cause the whole class heard that she is pregnant. Alex does not look over at Paige when she set down next to her.

Paige: Lexi, Everything ok?
Alex: Yeah, beside the fact that morning sickness cannot tell that its afternoon not morning.
Paige: Saltine cracker help.
Alex: I would try some saltine if I had any, but I don’t.
Paige: Here, I run across the street to the store and pick you up some before come to class.
Alex: Thanks

Alex takes the saltine cracker from Paige and tries them and is surprise to find they are actual help to calm her stomach. When she sees Mr. Armstrong, walk into the classroom she put the rest of the saltine cracker into her book bag.

Mr. Armstrong: All right class open you health textbooks to page 201. We are starting chapter eleven: How a fetus develops doing the nine months in the mothers’ womb.
Alex: (Whisper into Paige ear) At lest all the question I have we be answer now.
Paige: (Whisper back) Yeah, they will and I think all the boys will learn more then they ever want to know about how a baby develops in the womb.
Alex: (Whisper back) Yeah I think they will.
Mr. Armstrong: Macro you going to start read the first part of the chapter out loud.

Chapter Six: I can be a mom!
Paige and Alex get back to the Michalchuk household after school gets out and Paige opens the front door. The two of them had very got into the door when one-year-old Bethany comes running at Alex and she is hold Alex brown toddy bear. Alex looks down at the blonde hair, blue-eyed little girl that is hold her teddy bear. Alex smiles at Bethany, then bent down and picks Bethany’s up. Paige looks over at Alex to see if she mad about her daughter got a hold of her teddy bear. Since she knows that the bear has specials meaning to her because it the one item Jay’s give Alex that has helped her get through tough time when her mom and mom’s boyfriend. Along with the times Chad was arguing and when Chad was also beat up her mom or after he beat her up . She was able to hug the bear. She could also cry in front of the teddy bear. She did not have to worry that anyone would tell her that she is weak for crying. Paige is relieved to see Alex is not mad and is making the bear talk to Bethany.

Alex: (Voice of teddy bear.) Hi Bethany.
Bethany: Hi Lex and Bear
Alex: (Teddy bear voice) Did you have fun with Dylan?
Bethany: Yes.
Paige: Want to come to mommy?
Bethany: Yes

Paige takes Bethany from Alex and Bethany grabs the teddy bear out of Alex hands. Alex lets Bethany play with the teddy bear. Alex heads upstairs to her bedroom and gets ready for work. Thinking to her self how luck Paige is that Bethany got her looks and not her biological father. In fact Bethany is the spitting Images of Paige. She knows that if Paige can handle take care of a child so can she.

Chapter Seven: Paige I won’t to be with you forever
Paige walks back into her bedroom carry Bethany and sees a letter laying on her pillow. She set down on her bed and see the note is from Alex, at the sometime Bethany starts crying because her mom has stop talk to her. So she read the note out to her daughter.
Dear Paige, I know I have made a mistake going back to Jay and sleep with him after the school shooting was one of them. At the time I do not think much of it because you went back to Spinner after the school shooting. I know now I never loved Jay, I have only had eyes for you since the first day I show you and I love you seen that day to. I want to spent the rest of my life with you and Bethany. I do not know if you feel the same way about me, but if you do let me know.

Paige grabs Bethany back up and walks into Alex bedroom still hold the note in her right hand. Alex looks up from doing her homework when Paige walks into her room. Bethany reaches for Alex and Alex takes her from Paige.

Paige: The answers yes I feel the same way about you, I want to spent the rest of my life with you.
Alex: You mean it Paige?
Paige: Yes I love you Lexi, with all my heart.

Paige leans in and kisses Alex on her lips and Alex kisses her back. Bethany picks up Alex, bottle of water and take a sip.

Bethany: Momie ate!
Paige: All right let go get you some breakfast Bethany.

The three of them head downstairs and into the kitchen. Alex set Bethany down in her booster seat and plays peekaboo. As Paige make Bethany her baby cereal. After a few minutes Paige set down next to Bethany and start feed her at the sometime Dylan walks downstairs and takes a seat across Bethany and smile at his niece as she grabs a handful of cereal and throws it into her Mom hair.

Alex: Dylan Is something wrong, you seem out of shorts?
Dylan: I miss Macro, he did not come over last night like he said he would.
Paige: Mr. Armstrong sent Marco to the school nurse yesterday, when he said his throat was to sore to read out loud.
Dylan: I’m going to go call his cellphone and see how he doing.
Paige: Lexi, will you finish feed Bethany so I can go wash the cereal out of my hair?
Alex: Sure honey.

Paige run upstairs and Alex take over feed Bethany. At the sometime Dylan walks back downstairs and into the kitchen he takes a seat next to his niece.

Alex: So how Macro doing?
Dylan: He has a really bad head cold so he going to have to miss school for a few days. Can you and Paige take his homework to him after school gets out?
Alex: Sure

Paige walks down the stairs and over to Alex, Bethany and Dylan.

Paige: We need to leave for school.
Alex: Ok, but we have to drop Macro homework off to him after school he has a bad head cold.
Paige: Ok, Bye Bethany’s I see you when I get home.

Paige and Alex go upstairs and grab they book bags then leave for school.

Chapter Eight: Bethany earache and Marco head cold!
Alex and Paige are setting in their three-hour class, which is English with Mrs. Kawn. Alex notice Paige is looking at her cellphone again, because Dylan just sent her another text message. Alex’s open up her notebook and writes on the first free page. This Bethany’s earache got worse? She pushes the notebook over so Page can see it and Paige reads it then write down. The daycare on the campus of Toronto universities had Dylan’s pick Bethany up because she has a low grade fever of 37.6 degrees Celsius (99.6 degrees Fahrenheit), Dylan has her in class with him right now. He said he will text massage if Bethany fever gets higher and I need to come get Bethany and take her home. Paige pushes the notebook back to Alex she reads what paige wrote then wrote back to her. She already had four ear infections this year, I hope this one clear up on it own and her fever stay down. I hope Bethany feels better soon Paige. Did you or Dylan have a lot of ear infections when you were kids? Alex pushes the notebook back to Paige who reads what Alex wrote her and at the sometime listen to Ellie readers out loud from Hamlet by William Shakespear, which is the novel they read in English class. Paige smells at Alex after read the part of I hope Bethany feels better soon. She finishes read then write back. No, neither Dylan nor I had a lot of ear infections. I had one at the 4 months and Dylan never had one. Neither of our parents got them growing up. Bethany gets it from Dean sides ( Bethany’s biological father). And thanks for saying I hope Bethany feels better soon. Paige pushes the notebook back to Alex who just finishes read what Paige wrote when the bell for class to ended rings. Alex close the notebook and puts the notebook back in her book bag along with the rest of her English books then her and Paige leave the classroom and head to fourth hour which is gym class. Alex and Paige head to the gym. Once at the gym Paige heads into the locker room and changes into her gym clothing. Alex works into the gym and Heads Mr. Armstrong the doctor note she picks up on the way home from school yesterday that let her out of gym for the rest of the year. Mr. Armstrong takes the note from Alex and reads it.

Mr. Armstrong: Go take a set in the stands and watch or if you have any homework that needs to be done you can work on it.
Alex: Ok.

Paige walks out of the locker room and runs over to Alex. She hands Alex her cellphone to keep an eye on.

Alex: Did you want me to let you know if Dylan’s text message you?
Paige: Yes, please.

A half hour into gym class Paige phone start ringing really loud. In the calling ring tone, not the text message tone. Alex knows that Paige can’t get to her phone seeing the class outside run laps so she flips the cellphone open and takes the call.

Alex: Dylan what wrong, did Bethany fever go up?
Dylan: Yeah, Alex, it now at 38.9 degrees Celsius (102.2 degrees Fahrenheit). I need Paige to come and pick Bethany up and take her to the health center to have the doctor take a look at her right ear, because its cause her a lot of pain.
Alex: Ok, I go let Paige, know Dylan.
Dylan: Thanks.

Alex flips the cellphone close and runs outside and up to Paige who know something is wrong when she sees Alex running up carrying her cellphone.


Paige: What wrong?
Alex: Dylan needs you to pick Bethany up and take her to the health center she has a fever 38.9 degrees Celsius and her right ear is cause Bethany a lot of pain.
Paige: Ok

Paige takes her cellphone from Alex and runs inside the school and grabs her book bag out of her gym locker then takes off to get Bethany after asks Alex to bring her homework home for the class she misses. The rest of the school day goes by really slower for Alex and her morning sickness start to act up after eat lunch. When the bell ring at the end of seventh hour Alex goes to her locker and throws the textbooks and notebooks she does not need into her locker then goes to Marco Locker and get all his textbooks and notebooks so he can keep up on his school work. She then gets the textbook and notebook out of Paige Locker she will need for the class she misses. Alex then takes the bus to Marco houses. When she gets off the bus, she goes up to the front door of Del Rossi houses and rings the bell. After a few minutes she sees Marco walking up and he is coughing. Macro open the door with his left hand because he is cover his mouth with his right hand. He let Alex into the house when he sees that she has her full of not only his textbooks and notebooks but Paige sixth and seventh hour science and math textbooks and notebooks. Marco leads Alex into the living room and she sets all the textbooks and notebooks onto the coffee table. She then sits down on the big comfort chair by the couch since Macro lay back down on the couch and she removes the two top notebooks and two top textbooks from the pile.

Marco: (Sound hoarse )Lexi, did paige have, coughs, to going home sick during four or fifth- hour?
Alex: She had to leaves school to take Bethany to the doctor she had a fever of 38.9 degrees Celsius and her right ear causes her a lot of pain.
Marco: Ah-Choo, Poor Bethany, let Bethany know I hope she feels better soon.
Alex: I will Marco, but how are you feeling today?
Marco: (Sniffling) I have a fever of 39.7 degrees Celsius (103.5 degrees Fahrenheit). As you can tell I’m all stuffed up and keep coughing. I also have a sore throat.
Alex: Any swell lymph nodes or inflamed tonsils?
Marco: Coughs, no thank God.
Alex: I should go I have to get home and drop Paige homework off to her and see if she needs me to take her shift tonight?
Marco: Ok., Thanks for stops by and drop all my homework off for yesterday and the rest of the week.
Alex: No big deal, just get well soon because Dylan misses you and he sent his love.
Macro: Tell, Dylan I miss him too and also that I sent my love too.
Alex: I will, and you do not need to get up to show me out and can find my own way out.
Macro: Thanks, I think I’m going to go back to sleep I have get really tire all of a sudden and I think my fever has went up too.
Alex: You do look really feverish, where did you keep the thermometer at?
Marco: It’s setting on the nightstand by my bed in my bedroom.
Alex: Ok, I will go get it for you.

Alex set down Paige textbooks and notebooks and goes and get the thermometer out of Marco bedroom then comes back and has Macro put the thermometer into his mouth. When it beeps thirty second later Alex, take the thermometers out of Macro mouth. Then the two of them both look at the thermometer together and sees he now has a fever off 40.1 degrees Celsius.

Marco: Can you head me that bottle of Tylenol cold and flu and my bottle of water?
Alex: Sure
Marco: (Alex hands him the Tylenol and the water) Thanks.
Alex: I think you have the Flu Marco, not a head cold, because you fever is too high for a cold.
Marco: Coughing, Yeah I know I hate having the flu.
Alex: I really have to go But feel better soon.
Macro: Bye.

Alex picks Paige homework up then heads out the front door and back to Paige parents house, which is where she is staying at.

Chapter Nine: Paige minor break down!
Alex slower walks home from Marco house, when she get back to Michalchuk house she see Paige is setting on the front porch crying. Alex walks over to Paige and set down next to her. Alex puts her arm around her girlfriend and Paige put her head on Alex shoulder.

Alex: Paige, sweetie what is wrong?
Paige: Crying
Alex: Sweetie, Is it about Bethany?
Paige: (Sniffs) Yes
Alex: What wrong?
Paige: She needs to have tubes put in her ears Lexi, I have to take her to see an Ears, nose and throat specialist, to have the tubes put into her ears. They want to do surgery on my baby girl Lexi!
Alex: It will be all right Sweetie, I had tubes put into my ears when I was the same age as Bethany, she will feel a lot better afterwards and Bethany will not get as many earache.

Paige wipes her eyes off. She then gives Alex a big hug and kiss her on the lips. Alex kisses Paige back and the two of them get up from the porch. Paige and Alex walk into the house and Bethany comes running up to them and grabs onto Paige right leg. She bents down and picks up her daughter. Bethany lays her head on her mom right shoulder. Alex looks at Bethany and hopes that her baby will never need to have tubes put into his or her ears. Alex then heads upstairs and set Paige homework, textbooks and notebooks on Paige bed then she goes into her own bedroom. She puts her book bag down on the floor and picks up the phone and calls to make a doctor appointment to see the obgyn, Dr. Shoepin at the health center.

Nurse Kim: You reach the health center how can I help you?
Alex: I need to make an appointment to see Dr. Shoepin.
Nurse Kim: What the reason for the visit?
Alex: I am four weeks and five half days pregnant!.
Nurse Kim: Dr. Shoepin has an appointment open this coming up Monday, April 11, 2005 at 3:30p.m.
Alex: Do you have any other day open?
Nurse Kim: Not this month and you should really come in this month.
Alex: Ok, I will take it.
Nurse Kim: What is your name?
Alex: Alex Nunez.
Nurse Kim: We will see you on Monday then.
Alex: Ok, see you then.

Alex hangs up the phone and then goes looking for Paige. She founds Paige in Bethany bedroom singing Hash little baby.

Paige: Hash little baby don’t say a word mommy going to buy you’re a diamond ring.

Just then Paige notices that Bethany has went to sleep and lays her down into her crib. She then walk over to Alex who is stand at the door watching her. As soon as Paige reach Alex she gives her a big hug.

Alex: Do you want me to cover you shift tonight at the movie theater?
Paige: Yeah, that would be nice. Seeing you know how Bethany gets when see is sick all she want is her mom.
Alex: Then I better go get ready for work.
Paige: Thank, Lexi.

Alex goes back into her bedroom and closes the door behind her. She then gets her work uniform out of the closet and gets changes, But she could not get the pants to zip. Great I am already getting fat. She grabs a different pair of Khaki pants and tries them. Good I get them to zip but they all tight I am going to have to talk to Merri about get a big uniform because even the shirt start to get tight. She heads back downstairs and leaves for work. When she get to work Merri walks over to Alex as she is clocking in.

Merri: Alex’s you have tonight off, way are you here?
Alex: Paige had to stay home Bethany sick.
Merri: What does she have?
Alex: An ear infection.
Merri: Again?
Alex: Yeah, the doctor having Paige take Bethany to an ear, nose and Throat specialist to have tubes put into her ear.
Merri: Tell Paige, she can take as much time of as she needs and that I hope Bethany feels better soon.
Alex: I will, Merri I need to talk to you about getting a bigger size uniform.
Merri: Yeah, you do seem to need a bigger size uniform that one is looking too, tight. Have you gain weighted?
Alex: I am four weeks and five half days pregnant.
Merri: I put an order in for a maternity uniform for you Alex, it should be here in a few days.
Alex: Thanks.
Merri: Do not lift anything heavy if you need to get a need new boxes of anything out, let one of your co-works get it for you.
Alex: Ok
Merri: If you need to take a break to get off your feet or use the bathroom let one of your co-works know that you need a break and go head and take one.
Alex: Ok, can I get to work now.
Merri: Sure.

Alex gets to work getting popcorn, candy and drinks for the movie goes. Meanwhile, back at Michalchuk household Bethany has waken back up and is scream blood murder because her right ear is hurting her really bad and her fever has gone up again. Nothing Paige tries is calming Bethany down.

Chapter Ten: The longest shift ever!
Alex has been at work for three and half hours now. She has already had to refill the pop machine and put nacho cheese into the cheese warmer three times. She is now putting popcorn kernels into the popcorn Popper. She hears Merri walks up behind her and check to see how much malt butter is left in the butter dispenser.

Alex: Merri can you get me, new boxes of nacho chips, M and M, hot dog holder and also more popcorn boxes?
Merri: Sure Alex, why I am doing that put some more butter into the butter dispense.

Merri and her co-work Ken have gone to the back to get the boxes that Alex asks for and Alex is now refilling the butter. She looks over at the soft pretzel display case and sees there are only four pretzels left in the case, so she walks over there and open up the display case and refills it. Merri comes out carrying the box of M and M and hot dog holders. Ken walks over with the box of popcorn boxes and both of then set the box onto the floor for Alex.

Alex: Thanks
Ken: I’m going to sit both of the hot dog holders and popcorn boxes up for you.
Alex: Thanks that will be a big help, because I need to refill the M and M display.

Ken starts put out the popcorn boxes because there is none left. Alex kneels down and starts put M and M into the area of the display case that the M and M go. She looks up when she feels someone taps her on the head and sees that its Spinner, Jay.

Jay: Can we get someone to help us!
Alex: ( Stands up and put her hand on her stomach.) I don’t know can you! What do you want?
Spinner: I want a large Mt. Dew and large popcorn.
Alex: And you Jay?
Jay: Four hot dogs and extra large Mt. Dew.
Alex: I will be right back with your order.

Alex puts the large cup on the pop machine first and push the button. Then she goes over to get Jays hot dogs. As she is open the hot dog raster and the smell of the hot dogs makes her start to gag. She put the four hot dogs into a burn and into the holder then hands them to Jay. She then looks at Ken and he walks up to Alex.

Ken: Is everything alright Alex?
Alex: No, I feeling really nausea all of a sudden.
Ken: Go home, I cover the rest of your shift.
Alex: Thanks

Alex heads into the back and clocks out and starts to walk to the door. At the sometime Merri walks over to her and taps her on the shoulder. Merri can see that Alex look pale and that she is holding her stomachs.

Merri: Morning sickness acting up?
Alex: Yeah, Ken going to cover the rest of my shift so I can go home.
Merri: That fine.

Alex heads to the bathroom and changes into the street cloth she bring with her. She then heads to the front of the mall and catch a bus. She rides the bus to the bus stop by Paige house. Meanwhile, Paige can only get Bethany to stop crying if she singing to her and after three and half hours she has song herself hoarse. Dylan walks through the door from practice and sees Paige is crying and tries to take Bethany from Paige, but his niece would not come to him. Alex comes through the door a few minutes later and Paige walks over to her hold her daughter.

Bethany: Ear hurts Lex!
Alex: I know, come over to me your mom needs a break.

Bethany reaches towards her and Alex takes Bethany form Paige. Bethany rests her head on Alex right shoulder.

Paige: Thanks Lexi.
Alex: Go get some rest Paige.

Paige heads up to her bedroom and lay down on her bed and falls to sleep. Alex takes Bethany into her bedroom and set her on the bed. Bethany grabs the teddy bear that on Alex bed and lay down hugging the teddy bear and goes to sleep. Alex changes into a night-shirts and her PJ bottom. She then walks over to the desk and works on some homework.

Chapter Eleven: The morning of Alex Seventeenth Birthday!
On the morning of April 11, Alex gets wakening up by one and half year- old Bethany’s who is jumping up and down on her bed. Alex sets up in bed and Bethany takes a set on her lap. The little girl smiles really big at her. Paige runs into Alex’s bedroom and sees that she did not get to her girlfriend’s bedroom before her daughter wake Alex up. Bethany looks at her mom, then put her hands over her face, because she knows that her mom is not happy with her. Alex tickles the little girl that is sitting on her lap and Bethany starts to laugh.

Bethany: Lex up!
Paige: I ask you to let Lexi sleep in this morning.
Bethany: No
Alex: Its ok, Paige. I have to get up and use the bathroom anywise.
Paige: All right, but come with me Beth and (Short for Bethany) comes downstairs with me to help grandma and I get Lexi special birthday breakfast ready.
Bethany: Ok, momie!

Bethany stands up and jumps off Alex bed and takes her mom right hand. Then the two of them walk out of Alex’s bedroom together. When they get to the staircase Paige picks up her daughter and carry her downstairs. When Paige and Bethany walk into the living room, Paige set her daughter down on the floor. Bethany then takes her mom right hand and they walk into the kitchen together. When Paige and Bethany walk into the Kitchen, Bethany lets go of her mom hand and runs up to her grandma. Mrs. Michalchuk picks up her granddaughter and set her in the highchair, she push her granddaughter highchair over to the counter top. Paige starts making the Pancakes and Mrs. Michalchuk she starts washes the strawberry. So Bethany thinks she is helping her mom and grandma Mrs. Michalchuk hands her granddaughter a strawberry to play with after she has washed it. Meanwhile upstairs in her bedroom Alex is trying to find a pair of pants to wear, but now of jeans, workout pants or sweatpants she own will fit. She can’t get her jeans to go past her hip. She can pull her workout pants and sweatpants up past her hips, but they are really tight and dig into her hips and stomach. She puts her oversize PJ bottom back on and notices that they are also not as lose on her as they used to be. She walks out of her bedroom and down the hallway and she knocks on Dylan’s bedroom door. Dylan rolls over in his bed and looks at the clock on his night stand. He then gets out of bed and throws on his jeans. He then walks over to his bedroom door and open it up as he runs his left hand through his hair. Dylan sees that its Alex that is knocking on his door, he steps aside from the door and let her into his bedroom.

Dylan: What can I do for you this morning Alex?
Alex: Can I borrow a pair of jeans, because now of mine fit anymore?
Dylan: You only end the fifth week of the pregnancy. Is it normal to gain, so much weighted this early in the pregnancy?
Alex: I am not sure, but I will find out today after school when I go in for my first prenatal check up with Dr. Shoepin, But can I borrow a pair of jeans?
Dylan: Sure, Alex.
Alex: Thanks.

Dylan walks over to his closet and grabs a clean pair of Jeans out of his closet. He walks back over to Alex and hands her the pair of jeans. Alex takes the jeans from him, then walks out of his bedroom. She goes back into her bedroom and changes into the jeans. She then pulls a white tank top over her hand and looks into the mirror that hanging on the inside, of her closet door. She sees that the tank top is even getting too small around her stomach. She grabs her black jacket and she pulls it on and zips it up. She then leaves her bedroom and goes into the bathroom. She does her hair and brush her tooth. She heads downstairs to see Mr. and Mrs. Michalchuk, Paige, Bethany and Dylan setting at the kitchen table wait for her and that Paige has made them all pancakes with strawberry and whip cream on top. Alex sits down in the chair that is between Paige and Bethany and they all start eating breakfast at the sometime.

Chapter Twelve: Alex prenatal check up!
It is now 3:32 p.m. and Alex, Paige and Bethany are in the exam room number three at the health center. Alex’s is set on the exam table and is holding Bethany. Paige is set in the chair next to the exam table. The three girls’ are wait for Dr. Shoepin to come into the room. Bethany is combing her baby doll hair and Alex is helping her. Paige look up at her girlfriend and can tell she is nervous about her doctor appointment.

Bethany: Momie is doll hair pretty?
Paige: Yes, her hair is very pretty. You and Alex did a great job put your dolls hair into pig tails.

Dr. Shoepin walks into the exam room carry Alex’s medical folder and looks at the three girls. He remembers Paige from when she saw his co-worker, Dr. Penbrook. He set Alex’s folder on the counter and pulls his stool over towards Alex. He takes a set and then grabs her folder off the counter. He looks at the notes the nurse wrote down on the first page of the folder.

Dr. Shoepin: I see that you wight 56.70kg (125 lb.) the last time you weight yourselves before get pregnant how much did you weight?
Alex: 47.63 kg (105lb)
Dr. Shoepin: And you are five weeks and one day along?
Alex: Yeah
Dr. Shoepin: Can you hand Bethany to Paige and lay back on the exam table for me, then pull up your shirt, because I am going to do an ultrasound.
Alex: Ok

Paige takes her daughter from Alex and set Bethany on her lap. Alex lays back onto the exam table and pulls her white tank top up, as Dr. Shoepin pulls the ultrasound over to the right side of the exam table and turns the ultrasounds on. Dr. Shoepin squeezes some ultrasound gel onto Alex stomach and then put the probe onto her stomach and begin the ultrasound. He moves the probe under Alex stomach until he finds a fetus. Dr. Shoepin points the fetus out to Alex and Paige. He then moves the probe around to have another look, because he wants to see if she is having twins. He has a feeling that she is having twins, because of the amount of weighted she has gain already . He has only moved the probe a few centimeters when he sees a second fetus. He points the second fetus out to Alex and Paige. Alex looks at Paige as the doctor moves the probe around some more, but he does not find any more fetuses. He place the probe into it holder and wipes the left over gel off Alex stomach and she pulls her tank top down.

Dr. Shoepin: You can set up now Alex.
Alex: (As she sets up.) So, I ‘m having twins Dr. Shoepin?
Dr. Shoepin: Yes
Alex: So that the reason, I have gain so much weight so early into the pregnancy?
Dr. Shoepin: Yeah
Alex: Can you tell what sex the babies are yet?
Dr. Shoepin: No, not till around fifteen to twenty weeks.
Alex: Ok, is everything ok with the babies?
Dr. Shoepin: Yes, both of the fetuses look healthy.
Alex: What else do I need to know?
Dr. Shoepin: I will write you a prescription for prenatal vitamins and try to spent less time on your feet and get more rest. Other then that you are doing fine, I am going to have a nurse come in a give you a flu shoot.
Alex: Ok.

Dr. Shoepin walks out of the exam room and puts Alex’s folder into the holder that is on the outsides of the door. Alex looks over at Bethany and Paige, she sees that Bethany is having a snack of peanut butter cookie crisp. Bethany looks up at Alex and hands her a cookie crisp.

Bethany: Here Lex have one!
Alex: Thanks Bethany, I love to.

Alex takes the cookie crisp from Bethany and eats it. The nurse walks into the room and over to Alex carrying the flu shoot. Nurse Bay wipes the upper part of Alex’s arm off and gives her the shoot. Then Alex takes Bethany from Paige and the three off them walks out of the exam room and head to the counter to make Alex appointment for next month. The three of them head to the mall to pick up Alex prenatal vitamins and to buy her some new outfits. When they get to the mall Paige puts Bethany into her stroller and then the three of them walk into the mall. They go to Fashion bug first. Paige is pushing her daughters’ stroller and helping Alex look for some new clothing. Paige finds a black tank top that she knows Alex will like, so she holds it up to show her. Alex smiles at Paige and takes the tank top from her.

Alex: I love this tank top!
Paige: How about this tan tank top?
Alex: Sure, What about this green long sleeve shirt Paige?
Paige: Sure that shirt would look great on you.

Alex buys these three tank top and two pairs of light blue jeans from Fashion Bug. Then Paige, Bethany and her head to Target. The three girls walk into the store and have to go past the toy sections to get to the women clothing sections. Bethany eyes get really big as the walk past the toys section. Bethany’s sees a doll, on one of the end display and reaches out and grabs it off the shelf.

Bethany: Want Momie!
Paige: No Beth

Paige takes the doll from her daughter hands and places it back on the shelf. The three of them then go right to the women clothing section and find Alex some more shirts, pants, underwear and bras.

Chapter Thirteen: Life choices
Alex and Paige have just clock in at work and are now getting to work. Mrs. Michalchuk has come to picked up her granddaughter. Bethany wave bye to her mom and Alex as her grandmother pushes her stroller away from the movie theater and towards the toy store. Paige and Alex wave bye to Bethany, as Merri walks over to the two of them.

Merri: Bethany is getting so big Paige and she looks more and more like you every day.
Paige: I know, it seems like only yesterday that Bethany was born.
Merri: I need the two of you to closes up tonight, because the twins called in sick again today.
Alex and Paige: Ok, Merri.

Merri walks back through the door and head to her office to answer the phone that is ringing. Alex gets to work refilling the popcorn kernels and Paige takes care of Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Simpson and they son Jack who have walked up to the counter. After Alex has finish refilling the popcorn kernels’ Alex place both her hands onto her growing stomach and knows that she has several choices ahead of her, but the first thing that she needs to do is talk with her mom. After Mr. Simpson, Mrs. Nash and Jack have their pops and popcorn and pay for everything, Paige walks up behind Alex’s and she wrapped her arms around her girlfriend waists.

Paige: Sweetie, what is wrong?
Alex: Nothing it just I need to start looking for a place to live, your parents’ have been so nice to me, but there not enough room at they house for two more babies.
Paige: Dylan can always move into the extra bedroom that in the basement, and his room can be turned into another baby bedroom and if one of your babies is a girl, Bethany could share her bedroom.
Alex: I can’t ask Dylan to do that or ask your parents’ that big of a favor Paige.
Paige: How about we get a start house together, My mom and dad will help us with the down payment seeing that we both have jobs already.
Alex: Sure I’m cool with that.
Paige: Ok we will pick up a house for sales’ book on our way out of the mall tonight.
Alex: OK, that sounds good. Paige will you come with me after we get off work, so I can talk to my mom?
Paige: Sure, Lexi.

Meanwhile, at the sometime Mrs. Michalchuk and Bethany are at the KB toy store and they are looking at the dolls. Bethany grabs a crabbage patch doll that has blonde hair and hazel eyes off the shelf. Mrs. Michalchuk takes the doll from her granddaughter and look to sees how much it cost. Mrs. Michalchuk hands the doll to her granddaughter to hold. She pushes Bethany’s stroller up to the check out counter and pays for the doll. Then Mrs. Michalchuk and Bethany head to Fashionable Toddler. So Mrs. Michalchuk can buy her granddaughter new clothing, because she has grown out of most of her clothing. It is now12:34 a.m. and Paige is holding Alex right hand as they wait for Emily or Chad to answers the apartment door. After several minutes the door open up and Emily run up to Alex and gives her a big bear hug. The three ladies then walk into the apartment and take a set on the couch.

Emily: So Lexi, the note you left me said you were pregnant, are you and my grandchild health?
Alex: Yeah I am health and so are both of your grandchildren.
Emily: More then one?
Alex: Yeah, I am having twin mom!
Emily: What bring you by tonight Lexi, because Chad not going to let you movie back in, he was hurt that you says that it was not save to live with him, because he is too abusive and now that you are with child, it is too big of a safety risks for you to live with Chad.
Alex: (Takes a form out of her purse.) I need you to sign this form, so I can take the money my birth father left me when he dead!
Emily: You are not twenty -one yet!
Alex: That way I need you to sing the form mom.
Emily: I want you to use the money for college Lexi!
Alex: It is not enough money to pay for college, but it will be enough to help Paige and I put a down payment on a start house.
Emily: (Take the form.) Fine, because I want my grandchildren to have a better life then what I was able to give you.

Emily head the form back to Alex and Emily then sees Paige and Alex out, because they hear Chad move around in the bedroom. Emily hugs her daughter one more time, then Paige and Alex walk down the hallway toward the staircase.

Chapter Fourteen: The prefect house!
It has now been to weeks and five days since Paige and Alex talk about buying a house together and Alex is at the ended of the ninth week of the pregnancy. They have been looking at houses all day when Paige pulls her suv into the driveway of a two-story light-blue bungalow house. Paige puts the suv into parked and then turns it off, then Alex and Paige get out of the car. Paige open the back door and get Bethany out of her boost seat and then the three of them walk up to the front door. The Real estate agent open the front door and lets them into the house. When the three of them walk into the house they enter into the Living room. Which is paint a lovely shade of lilac and Bethany open up a door that is on the wall under the staircase that lead to the second floor. Alex and Paige see that the door is to a closet. The Real estate agent then walks them through the living room past the staircase that leads upstairs and into the master bedroom that downstairs.

Paige: Cool the master bedroom is paint sky blue with stars on the ceiling has stars paint on it.
Alex: I like it.

Paige (carrying Bethany) and Alex then walks across the living room to the small hall across from the front door of the house and into the master bathroom that is connect to the bedroom. They see that there the toilet is on they right up against the center of the wall and on they left next to the door is the bathroom sink and then up against the wall is the bathtub.

Paige: Look at the open door across from us it leads into a walk in closeted.
Alex: That neat.

The four of them walk out of the master bedroom and they fellow Anne from the real estate agent upstairs to the second floor. The first room they look at is the upstairs bathroom. Paige, Alex and Bethany see that bathtub is on they right as they walk into the bathroom and that the toilet is also on their right side between the bathtub and the far wall, which has a small window look out into the back yard . They then notice that the bathroom sink is across from the toilet.

Bethany: Cool the bathroom is paint gold.
Alex: Yeah

Then all four of them walk out of the bathroom and then head to the bedroom that on the left , but on the right as you come up the stairs. They see that the tops half of the bedroom walls are yellow and the bottoms half of the walls are pink. They then go across the hallway to the second bedroom. Which is on the right hands side if you are coming out of the bathroom and the left-hand side if you are walking up the stairs. They see that in this room the top half of the bedroom walls is paint blue and the bottom of the walls is painted yellow.

Alex: This room will work if I have a boy, but we could always repaint it.
Paige: Or do the nursery in a night sky with moon and stars Lexi.
Alex: That would work.

The four of them all head back downstair and head into the kitchen which in the right when you coming in from the front door and on the left if you are walking from the master bedroom or stairs. When they enter the kitchen Paige, Alex and Bethany see on the wall across from them is the counter that has the kitchen sink in it. They notice that as you enter the kitchen the kitchen table is by the window that face the front yard. As you enter the kitchen, the refrigerated is on the left-hand side and on the other side of the refrigerated is the counter top then the stove/over. Then some more counter top that goes around the corner. At the ended of the counter top there is a door, which is open to reveal the laundry room. This is also the room where the hot water tank, center air and heat are.

Real estate agent Anne: So do you want to buy the house?
Alex: Yeah
Real estate agent Anne: Ok, lets set at the kitchen table and fill the paperwork out.

Paige set Bethany down on the kitchen fall and hand her doll to play with. She then joins Alex and Anne at the table. Alex and Paige say the paperwork that saying they buy the house. Then Alex writes out check with they amount for the house and hands to the real estate agent and Anne hands her the Alex and Paige they copy of the paperwork saying they own the house together.

Real estate agent Anne: You can move in right away if you want to.
Paige: Ok.

Alex takes the keys to the house from Anne as Paige picks up her daughter then the three of them head back to Paige parents and start packing up they stuff.

* I made up the name of the street the house is on that Paige and Alex are moving into.
Chapter Fifteen: Moving day part one
It is six o’clock in the morning two days later Alex is giving Bethany a bath while Paige is helping her mom, dad and brother Dylan load the moving truck up with her, Alex and Bethany boxes. Bethany starts kicking her feet and hit the water with her hands which splash Alex getting her all wet. Alex puts her hands in the water and splash Bethany back, the little girl laugh start laughing when Alex splashes her back.

Bethany: Lex you make bath fun thanks!
Alex: You are welcome.

Bethany notice that Alex has just pick up her children shampoo. Bethany slide away from Alex and covers her ears with her hands. Alex look at Bethany as she open up the shampoo and gives her a little smile.

Alex: Bethany, I know your ears are bothering you again, I will be careful and not get any water in your ears.
Bethany: Alright

Bethany’s slide closes to Alex and takes her hands off her ears. Alex careful gets Bethany hair wet and then squeezes some shampoo onto her left hand. Alex then rubs the shampoo into Bethany hair as she plays with her doll in the tub. After she finishes rubbing the shampoo into Bethany hair and then she washes the shampoo off her hands then hands Bethany’s a dry washcloth too hold over both her eyes.

Alex: I am going to rinsing the shampoo out of you hair now hold the washcloth over your eyes.
Bethany: Ok Lex

Bethany puts the washcloth over her eyes and Alex turns the hand hold shower head back on and wash the shampoo out of the little girls’ hair. No soon then she has flipped the drain switch to drain the tub Bethany stands up and lets Alex wash the bubble bath off of her. Alex turns the shower off and then wrap Bethany in her pink bath towel around her. She then lifts Bethany out of the bathtub and dry Bethany off. She then helps Bethany put her underwear and grey skirt on. Alex then pulls Bethany’s White t-shirt that has a pink flower on the front over the girls’ head. Bethany then takes Alex left hand and the two of them walks over to the bathroom door. Alex opens the door with her free hand and they walk out of the bathroom together. They had just walk out of the bathroom when Paige comes up the stairs and walks over them. Paige picks up her daughter and the little girl smiles at her mommy.

Paige: Was Lexi careful not to get water in your ears?
Bethany: Yeah, she did not get any water in my ears.
Paige: Did Bethany behavior for you Lexi?
Lexi: Yeah she was on her best behavior.

Mrs. Michalchuk walks up the stairs and stops at the top steps. She looks at her daughter, Granddaughter and Alex then she sighs. The three girls look at Mrs. Michalchuk and she looks back at them with a worry look on her face.

Paige: What wrong mom?
Mrs. Michalchuk: Neither, it just my baby girl, granddaughter and my baby girl friend are moving out. I did not think that Bethany and you would move out so soon is all.
Paige: Mom it for the best and besides I was going to move out at the start of my senior year it just been pushed up by four months.
Mrs. Michalchuk: I know it is just hard seeing you move out.
Paige: I will be fine and beside Alex, Bethany and I are only moving a few streets over to Blossom streets.
Mrs. Michalchuk: Let get this over with then Dylan and your dad, have finish loading the moving truck and have already left for house.
Paige: Ok mom, are you ride in my suv or follow us in your min van?
Mrs. Michalchuk: I am going to follow you there because we had to load a few of Bethany’s boxes into the van there was not room in your car Paige or in the moving truck.
Paige: Ok

Alex, Paige carrying Bethany and Mrs. Michalchuk walk downstairs and then they walk outside. Mrs. Michalchuk gets into her min van as Paige is bulk Bethany into her Bethany in suv that Paige owns and drives. Alex gets into the passengers’ seat and puts her seat belt on, once Bethany hooked into her booster seat Paige gets into the driver seat. Mrs. Michalchuk back out first and then Paige back out after her. During the three minute drive both Paige and Mrs. Michalchuk had to stop for one stop sign and one red light.
