It the second week of school for the 2002-2003 school year and Ellie Nash Is start her first day of 9 grade at her new school. Ellie Mom, dad and her just move to the area because her Dad was transference to the army base in Toronto. The one thing Ellie was happy about was that in this town she was going to a public school the last place they live she was in an all girl private school, which she hated because she had to wear a uniform and No one would even talk to her. She could wear what she wants to at Degrassi and hope that she could make some friends here. If they start in one place long for her to even make friends. The one thing she really wants is to finish high school at the some school, and she hopes this is her family last move for a while, and. Also hope that been close to her mother family will hope her mom drink less. Ellie sits on her bed put her black army boot on and ties them. When she hears her dad yell up the stairs.
Mr. Nash: Ellie did you want me to give you a ride to school?
Ellie: Yeah dad that be great.
She stands up and looks in the mirror one last time to make sure her black skirt is straight and that the red tank top is cover the areas that needs to be cover up which is under her black see through top. She then checks to make sure her pig tails are even. Then grab her book bag and run down the stairs and out the front door and get into her dad car.
Mr. Nash: Ellie it so good to see you with a smile on your face again.
Ellie: I have a good feel about Degrassi, I might even be able to make some friends here.
Mr. Nash: I hope so, you were so unhappy at you last school, it breaks my heart to sent you there, but it was the only school in town beside the boy’s school.
Ellie: I know dad, I just hope we do not have to move again.
Mr. Nash: I think we be here for a while Ellie.
Ellie: Good
Mr. Nash pulls the car in front of the school and Ellie gets out grabs her book bag and wave bye to her dad and head into the school and goes to the office to pick her class schedule up. Once she has her schedule, she sees her first class is Media Immersion with Mr.Simpson. She walks to the M.I. Lab and take a sitting in the three-row, and log onto the Internet and set up her locker page like the lady at the office told her to, and chose a password and make up her school email address too. Just then Hazel and Paige come walk into the room and over to the three roll and Paige stop by Ellie.
Paige: You in my seat new girl so move.
Ellie; (looks at Paige) I do not see you name on the seat anywhere and I ain't gonna to move to because you think you can tell me what to do. So go sit somewhere else.

The rest of the media Immersion class slower comes into the classroom and everyone Look at Ellie as they take a seat, and the reason everyone was look at her was Paige was still yell at her about the Seat Till Mr.Simpson walk into the classroom. Then Hazel and Paige went and took a seat in the first row. Ashley and Macro each take the two free seats by Ellie.
Ashley: That was Paige. She Degrassi queen bee. And by the way I'm Ashley.
Eille: My name Ellie, I just Move to town. Has Paige always been that bossy?
Ashley: yeah, she been like that since she could talk. we use to be friends, but at the end of last year, we stop be friends. She also not very forgive either.
Ellie: why do you say that?
Ashley: because I take E at the end of the school year last year and call her a name and she won’t forgive me for it.
Ellie: You were high you did not know what you were say.
Ashley: Believe me lots of people try to tell her that she does not care.
Ellie: Then it her loss because you seem real nice.
Ashley: Yeah, it is her loss. You want to be friends?
Ellie: sure.
Macro: Hi my name id Marco here a copy of the notes you miss last week Ellie.
Ellie: thanks Macro.

After school gets out Ellie and Ashley goes to the Mall to do some shopping. For the fun of it Ashley Try on some Clothing at Hottopic: Which is the Store Ellie want to go to.
Ashley open the fit room door to show Ellie what the outfit she try on looks like, It was a pair of black pants, a black tank tops with a black see through shirt on top of it.
Ashley: what do you think?
Ellie: It looks good on you.
Ashley: that what I thought to.
Ashley goes back into the fit room and change back into the cloth she wear to school and then her and Ellie go and pay for the stuff they are going to buy. Ashley looks at the time on her cellphone as they walk out of the store.
Ashley: I have to go home Now I'll see at school tomorrow.
Ellie: ok, Bye.
After another hour of walk around the Mall Ellie head home to find her dad not home yet, she goes inside and find her mom pass out on the couch. And check the answering machine and see there is one massage.
Mr. Nash: I have a Meet at the Base tonight so I will not be home to around 10pm. Ellie If you Mom not up yet, our is out when you get home order your self a pizza. Love dad.
Ellie Call Ashley Cellphone.
Ashley: Hi Ellie
Ellie: do you have dinner yet?
Ashley: no why
Ellie: you think I can come over for dinner my mom sick and my dad work late and we have not been to the food store yet.
Ashley: sure here my address. Ellie grabs her purse and leaves a note for her mom just in case she gets up, then leave and head to Ashley house.
At Ashley house.
Ashley: This is my Mom Mrs. Kerwin, Mom this is Ellie and that Mr. Isaac at the Stove.
Just then Toby walks up to Ellie.
Toby: Hi I'm Toby, Ashley Steps bother.

After dinner Ellie help Ashley cleans up the kitchen, before head home, as she walks to the front door to leave Mrs. Kerwin walk over to her.
Mrs. Kerwin: Can I give you a ride home?
Ellie: No, I can walk home it not that far and I like walking, But thanks for the offer anyway.
Ellie gets back to her house and opens the front door and walk in and closes behind her a lock it and starts to walk further into the house and see her mom pass out on the staircase. She runs up to her mom and kneels down next to her. She light shakes her.
Ellie: Mom wake up come on, she could not wake her up so she calls 911 and they come and take her mom to the ER, Ellie rides in the ambulance with her mom. Once at the Hospital Ellie has to wait in the wait room as they take care of her mom, so she calls her dad cellphone.
Mr. Nash: Lt. Nash speak
Eille: Dad you need to come to Toronto General hospital, I come home from having dinner at my new friend Ashley and find mom passes out on the staircase and could not get her up, and had to call an ambulance.
Mr. Nash: I’m on my way.
Ellie: ok dad.
Ellie dad comes run through the emergency room door fifteen minute later, Just as Doctor Fuzzier come walk up to Ellie.
Dr. Fuzzier: I take it you Ellie dad Mr. Nash
Mr. Nash: yes that me.
Dr. Fuzzier: We had to pump you wife stomach, because she had alcohol poisoning. She fine now, we going watch her for a couple hours and then you can take her home.
Three hours late the three get home Ellie goes up to her bedroom and does her homework then goes to bed.

The next day Ellie over sleep and run late for her second day at her new school.
Mr. Simpson: you late miss. Nash.
Ellie: sorry I over sleep, I did not get to bed to really late my mom was really sick last night and I come home and find her pass out on the staircase and had to call 911 to take to the hospital.
Mr. Simpson: I won’t mark you late this time but try to be on time for now on Miss. Nash.
Ellie: yes Mr. Simpson
Ellie goes and takes a sit next to Ashley and Marco. Then turn on her computer and start doing her Media Immersion work.
Macro: Ellie you look really tire and like something is bother you?
Ellie: Nothing bother me, that a couple more hours of sleep could not fix.
Ashley: I have only know you for one day Ellie, but I can tell when something bother someone and something is bother you!
Ellie: I have a headache for not get enough sleep is all, and I hunger, I do not have time to get breakfast this morning.
Mr.Simpson: you three need to stop talk and do you work.
Three of them start work on the assignment again, but both Macro and Ashley could tell Ellie was not tell the whole truth on something that was bother her. But do not push her to talk to them about the rest of the day, Because they both could tell that she was not feeling a 100%, and she also looks a little pale.

Ellie gets home from school to find her Mom and Dad Fight over what happen the night before.
Mr. Nash: You need to get help, Ellie should not have to come home and to find you pass out on the floor or the staircase. Like she did last night.
Mrs. Nash: So I drink a little more then I could handle.
Mr. Nash: I transfer here because you tell me that you stop drink if you were in the same town as your family. We been here for three and a half day now, And you have already been taken to the ER, because of the drink. You need to get help you have a drink problem.
Mrs. Nash: I do not have a drink problem, I can stop drink on my own.
Ellie: yeah right Mom, you have not been able to, the last three time you say you would. What make this time any different then before mom. You need to go to AAA and get counseling.
Mrs. Nash: I do not need to go to AAA or get counseling for someone I do not know. I am able to do it this time.
Ellie: Yeah right, I will believe it when I see it Mom.
Mr. Nash: Honey Ellie rights you need help.
Mrs. Nash: No ( walk to the front door open it up and leave the house slam shout behind her).
Mr. Nash: let go get some dinner Ellie.
Ellie: sure.
That evening Ellie is laying on her bed in her bedroom when she hears her mom come home and Slum the front doors shouts and bang up the stairs to the bathroom and get sick. Ellie rolls over and put her pillow her hand to help block out the noise her mom is make.


But put the pillow over her head does not help block the nosie out. All Ellie want was to get a good night sleep. She had a bad headache all day and it was even worse now plus her stomach was really hurting, When her dad takes her out to dinner she did not even want to eat, when her dad asks why she was not touch her food, she did not want to tell him she did not have an appetite or that everything look unappetizing to her. So she made herself eat. Her mom finally stops get sick and goes into her bedroom and goes to bed. It felt like she just gets to sleep when her alarm clock went off in her ear. The truth was she spends half the night throw up .She knows she should stay home, but she did not want stay home with her mom, so she gets out of bed and gets dress, then goes downstairs and sits down at the table. She makes herself eat two pieces of toast. She then picks up her book bag and meet her dad out at his jeep.

Mr. Nash: Ellie is everything ok, you normal do not wear Jeans and a long sleeve T-shirt, and you have no make up on?
Ellie: yeah, just run late this morning is all.

Neither Ellie nor her dad talks the whole way to Degrassi, when her dad pulls up in front of the school he kisses Ellie good bye on the forehead. As she grabs her book bag off the jeep floor.

Mr. Nash: Ellie you are run a little warm are you sure you are up to go to school?
Ellie: yeah dad I’ll be fine.

Ellie gets out and walks into school, but only makes into the door and stops die in her tacker and grab her stomach and lean up against the door she just come through. Ashley walks up to her and look at her.

Ashley: Ellie are you ok?
Ellie: Yeah I just need to use the restroom I’ll meet you in class
Ashley: are you sure?
Ellie: yeah

As soon as Ashley had got out of view Ellie put her hand over her mouth and runs into the girls’ locker room and over to the restroom part, and into one of the stall and start get sick to her stomach. She finally stops get sick right as the last bell rings; which mean she was late for the second day in a roll. She stands up and heads to the M.I. lab, and was glad to see Mr. Simpson was not in the room yet. She sits down next to Marco, Ashley and Terri who were sit in the first roll by the door and they save her the seat right on top of the door, as she sits down she moves the trash by the door over next to her in case she needs it really fast.

Terri: is that Ellie, Ashley?
Ashley: yeah, Ellie you luck that Mr. Simpson late or you would be mark late.
Ellie: ( make gag sound) I could not be help.
Marco: you not sound too good Ellie

Ellie makes another gag sound then end up lean over the trash can and throw up again Ashley pull Ellie hair out of her face., Ellie could not stop throwing up this time, she was still getting sick when Mr. Simpson walks into the classroom. Mr. Simpson walks over to her and Kneel down and wait to she not get sick to talk to her. When Ellie finally stop get sick she lean her back against the back of the chair and close her eyes.

Mr.Simpson: Are you ok?
Ellie: now I am.
Mr.Simpson I think you should go to the nurse and get a pass to go home sick Miss Nash.
Ellie: no please don’t send me to the nurse I won’t get sick again I’m fine now.
Mr. Simpson: you do not look fine!
Ellie: I’m fine, gags, really I am
Mr. Simpson: Ok

Ellie just make through first hour without get sick, when the bell rings she run into the girls restroom and can’t even make to the bathroom stall she make it only as far as the trash can. As she was getting sick, a girl with middle length black hair walks into the restroom and over to her and pulls her hair out of her face.

Ellie: ( after she stops throw up) Thanks
Alex: no big deal, you new here right
Ellie: yeah, my name Ellie
Alex: my name Alex, but you can call me Lexi, I was sitting across from you in M.I. lab
Ellie: can you show me where the nurse stations is, I want to go home?
Alex: sure

Alex show Ellie where the nurse station is, then had to class. Ellie Sit down on a chair in the nurse station. Nurse Mckey walks over to Ellie and put the ear thermometer in her ear.

Nurse Mckey: what wrong?
Ellie: My stomach is really upset and I can’t keep anything down. I also feel ache all over and I think I’m run a fever.

The thermometer beeps thirty seconds later and the nurse Mckey takes it out of Ellie Ear and looks at it.

Nurse Mckey: you are run a fever of 103.9, I’m have to call you mom and have her pick you up from school. In the mean time you can lay down on the bed over there.
Ellie: thanks.

Ellie goes and lays down as nurse Mckey walk back over to her desk and calls Ellie houses. The phone ring six times before Mrs. Nash picks it up.

Mrs. Nash: Mrs. Nash, speck.
Nurse Mckey: This is Degrassi Community school nurse , You need to come and pick your daughter Ellie up for school.
Mrs. Nash: What wrong with her?
Nurse Mckey: She running a fever of 103.9 and can’t keep anything down.
Mrs. Nash: I’ll be there it a half hour.
Nurse Mckey: Ok.

Ellie mom walks into the school a half hour later and heads to the nurse station. When she get there. She sees Ellie lean over a tash can throw up.

Mrs. Nash: Ellie hurry up, I have things to do today and watch you throw up is not one of them.

Ellie sits up and looks at her mom. She slower stands up and grabs her book bag and walk out of the nurse stations with her mom and the two of them head out to her mom’s car. Mrs. Nash make Ellie sit in the backseat. Ellie close her eyes and lean her head up against the window, on the ride home. As soon as they get home Ellie grabs her book bag and runs up the stairs and into her bedroom. She drops her book bag on the floor and runs into the connected bathroom and over to the toilet and start get sick again.

Mrs. Nash: keep it down Ellie, I have a killer headache and I am try to sleep.
Ellie: Retch, I try mom.
Mrs. Nash: don’t try just do it.

Ellie finish get sick and walks out of her bathroom and into her room and get into bed and pulls the cover up and cry her self to sleep.

Ellie gets wakening up by a ringing door bell. Ellie looks at the clock on her night stand and sees it is now one o’clock. She makes herself get out of bed know that her mom won’t get the door. She slowly walks downstairs and open up the front door to see the fax delivery men stand on their door step.

Delivery men: I need someone to sign for this package for an Ellie Nash.
Ellie: I can sign for it.

The delivery man’s hands Ellie his clip broad and show her where to sign. Ellie, sign her name and then hands him the clip broad back and he hands Ellie the package. Ellie takes the package and then closes the front door. She starts to walk back upstairs with her package, but get really dizzy and has to take a sat on the step. While she set waiting for the dizzy spell to end Ellie open her package up and found it the bedspread and Matches sheets, pillow cases. She drops it back in the box really fast and runs to the downstairs bathroom because she has really bad abdominal cramps. She just very gets into the bathroom and sat down on the toilet on time. As she use the bathroom she thinks to herself. Great now I can’t keep anything down but I also have diarrhea too. She still uses the bathroom when she hears her mom walking down the stairs and then hear her mom trip over the box that on the four to last steps. Ellie laughs to herself. Thinking my mom could at lest watch where she walking.

Mrs. Nash: Eleanor Maire Nash, I tell you before never leave things on the stairs. Someone could trip and get hurt!
Ellie: Sorry, gags, Mom’s I’m sorry.

Ellie puts her left hand over her mouth then grabs the trash can. Ellie pulls the tash can over to her and then throws up in it. The next thing she hears is her mom bang on the bathroom door.

Mrs. Nash: You know that you are only supposed to use the bathroom connects to your bedroom if you are sick not one that everyone uses!
Ellie: Retch
Mrs. Nash: get out of the downstairs bathroom now Eleanor Maire Nash!
Ellie: Retch, I can’t , retch
Mrs. Nash: Fine but you are clean the downstairs bathroom when you are finish uses’ it.

When Mrs. Nash does not get an answer back from Ellie she starts bang on the door again, but this time gets hit with the door when Ellie open it up. Ellie walks out of the bathroom hold her stomach and head to the stairs. Ellie then picks up her package then heads upstairs to her bedroom and set the box on her bed then close her bedroom door.

Ellie set down on the end of her bed and close her eyes. She hate being sick and she really hates that her mom does not care enough to help out or she if she is ok. She should stay at school at lest there the teacher care enough to ask her if she is ok or need to see the nurse. She just about to lays down when the phone start ring, she decides to lays down anyway hope her mom will get the phone. She set the box on the floor at the end of her bed and curls up into a ball on her bed hold her stomach. She can still hear the phone ring after twenty rings the person must of get the hint that no one was gonna to pick up and hang the phone up. She thinks to herself my mom must of pass back out of went out for more Alcohol. She has just start to fall asleep when the phone start ringing again. She reach over to her night stand on pick up her cordless phone and put the phone up to her ear.

Ellie: Ellie Nash here
Mr. Nash: Ellie what are you doing home from school?
Ellie: The school nurse sent me home I have a fever 103.9 and I also have diarrhea and keep throwing up.
Mr. Nash: Did you mom pick you up from school or make you take the bus like she did last year when you get the flu?
Ellie: She come and pick me up, but was drunk.
Mr. Nash: Is she home right now Ellie?
Ellie: I’m not sure she let the phone ring twenty times the call right before you.
Mr. Nash: Which means she probably not home and did not turn the answers machine on since you are home.
Ellie: Dad I need to let you go the room is start to spin on me.
Mr. Nash: Ok baby, I’m going to go talk to officer in charges of my unit and tell him I have to go home because my daughter is sick.
Ellie: Thanks Dad.
Mr. Nash: I love, I see you when I get home.
Ellie: Love you to

She hits the off button on the phone and set down on the night stand. She close her eyes and take a few deep breaths try to block out how nausea she is feeling and hope that by close her eyes the room would stop spin but when she open her eyes a few sec later the room was still spin. She get out of bed and runs into the bathroom.

Mr. Nash walks through the front door of the house and sees his wife pour herself a glass of Vodka and sees several empty bottles and six full bottles still on the coffee table. He shakes his head at his wife, before he runs upstairs to check on Ellie. He knocks on her bedroom door but she does not answers him so he open up her bedroom door and walks into her bedroom only to see that she was in her bathroom and the door was close. He walks up to the door and knocks, but does not hear anything.

Mr. Nash: Ellie are you ok?
Ellie: Yeah, I think so I am just using the bathroom right now Dad.
Mr. Nash: I going to go downstairs and talk to your mom, then I come back up and check on you Baby.
Ellie: Ok, Dad.

Mr. Nash walks back downstairs and throws out all the empty vodka bottles out and he pours the full down the sink, then throw the bottles out. Mrs. Nash walks over to him and push her husband.

Mrs. Nash: Why did you do that I was going to drink them!
Mr. Nash: Because you need help, you are so drunk you can’t even take care of our fourteen year old daughter who has the stomach flu, Instead of help her like a normal mom does you just pour yourself another drink!
Mrs. Nash: I pick her up from school, beside she is old enough to take care of herself. I take care of myself at fourteen.
Mr. Nash: And look how you turn out.
Mrs. Nash: Burps, besides Ellie doing a good job at take care of herself. She does not need my help.

Meanwhile, at the sometime Ellie has come out of her bathroom and crawl back into bed. She has only been back in bed for a few minutes. She is listening to her Dad and Mom fight when she feels like she needs to go back into the bathroom to get sick to her stomach again. She tries to stand up but gets really dizzy and falls back down onto her bed. She starts heave all over her bed and at the sometime let out a very juice side fart that was not a frat at all. She starts crying really hard at the sometime continue to keep heave. Mr. and Mrs. Nash stop talk when they hear Ellie crush onto her bed then starts make a loud heave sound.

Mr. Nash: Does your daughter sound ok to you?
Mrs. Nash: Yeah.

Mr. Nash looks at his wife he grabs her arm and drags her upstairs and to their daughter’s bedroom. He open Ellie, bedroom door and pulls his wife into her room with him. Ellie looks up at her parents for a few minutes. She then crawls to the end of her bed and slide off her bed onto her bedroom floor. She starts crawl towards her bathroom but only makes it to the trash can beside her desk, before she starts throwing up again Ellie pulls the trash can over to her and wraps her arms around it. Mr. Nash runs over to his daughter and help her up, Ellie keeps her arms warp around the desk trash can as her dad helps her into her bathroom. Ellie stops getting sick and looks up at her dad.

Ellie: Dad, I need to use the bathroom again, then I need to get into theshower and clean up can you get me a clean pair of underwear, bra, pajamas. Can you change my bedding for me, because I get sick all over it and also had a very lose bowel moving all over mine bed.
Mr. Nash: Sure, baby, I will put your new bedding set on your bed for you.
Ellie: Can you please leave the bathroom door crack, because I am really weak and might need some help from you dad.
Mr. Nash: Sure, I who listen for you, just shout if you need me.
Ellie: Thanks

Mr. Nash walks back out of his daughter bathroom and finds that his wife has left Ellie bedroom and she close Ellie bedroom door behind her. Mr. Nash takes the dirty bedding off Ellie bed and puts the red sheet with gold stars on his daughter bed, he then put the flat sheet over the fitting sheet. he take the pillow case out of the box. After he has all four of the pillow cases on his daughter pillows, he put the match bedspread onto the bed. By now he hears the shower in Ellie bathroom is on. He walks over to her dresser and opens the top drawer. He grabs Ellie, a clean bra and underwear. Mr. Nash then open the second drawer and take out a black tank top and her black pajamas bottom out. Mr. Nash walks into the bathroom and set the clean clothing on the sink for Ellie. He also grabs her dirty clothing as her walks out of the bathroom and picks up the dirty bedding on the way out of her bedroom. He then takes the bedding downstair to the basement and puts into the washer machine and puts it to soak. He heads back upstairs and goes back to Ellie bedroom. He walks throws his daughter bedroom door just in time to see Ellie walk out of her bathroom. Ellie grabs the door frame and looks at her dad.

Ellie: Dad can your help me over to my bed I am too weak to make it there on my own?
Mr. Nash: Sure.

Mr. Nash walks over to Ellie and put his arm around her waist and help her into her bed. He pulls the bedspread back for her and Ellie gets into bed. Mr. Nash pulls the bedspread up and lays it over his daughter. He then feels her forehead and knows he needs to take her temperature.

Mr. Nash: Ellie you are burn up, I am going to go grab the thermometer out of your bathroom medication cabinet and then I am going to take your temperature.
Ellie: I already take it after I get out off the shower. I have a fever of 40.5 (104.9).
Mr. Nash: I am going to go wet a washcloth down with cool water then come back and wipe you face off with it to help cool you off.
Ellie: Thanks dad.

Mr. Nash goes and wets a washcloth down with cool water then walks back into his daughter room and over to her bed. He set down on the edge of her bed and wipe her face off, when he is done wipe her face off he folds the washcloth in half and set it on Ellie forehead. By now Ellie has fall asleep, so Mr. Nash slower stands up and walks out of Ellie bedroom and goes to his and Mrs. Nash bedroom and change out of his army clothing and into everyday clothing. He then goes downstairs to find his wife.

Mrs. Nash walks through the floor door of the hour and half later carrying a large brown paper bag fill of Vodka. She walks into the kitchen and sets the bag down onto the table. Mr. Nash walks up to her and take her keys and drive license and the bag full of Vodka. He then walks outside and throws the bag full of vodka down onto the driveway and the bottles all broken. He then heads back into the house and up to the attic. He locks his wife’s keys and drive license into his dad old army trunk. He knows she will not be able to get them out of the trunk, because he has the only key and from now on the key will be keep in his locker on the army base. He has just put the key to the army truck in his front pocket with his wife comes through the attic door.

Mrs. Nash: What are you doing?
Mr. Nash: Keep you from buy more Vodka, you are cut off. You might not want to get help for yourself, at lest do it for your daughter.
Mrs. Nash: I do not drink too, much and I do not need help.
Mr. Nash: Yes, you do I will not feel comfortable leave Ellie here with you right now if I were to get ship out.
Mrs. Nash: Fine, I try to be a better mom and not drink.
Mr. Nash: That all I want.

Just then Ellie comes up to the attic door and she leans up against the door frame. Mr. Nash and Mrs. Nash sees that their daughter is holding her stomach with both hands.

Mr. Nash: What do you need Ellie?
Ellie: Can you keep it down, my head is killing me?
Mrs. Nash: I am leave!

Mrs. Nash walks out of the door and down the two flights of stairs. She then heads out the front door of the house. She slums the door shut behind her. As her mom walk out of the attic Ellie walks over and takes a set on top of her grandfather old army trunk and rest her elbows on her knees and rest her head in her hands. Mrs. Nash walks over to his daughter and kneels down in front of her. Ellie looks up at her dad and starts crying, he pulls her into a hug and runs his hands through her hair as she cries on his shoulder. When she done cry she looks at her dad and he notices that she is shivering. He places his right hand onto her forehand and feels that she is burning up.

Mr. Nash: Ellie let get you back to your bedroom and into bed. Then I am going to take your temperature.
Ellie: All right dad!

Mr. Nash helps Ellie up and down the staircase to the second floor and into her bedroom. Ellie gets back into bed as her dad goes into her bathroom and gets the thermometer out of the medicine cabinet. Why he in the bathroom Ellie starts having a coughing fit. Her dad walks out of the bathroom. He hands Ellie the thermometer and she puts the thermometer into her mouth. When the thermometer beeps thirty seconds later, Ellie takes it out of her mouth and hands to her dad.

Mrs. Nash: You have a fever of 40.5 C (104.9 F)
Ellie: It still has not gone down.
Mrs. Nash: But it has not gone up, so that a good thing.
Ellie: I want to go back to sleep now, dad!
Mr. Nash: I think you should drink something.
Ellie: No, I am too, nausea Dad.
Mr. Nash: Ok, but when you get up you are going to drink something.

With that Mrs. Nash leave Ellie bedroom and lets her get some sleep.

At three o’clock that afternoon Alex Nunez and Jay Hogart walk up to the front doll of the Nash house and Jay rings the doll bell, since Alex has her hand full with Ellie homework for today, Thursday, Friday and next week. Mr. Nash comes up to the front door and answers the door hope that he open up the door, before the sound of the door bell wakes Ellie up. When he open the door he sees a girl and a boy around Ellie age stand on his front door.

Mr. Nash: Can I help you?
Alex: Hi, I Alex and the guy that standing next to me is Jay we go to school with Ellie. We have brought Ellie homework for the rest of this weeks and for next week over.
Mr. Nash: That nice of you.

Mr. Nash is taking the homework from Alex when his daughter walks downstairs. She walks over to her dad and look at Alex and her boyfriend Jay. Ellie leans up against the wall and closes her eyes. Mr. Nash set her homework down on the bench, then both Jay and Mr. Nash notice Ellie legs start to give out so they run over to her. Jay puts her right arm around her left side and Mr. Nash his left arm around her right side. Then the two of them help Ellie over to the couch. Alex’s walk into the house and close the front door and watch her boyfriend help Ellie dad gets her to the couch. Once Ellie is laying on the couch, Jay walks back over to Alex and wraps his right arm around her.

Jay: We should go and let Ellie rest, that and you can’t afford to get sick Lexi!
Alex: Jay I will be fine, It a new school year. So I have excuse absents still.
Jay: I mean you can’t afford to get sick and miss work, see that you mom and her boyfriend or both out of work.
Alex: (Mr. Nash walks over to Jay and Alex.) Fine
Mr. Nash: Thanks for the help Jay and for the two of you drop off Ellie homework, so she won’t fall behind any more then she already is.
Ellie: ( Yell from the couch.) Dad, I am going to be sick!

Alex runs into the kitchen and grabs the trash can and runs it over to Ellie really fast. She gets the trash can over to Ellie just in time. Ellie leans over the trash can and starts getting sick to her stomach. Alex pulls Ellie hair out of her face and holds back till she stops throwing up. Ellie leans back onto the couch and closes her eyes . Mr. Nash walks over and wipes his daughter face off with a cool washcloth.

Mr. Nash: Thank you for help Ellie. She never gets this sick, it must be from the stress of moving to a new town and start a new school two weeks into the school year.
Alex: I know how that one feels, this is mine first year at degrassi too. I move to town this summer.
Ellie: Dad, the lower right side of mine abdominal is really sore.
Mr. Nash: Jay will you help get Ellie out to the car, I am going to take her to the ER at Toronto general hospital.
Jay: Sure Mr. Nash

Alex’s open the front door and open it up. Mr. Nash and Jay help Ellie off the couch and out to Mr. Nash Jeep. Alex closes the door to the house behind her. She then goes and opens the passenger door of the Jeep for Ellie. Once Ellie in the passenger set and Mr. Nash is in the diver seat Alex and Jay get into Jay’s car and takes off. Then Mr. Nash pulls out of the drive and heads to the hospital. When he has to stop for a red light Mr. Nash look over at his daughter and sees that she has brought her knee up to her chest and is rest her hand on her knee. He reaches over and feels her forehead and knows before his hand even touch her forehead that her fever has gone up. As he is pull into the ER parking lot Ellie looks at her dad then passes out and her head falls against the car window. He speeds up and pulls to a fast stop in front of the ER door. A nurse that is a smoke break put her cigarette out and runs over to Mr. Nash Jeep.

It has now been five hours since Mr. Nash left the house to take Ellie to the ER and Ellie and he has now been waiting in the ER wait area for the last four and half hours. Mr. Nash looks over at his daughter and sees that she is dry heaving into the trash can that next to her seat. He stands up and walks over to the admittance desk. The nurse at the desk looks up at Mr. Nash, then goes back to filing paperwork. Mr. Nash leans over the counter and takes the paperwork out of her hands.

Mr. Nash: My daughter and I have been waiting in the wait area four and half hours now.
Nurse Santo: Has your number been called yet?
Mr. Nash: NO
Nurse Santo: Then you we have to go back to your set and wait your turn. It’s a very busy night and the ER has no bed free at the moment.
Mr. Nash: Listen here Nurse Santos my daughter has not been able to keep anything down since last night at 7:30p.m. and she has a fever of 40.5 C (104.9 F). She also has diarrhea, is dizzy and is really weak. Now I want a doctor to take a look at her now!
Nurse Santo: Go have a seat with your daughter, I will go sees what I can do.
Mr. Nash: Thanks

Mr. Nash walks back over to his daughter and sets back down. Ellie lays her head down on her dad left shoulder and starts to cry. He wraps his left arm around Ellie shoulder and wipes the tear off her face with his right head. Ellie looks up at her dad, at the sometime her eyes roll backwards and she passes out. Mr. Nash picks up his daughter and carries her through the doors that divide the ER from the wait area. A doctor and a nurse come run over to him, they lead him over to curtain area one and he lays Ellie onto the hospital bed. The doctor listens to Ellie lungs and as the nurse takes her temperature. Just then Nurse Santo comes run up to them.

Dr. Peanut: Nurse Santos drew some of Ellie’s blood and have a red and white blood cell count run. Also, check her iron count. Nurse Smoothie I want you to stay an Iv to rehyrate Ellie and to reduce her fever it is too high. Nurse Santo once you have finish draw Ellie’s blood I need you to give Ellie a shoot to help calm her stomach down.

The nurses get to work and the doctor continues to check Ellie over. Mr. Nash set in a chair next to his daughter bed and holds her right hand.

Two hours after taking Ellie to the hospital Mr. Nash is setting in the surgery wait room, because Nurse Santos, Nurse Smoothie and Dr. Peanut had rush Ellie into the operating room to remove her appendix. Mrs. Nash comes run through the wait room door and over to her husband side. Mr. Nash hugs his wife, but at the sometime is surprise she showed up. He had lift voice mail on her cellphone and a message on the answering machine to let her know that he taking Ellie to the hospital and that the tests that the doctor was running did not look good. He did not think that she would show up to be by her daughters’ bedside.

Mrs. Nash: What wrong with Ellie?
Mr. Nash: She has appendicitis and Dr. Peanut take her into to emergency surgery an hour and half ago.
Mrs. Nash: Did her appendix burst?
Mr. Nash: No, but when they take her back to surgery her appendix was ready to bust at any minute.
Mrs. Nash: If I would have only listen to her when she told me her right side was really hurting her, on the drive home after I pick her up from school sick.
Mr. Nash: It all right honey, I did not even catch it. The symptoms that Ellie had point toward it just being the stomach flu.
Mrs. Nash: I going to get some help, so I can stop drinking. I want to be there for our daughter.

Mr. Nash leads his wife over to a chair and she sets down, then he goes and gets her a cup of coffee and brings it to her. Mrs. Nash takes the coffee from her husband and slower starts to sips the coffee. Mr. Nash has just set down in the chair next to his wife when Dr. Peanut comes into the wait room and walks over to them and takes a seat across from Mr. and Mrs. Nash.

Dr. Peanut: I was not able to remove Ellie appendicitis before it burst. As a results she have to stay in the hospital for at lest five days, because she has to be treat with IV antibiotics.

It has now been eight days since Ellie had her appendix remove and it is her first day going back to school. Mr. Nash pulls his Jeep up to the front of the school and the first thing Ellie and her dad see is a sign hang above the doors that says welcome back Ellie Nash we missed you. Ellie looks at her dad then grabs her book bag off the back seat. She open her door and gets out of her dad jeep and then closes the door. She walks up the school steps and Ashley open the door up for her and at the sometime Sean, Jay, Alex, Macro and Craig run up to her and one after the other each give Ellie a hug to welcome her back.
