It now been three weeks since the Nelson/ Simpson household learned that Snake has cancer. He has just start chemotherapy a week ago last Monday. Emma is laying on her bed thinking about what has happen over the past three weeks. She thought her mom was going over board with keep the house germ free after Baby Jack was born at the beginning of September, but since Snake found out he has cancer she has become even worse to the point where she does not even allowing her daughter to have friends come over. Even though Snake and Emma both told her, he more at risk of catch a cold going to the hospital for chemotherapy or teacher his media Immersion class at Degrassi then he does at home. Spike, does not listen to either of them though. Emma hears her mom open up, her bedroom door.

Spike: Em, its time for you to get up and ready for school.
Emma: Ok mom, I’ll be upstairs in five, I just have to get dress.

Emma sits up and put her feet over the edge of her bed and looks at her alarm clock to check the time. Then she looks at the book on her night stand, that she reading for English class and remember she did not finish read chapter four, five and six. Which, she has a test over the chapter in first hour. She gets up and put on a pair of jeans and a light green shirt and pulls her hair up into a pony tail, then Brush her tooth.

Spike: Emma Marie Nelson, hurry it up or you are going to be late for School Snake has already left, without you and you miss breakfast to, I have to leave now to take Jack to daycare then, I am going to work. See you tonight Em.
Emma: Mom can you give me a ride to school?
Spike: If you hurry it up, Em.

( Emma Grab her book bag and English book and run upstairs.)

Emma: I’m come mom.
Spike: Ok Em

Once Emma was upstairs the three of them head outside to Spike car and Spike driver Emma to school first. Spike, pulls up in front of Degrassi and puts the car into park.

Spike: Emma remembers that Snake has chemotherapy after school, so you have to pick up Jack from daycare and watch him till I get off of work.
Emma: I remember mom, see you tonight.
Spike: See you tonight to and I love you Em
Emma: I love you to Mom.

Emma open the backseat door and gets her book bag, then close the door and head into the school and to her locker where Sean is waiting for her along with Manny.

Manny: Emma are you ready for the English test in first hour?
Emma: No, I did not even get a chance to read the chapter I fall asleep last night before I got to do my English homework.

Manny: That not like you Em, and you never return Sean or mine phone calls that we left on you Answer machines?
Emma: I was watching Jack all weekend, because my mom had to work and Mr. Simpson has not been feeling good since he started Chemotherapy lasts Monday.
Manny: You still could have called us back Em, when Jack was laying down for his nap.
Emma: He would not go down for his nap all weekend, and he would not let me put him down for a minute, every time I try he would start crying.
Sean: I am not mad at you even there we do have plans to go to the movies on Saturday and we were supposed to meet at the Mall theater and you never did show up.
Emma: Sean I am so sorry, I forget about our date this weekend I was so tired I went down to my bedroom after dinner and lay down in my bed to close my eyes for a few minutes and fall asleep.

Sean put his arm around Emma wrists.

Sean: That ok Em, I understand that you need to be there right now to help out you mom and Step-dad Mr. Simpson.

Just then the bell rings for first hour, and the hallway because full of student heading to they first class. Emma Looks at Sean and Manny.
Manny: We need to head to class Sean and Emma, not just stand at Emma Locker.
Emma: I need to use the bathroom first, Manny can you tell Mrs. Kawn knows for me.
Manny: Sean you need to come to class to.
Sean: I am going to walk with Emma and wait outside the girls’ restroom for her.
Manny: Fine

Manny walks the opposite way of Sean and Emma and heads into Mrs. Kawn classroom and take her seat and save one for Emma and Sean.

Mrs. Kawn: Manny Santos, Do you know where Emma Nelson and Sean Cameron are?
Manny: They both had to use the restroom before come to class.
Mrs. Kawn: Thanks for tell me Manny.

Sean is waiting outside the girl’s restroom for Emma and he looks up at the wall clock. He then crack the main door and yell inside to Emma.

Sean: Emma, the second bell is going to ring any minute we need to head to class now!
Emma: Ok I’ll be out in a sec Sean.
Sean: Ok

Emma walks out of the restroom and Sean puts his right arm around Emma wrist and Emma puts her head onto his shoulder.

Emma: Sean I have to Pick Jack up from daycare after school gets out, can you give me a ride and then come over to my house, we can work on our homework or watch a movie as I watch Jack?
Sean: Sure, but I thought you mom do not want anyone over.
Emma: She does not, but I could use the help with Jack. I am a week behind on mine homework from all my classes, it would be a big help if you come over to help me catch up and help with Jack.
Sean: Sure Em, anything for you baby.
Emma: thank

They walk into English class and take the test over Chapter four, five and six.

After School at the Nelson/ Simpson household. Emma is sitting at the kitchen table doing her homework and Sean is holding Baby Jack ( head is rest on Sean, chest). Walk back and fourth with him because if he stops walks to sit down. Jack start crying really loud and kicking his little feet at Sean.
Emma: I so fail that English test today, I just finish read the three chapters and I guess wrong about what happens in the chapters.
Sean: It’s only the first test Em, there is a lot of time to rises your grades.
Emma: You are right Sean, It just the first time I fail a test.
Sean: You haven’t even got the test back yet, so you do not know that you fail the test . You have to wait to see you could have guess right Em.
Emma: I do not get this chemistry homework Sean .
Sean: Em, Take a break for a few minutes, then come back you homework, then when you come back to it you might be able to understand the homework better.
Emma: Yeah, a break sounds good.
Sean: Jack is a sleep Em!
Emma: That great Sean
Sean: Emma’s is something bothering you?
Emma: No, Sean I am tired and I really have to use the bathroom.
Sean: Then go upstairs and uses the bathroom. I can handle Jack by myself why you are in the bathroom.
Emma: Thanks Sean

While Emma in the bathroom Sean is sitting on the couch and is happy, because Jack just moves a little but stay asleep. Just then Mrs. Nelson walks into the house and look at Sean and then see that Jacks is asleep in his arm and just smile at Sean. She then sees that all Emma homework is laying out on the table. Spike looks around trying to find Emma, but can’t sees her anywhere.

Spike: Sean where is Emma at?
Sean: She uses the bathroom Mrs. Nelson
Spike: Sean Call me Spike
Sean: Ok, Spike
Spike: Its nice to see you, but I really do not want Emma friends hang out at the house right now.
Sean: I know that, but Emma’s asks me to help out watching Jack, so she could catch up on her homework, because she is a week behind on it.
Spike: Oh, then I guess it all right this time and beside Jack seem to like you. He would not go to sleep for Emma, Me, or his dad.
Sean: He can tell that you and Emma are worry about Snake and that all three of you are stress out. I am going to go lay Jack down in his crib for you Spike.
Spike: Thanks Sean.

Sean walks upstairs and puts Jack down into his crib. He turns on the baby monitor and Night light. Sean then walks out of Jack’s bedroom and closes the door. He then walks over to the bathroom door and knock on it.

Sean: Em, is everything ok you been in there now for twenty minutes?
Emma: Yeah, I will be out in a minute Sean, has my mom got home yet?
Sean: Yeah, she home and she was just start dinner when I bring Jack upstairs and lay him down in his crib.
Emma: You turn on the baby monitor and the night light and close his bedroom door right?
Sean: Yeah

Emma walks out of the bathroom just then and the two of them head back downstairs.

Spike: Em, can you clear you school work off the Kitchen table and wash it off and set it for dinner, and Sean you are welcome to stay for dinner if you want to.
Sean: Sure I stay for dinner.

Just then Snake walks into the house and sees Sean help Emma getting the table ready for dinner.

Snake: Sean good to see you outside of school. Where is Jack at?
Spike: Sean gets him to take a nap honey.
Snake: Thank you Sean
Emma: And I get catch up on my homework in all my class beside chemistry thanks to Sean helping me out with Jack.
Spike and Snake: Thank again Sean.

After Dinner Sean and Emma say good bye to eachother and Sean head home and Emma goes down to her bedroom and finish her homework then goes to bed.

The next morning Emma’s pushes the snoozed button that is on her alarm clock. When it goes off and rolls back over and goes back to sleep. She does not care that it’s a school day all she wants to do is sleep, because she kept having to get up and use the bathroom every half hour doing the night. When her alarm clock beeps at her two minutes later she rolls over and turns it off. Then close her eyes and goes back to sleep. Fifteen Minutes later Spike open up her daughters’ bedroom door and walk downstairs to get Emma up.

Spike: Emma Maire Nelson, get up and get ready for school, Sean is going to be here any minute to give you a ride and Snake is staying home sick today. Also, its raining outside Em. The weatherman’s side it will be rain all day long.
Emma: Great I hate rain
Spike: Emma Maire Nelson, get out of bed and ready for school!
Emma: Ok, Mom’s I am getting up.
Spike: I have to leave now to take Jack to daycare and then go to work.
Emma: See you tonight.

After she hears her mom leave the house. Emma gets out of bed and walks to her dresser. She pulls out a tank top and put it on, then puts on a long sleeve shirt Degrassi spirit shirt and then puts on a pair of very old jeans. After she dresses. Emma goes into the bathroom and does her hair then brush her tooth. As she walks out of her bathroom, she hears Sean pull into the driveway. She grabs her book bag and head outside to Sean Car. Once outsides she gets into Sean Car on the passages side and she takes a set.

Sean: (Kiss Emma’s lip and she Kiss Sean back) Good morning Em, how did you sleep last night?
Emma: Ok, How did you sleep last night.
Sean: Great, best night sleep I had in months.
Emma: Can we stop by the Dot, so I can get a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee?
Sean: Sure Em.

Sean pulls up in front of the Dot and Emma goes in and gets a breakfast sandwich and a large coffee to go then she heads back out to Sean car and eat the sandwich on the way to school. As Sean and Emma are walking into the school Marco, Craig and Ellie runs over to her and Sean.

Craig: Emma, We just come for the M.I. lab and there same women sitting in Mr. Simpson Desk, Where is Mr. Simpson?
Emma: He had chemotherapy yesterday and his stomach is really bothering him so he called in sick today.
Sean: Who, is the Sub?
Ellie: Mrs. Furby.
Emma: I can’t stand her, she does not let anyone take a restroom break or go get a drink of water, if their throat is dry.
Marco: And If she catches you talking you have to outline three whole chapters of the textbook.
Emma: I know there was another reason beside it was rain outside that I want to stay home and sleep.

Manny comes walk over to them and stands next to Emma.

Emma: Hi Manny, How are you doing today?
Manny: Good, lets head to English, so we can find out how we did on our English test we had yesterday.
Sean and Emma: Ok.

The three of them go to Mrs. Kawn classroom and take a seat in the back roll, Mrs. Kawn walks up to them and head each of them they test back. Emma looks at her test and sees a D- on it on. She folds it in half and puts it into her English folder.
Emma: Sean I tell you I fail the test.

After first hour they have to sit through Media Immersion class with Mrs. Furby. Halfway through Second hour Sean looks over at Emma and he see that she has stops doing her work and is staring at Mrs. Furby. Who has not let Emma leave the classroom to use the restroom even there she said she really can’t wait any longer she really need to go now!
Sean: (Whisper in Emma’s ear) Just get up and walk out of the room and go to the restroom baby.
Emma: (Whisper back) I think I’m going to, I can’t wait any longer.

Emma stands up and leaves the room even there the Sub is yelling at her to sit back dawn.

At the end of Second hour Emma stills has not come back from the restroom. Sean picks up Emma’s book bag and him and Manny walks to the girls’ restroom. Once at the restroom Manny goes into the girls restroom and check on Emma. Sean waits outside the restroom door for the girls.

Manny: Emma, are you ok, because you never come back to class.

After a few minutes, Emma still has not said anything, so Manny start looking under the stall doors till she finds the one Emma is in.

Manny: (Knocking on the stall door) Emma, is everything all right, You have been in the restroom for a half hour now ?
Emma: No, I am feeling really funky and my stomach hurting really bad.
Manny: I think you should go to see the nurse Emma.

Emma: (Walks out of the bathroom stall.) Yeah, I think you are right. Did you or Sean grab by book bag?
Manny: Sean has it.

The girls walk out of the restroom and Sean put his arm around Emma.

Sean: Emma, you are really warm, and you look flush too.
Emma: I am not feeling good, I need to go to see the nurse.
Sean: I walk you there.
Emma: Thanks.

At the nurse office.

Nurse: Miss Nelson how can I help you and you Mr. Cameron?
Sean: I’m just here with Emma
Emma: My stomach hurting really bad and Sean say I am run really warm.
Nurse: Have a sit.

Emma and Sean sit down, Sean is hold Emma left hand. While the nurse is take Emma temperature.

Nurse: I have to call you mom and send you home Miss Nelson, because you are running a fever of 102.8.

A few minutes later the nurse looks at Emma and Sean.

Nurse: Miss. Nelson, you mom will not let you go home, because she does not want you to give want you have to Mr. Simpson. Mr. Cameron can you take Miss Nelson to you place because she can’t stay in school with a fever.
Sean: Sure.

Sean and Emma go outside to his car. Once they got to Sean and Tracker place Emma lays down on the couch and Sean brings her a blanket and pillow over to her. Emma puts the pillow under her head and Sean covers her up with the blanket.

Sean looks over at Emma who is laying on the couch, as he is sitting at the kitchen table work on his history homework. As he looking at her, he notices that she sits up really fast and jump off the couch and runs into the bathroom. Then Sean hears Emma getting sick to her stomach. Sean Stands up and walk over to the bathroom door, which Emma has left open. He notices her hair keep fall toward her face so he kneels down behind her and pulls her hair out of her face.

Emma: (After she done getting sick to her stomach.) Thanks Sean, can you help me back to the couch?
Sean: Sure.

Sean help Emma up and wrap his arm around her waist and help her back over to the couch.

Sean: Is there anything I can get you Em?
Emma: No, I just want to sleep.
Sean: Ok, Em

At 4pm Tracker comes into the apartment and sees that Emma is laying on the couch asleep and Sean, is sitting on the floor watch tv.

Tracker: Sean why is Emma asleep on our couch?
Sean: Tracker, keep it down. She has the stomach flu.
Tracker: Then why is she not at home in her only bed?
Sean: Because Mrs. Nelson would not let her go home to they house because of Mr. Simpson, is not able to be around a lot of germ.
Tracker: Sorry forget about that. She can crush here as long as she needs to. I am going to take a really fast shower, because I smell from work. If she needs me to get out of the bathroom just let me know.
Sean: Sean just hand me the bathroom trash can In cause she can wait.
Tracker: here Sean
Sean: thanks.

Tracker, has only been in the bathroom taking a shower for three minutes when Emma wakes up and leans over the tash can and start throwing up. Sean sits down next to her and hold her hair out of her face. After Emma finishes getting sick, she sits back on the couch and rest her head on Sean shoulder.

Sean: Em, is there anything I can get you?
Emma: (Tracker walks out of the bathroom in clean jean and T-shirt) No, I want to go home Sean can you please call my mom and talk her into to let me come home?
Tracker: I’ll call your mom Emma and talk to her?
Emma: Thanks.

Tracker walks over to the phone and picks it up and dials Emma house phone. The phone rings five times before someone picks it up.

Spike: Mrs. Nelson speck
Tracker: Hi, I am Tracker Cameron, Sean brother.
Spike: What do you want?
Tracker: Emma asks me to call and talk to you.
Spike: About what?
Tracker: She really wants you to let her come home, I know you don’t want Mr. Simpson to catch any germs, but if he wears a medical mask like the doctor gave him to wear if someone at his house is sick he will be fine.
Spike: I don’t want to take any chances, you have to understand that!
Tracker: And Emma is sick and just wants her mom.
Spike: Fine can you give her a ride home.
Tracker: Yeah.

Sean help Emma’s out to Trackers car and into the front seat, he then get into the backseat and Tracker gets into the driver seat. Tracker, then puts his car into drive and heads towards the Nelson/Simpson household. He pulls into the driveway at Emma houses and puts his car into park. Sean gets out of the car and helps Emma into the back door of the house. Spikes’ walks up to Sean and her Daughter and looks at Emma with a worry look on her face.

Spike: Em, how are you feeling?
Emma: Awful.

Emma put her right hand over her mouth and runs downstairs to her basement bedroom and into her bathroom. Emma then goes straight over to the toilet and kneels down in front of the toilet and start throwing up. Spike come downstairs after tell Sean and Tracker thanks for let Emma stay at they place doing school hours and for bringing her home. When Spike gets to Emma Bedroom she walks over to the bathroom door and sees Emma getting sick to her stomach. She then goes and pulls her daughters’ hair out of her face and wets a washcloth down. Once Emma stops getting sick she leans up against the bathroom wall. Spikes take the wet washcloth and wipe Emma face off.

Emma: Mom can you help me to my bed?
Spike: Sure baby

Spike help Emma up off the bathroom floor. She then helps her daughter walk out of the bathroom and into her bedroom. She then helps her into bed. Spike, pulls the bedspread back for Emma and she gets into bed. Spike then cover Emma up with her bedspread.

Spike: Do you want me to get you anything Em?
Emma: Can you just bring me the bathroom trash can?
Spike: Sure.

Spike, walks back into her daughter bathroom and grabs the trash can along with the thermometer and then walks back over to Emma.

Spike: I want to check you temperature Em.

Emma takes the thermometer from her mom and puts the thermometer into her mouth. When it beeps thirty seconds later, she takes the thermometer out of her mouth and hands it back to her mom.

Spike: You are run a fever of 104. 2 Em, I will be right back.
Emma: Ok

Spike, goes back into Emma Bathroom and get a clear washcloth and wets it down with cool water. She then walks back into Emma bedroom. She folds the washcloth in half and lays it on Emma Forehead.

Emma: Thanks mom, I am going to go to sleep now.
Spike: Ok Em, if you need me for anything, yell for me or call my cellphone and I will be right down.
Emma: Ok.

Emma’s wakes up two hours later and she is shivering, so she gets out of her bed and heads upstairs to the first floor, she then walks upstairs to the second and gets into the hallway closet. Just then Spike walks up to her and feel her daughter forehead.

Spike: Em, what are you doing out of bed?
Emma: I am cold and my blanket is not warm enough so I come upstairs to grab one of the extra blankets from the closet.
Spike: Ok, Em but now that you have the blanket go back to your basement and get back into bed. I will come down in a few minutes to recheck you temperature. Do you want me to bring you anything Em?
Emma: Some Ice water Please, my mouth and throat are really dry.
Spike: Sure Em.

Emma head back downstairs to her basement bedroom. She lay the extra bedspread on top of her bedspread then get back and under both covers. As she lays back down in bed she starts thinking about how little time outside of school she and Sean had been spend together and that he was spending more time with Jay and his crowed later and also spend more time with Alex Nunez (Jay’s girl friend), Best friend Ellie. I think I am losing Sean to that Ellie girl. I can’t lose Sean right now. The little bit of time we get to speed together or to just talk on the phone is the only thing that keeping my mind off how sick, Mr. Simpson is. The truth is he not do good at all Dr. Mason was hope that after been on chemotherapy for a week his white blood, red blood cell counts will have gone back up some, but they have not they have actually got lower, which mean the chemotherapy he is on is not strong enough and Dr. Mason will be started him, on a stronger vison of chemotherapy next Monday. I am afraid of how sick the stronger vison will make him, the vison he on right now makes him sick to his stomach. What worse is that he is going to have to be hospitalized when he starts the new vison. Which means I will need to get better so that I can help out with Jack and my mom can go into work. Just then Spike come walking down the basement stares carrying a glass of ice cold water and there is a strew in the glass. Emma set up in her bed and takes the glass from her mom when she hands it to her.

Spike: Drink the water slowly seeing that it’s the first thing you drink since getting sick.
Emma: Ok, Mom

Spike, goes into Emma bathroom and she grabs a new washcloth and wets it down with cool water, she rings it out some. Then folds in half, she walks out of her daughters’ bathroom and set down on the edge of Emma bed and set the washcloth on her daughter forehead.

Emma: Mom is Snake going to die, Because I don’t want him to die. He has been a great father to me and Jack and he love me just as much as he love his biological son. I really love him mom’s?
Spike: I am sure Snake is going to be fine Em, Dr. Mason just needs to find the chemotherapy that will work on him and if that does not work his cancer can be treated by having a bone marrow transplant.
Emma: Why did the doctor do the bone marrow transplant first?
Spike: Because a bone marrow transplant is only used if the patient goes into remission and then the cancer comes back and the doctor cannot get the cancer back into remission with chemotherapy or Radiation therapy, then the doctor will think about doing a bone marrow transplant. But lets hope that Snake goes into remission and stay in remissions Em.
Emma: Ok, I am getting tired again, so I am going to lie back down.
Spike: All right Em, I am going to go get Jack up from his nap and then check on Snake. I will come down and check on you in an hour, Em.
Emma: Ok mom.

Spike, stands up and start walks back upstairs, she gets to the top of the stairs and looks back at her daughter and see she has already fall asleep

The next morning Emma wakes up when her alarm clock goes off. She rolls over in bed and hits the off button at the sometime she grabs the right side of her abdomen with her right hand. Thinking to herself, I know I should stay home and rest seeing that I was up till five a.m. vomiting, but I really want to see Sean. I also know that there is very little hope my mom or Mr. Simpson will let me go to school today, but I have to try. She lays in bed a little while long and listens to her mom and step-dad talking in the kitchen, the whole time she is laying in bed she is holding her stomach and crying because her low right abdomen is hurting really bad. After about two more minutes she gets out of bed and puts on a clear pair of underwear and bra. She then grabs a pair of old Jeans with holes in both knees and pulls then on. She puts on a black tank top and then pulls on a gray sweatshirt. She then heads into her bathroom and finish getting ready for school. She about ready to leave the bathroom when she sees how pale, she is. She puts on some make up really fast then, garbs her book bag and runs up stairs to find a note from her mom.

Hi Emma, I did not bother to wake you up for school, because you are way too, sick to go. I had to leave for work early and Snake has a doctor appointment to talk about the new chemotherapy he is starting on Monday. Grandmother Simpson is watch Jack today, so just stays in bed, because you needed to get lots of rest. Also, try to drink and eat something today.

This make it a lot easy to get out of the house and go to school. She throws the note into the trash can and heads out the front door just as Sean is walking up the sidewalk towards the house with his car key in his right hand. Sean pulls Emma into a hug then kiss her lips. She knows she should not let him, but want him to think she is well so she lets him continue to kiss her on the lips. She hugs and kisses Sean back on his lips. Then walks over to his car and puts her book bag on the back seat next to his book bag.

Sean: Em, are you sure that you should be out of bed and going to school, because you still feel warm?
Emma: Yeah, I feel a hundred percent better, it must have been a twenty four- hour flu bug is all.
Sean: Ok, then let go to school and meet up with Alex and Jay.
Emma: Sure
Sean: Is Mr. Simpson going to be there today?
Emma: No, he has a doctor appointment to talk about the new chemotherapy he started on Monday.
Sean: I hop this treatment work for him!
Emma: Me to.

The rest of the ride to school Emma turns her head towards the window and closes her eyes. She feels bad that she is lying to Sean and told him, I feel a hundred percent better, when she still feels horrible. I am ache all over and burning up and have stabbing pains in my low right abdomen, and I still feel nausea and I still have diarrhea too. Sean pulls into the school park lot and as soon as he stops the car Emma hop out and grabs her book bag.

Sean: Em, what the big hurry for there is still ten minutes to school starts?
Emma: I really have to use the restroom, I will meet you at your locker Sean.
Sean: Ok, Em

With that she runs into the school build and into the first girl’s restroom. She looks around to make sure she is the only one in the restroom then runs into the first stall and start puke into the toilet. After about five minutes she set down on the floor and pulls her knees up to her chest and starts crying and the sometime she shuts the stall door, which she did not have the time to do when she runs into the stall. She then stands up and pulls her pants down and just very gets onto the toilet in time before her bowels let loss on her. Meanwhile, at Sean locker Jay, Alex and Sean are set on the floor up against their locker wait for Emma and Sean is started to get a little worry about his girlfriend.

Jay: Sean, how long does it take green pace to use the restroom, she has been in there for seven and half minutes now?
Sean: Maybe Alex should go check on her?
Alex: I do not think so Sean, she your girlfriend not mine friend!

Just then Emma walks over to them and slide down the wall and takes a seat next to Sean. She put her head on Sean shoulder and close her eyes. At the sometime is holding her right side of her abdomen with her right hand. Just then Manny walks over to Sean, Jay, Alex and Emma and kneels down in front of Emma and tap her best friend on the shoulder.

Manny: Em, you do not look good at all, are you sure you should be in school today?
Emma: (Open her eyes) I feel a hundred percent better, it was a twenty four hour flu bug is all.
Manny: Yeah right Emma, I know you to well, you are lying.
Emma: No, I am not Manny.
Manny: Yeah you are!
Jay: Manny’s Green pace says she is fine, so leave her alone!
Manny: Jay, like you ever care about how Emma is feeling!
Alex: Jay said leave Emma alone, so leave.
Jay: Emma, my best friend girlfriend so of cause I care about how Emma is feeling.
Manny: Fine, but when Emma passes out I will be the first one to say I told you so!

With that Manny walks away from Jay, Sean, Emma and Alex and heads to the M.I. lab for first hour Media Immersion class. When the bell rings Jay and Alex gets up and heads to Mrs. Kawn English class. Sean and Emma stand up and starts walk to Media Immersion. Half way to the M.I. lab Emma stops walking and grabs her right side and leans up against the wall. Sean does not turn around to he hears Emma scream.

Emma: (Scream) Ouch

But as soon as she scream, she runs into the girls restroom that is across from them and into the first stall and start puke again. I do not know how much longer I can keep acting that I am well. I know that Sean is probably wonder where I am at by now and why I scream ouch at the top of my lungs then running into the restroom. She stands back and pulls her pants down and set on the toilet and grab the tash can that in the stall. She start throwing up and her bowels start movie at the some time.

Emma stands up then wipes off then pulls her underwear and pants up. She is so weak that she set down on the restroom floor and leans up against the stall door and starts crying. God my right side is killing me. I do not think I have the stomach flu. I think there is something else wrong with me. Meanwhile, back in the Media Immersion lab Sean is staring at the clock and he also keeps looking over at the door. He looks over at Manny and gives her a worry look.

Manny: Sean, do you want me to go check on Emma?
Sean: Yeah, I am really worried about her. She says that she is feeling better, but when I hug her this morning she was still burning up with fever and she keeps holding her right side and use the bathroom.
Manny: I will go check on Em, for you.

Manny, rises her hand and Mrs. Furby looks up from the book she is read and sees Manny hand rise in the air.

Mrs. Furby: Can I help you Miss. Santos?
Manny: I need to use the restroom?
Mrs. Furby: You know my rules I do not let anyone take restroom breaks.
Manny: I think I start my period, I really need to go check!
Mrs. Furby: Fine go, but make it a very fast restroom break.
Manny: I will.

Manny stands up and walks out of the lab and starts walk towards the restroom. In the restroom Emma slower stand up and open up the stall door. She picks her book bag up off the floor then walks over to the sinks and turns the water on. She washes her hands, then splashes some cold water onto her face to cool down, because she is burning up . She reaches up and grabs a paper towel and drys her face off and slower starts walking towards the restroom door holding the right side of her stomach and tears are running down her face. Just then the restroom doors open up and Alex, Amy and Manny walk into the restroom and see Emma holding her stomach and that she is crying. The three girls walk over to Emma just in time to see Emma legs start to give out on her and Emma start to fall. Both Alex and Amy grab Emma and help her set down on the restroom floor.

Alex: Manny’s go to the Media Immersion lab and get Sean, tell him Emma is really sick and needs his help also tell Sean that Amy and I are with Emma in the girls restroom.
Amy: After you get Sean, go get the nurse and bring her to the restroom Manny.
Manny: Ok


Manny runs out of the restroom and head to Media Immersion lab first, Sean gets up from his seat as soon as he sees Manny’s running up to classroom doors. He grabs his book bag and his car keys and fellow Manny’s out the door.

Sean: Manny, what wrong?
Manny: Go to the girls restroom Emma is really sick and needs your help.
Sean: Is anyone in the restroom with Emma right now?
Manny: Alex and Amy are with her and they will fill you in. I have to go to the nurse stations and get the school nurse now.
Sean: Ok, go

Manny starts running towards the nurse stations and Sean runs to the girls restroom. Sean get to the restroom thirty seconds later and runs into the restroom and does not care that it’s the girls restroom. As soon as he runs through the door, he sees Emma laying on the restroom floor with her head on Alex lap. Sean also sees that Emma is holding her right side and there are tears running off her face onto Alex jeans. Sean runs over to Emma and he kneels down next to her.

Sean: ( Emma, lifts her head up when she hears Sean voice.) I am here Emma.
Emma: Sean, my right side really hurting.
Sean: Can you stand up Em?
Emma: No, I am into much pain, Ouch.

Emma stops talk and her head falls back onto Alex’s lap. Sean puts his right hand on Emma forehead and pulls it off right away. He then picks Emma up and starts carrying her towards the door. Alex’s open the restroom door for Sean and Amy and Alex fellow Sean out the door. As Sean is carrying Emma’s toward the school main doors. Mr. Redditch, the school nurse and Manny come walk up to Sean, Emma, Alex and Amy.

Mr. Redditch: Sean where are you going with Emma Nelson?
Sean: I am taking Emma to the ER at Toronto General Hospital.
Alex: Before she passes out in the restroom she side her right side was hurting her really bad.
Amy: And she feels like she is on fire when you touch her forehead.
Nurse: Sean, you can take Emma to the ER, I will call Mrs. Nelson and Mr. Simpson and let them both know you are taking Emma to the ER at Toronto General Hospital and tell them to meet the two of you there.
Mr. Redditch: Manny, Amy and Alex get back to class now.
Alex: I am going to help Sean with Emma and carry her book bag and purse out to his car, then I will head back to class.
Sean: Alex, I want you to come with me and ride in the backseat with Emma, so if she wakes up you can let her know what is going on.
Alex: Sure.
Mr. Redditch: That fine the three of you get going now. Manny and Amy head to your classes now.

Sean gets to the school doors and Alex opens them. Once they are at Sean Car Alex unlocks the doors and get into the backseat first, she then slides across the seat so she is behind the drive seat. Sean then lays Emma down onto the backseat, so her heads is laying on Alex’s lap. He then gets behind the wheel and drives to the hospital.

Sean speeds out of the school parking lot in the direction of Toronto General Hospital. Sean is thinking about his girlfriend as he is driving to the hospital and not watching his speed. Alex is setting in the backseat and she is keeping an eye on Emma. She looks out the window and sees that Sean is flying past all the other cars that are on the road. She then looks up and sees that Sean is going 128 km.

Alex: Sean the speed limited is only 72 km (45 mph) and you are going 128 km, you going to get pull over.
Sean: No, I won’t and I need to get Emma to the hospital fast she is really sick, Lexi!
Alex: I know that Sean, but driving reckless is not going to get us to the hospital any fast Sean!
Sean: Just keep an eye on Emma and keep your mouth shut!

Sean is coming up to an intersection and the light turns yellow. He has more then enough time to stop. In fact by the time he reaches the intersections the light is red, but he does not stop he drives through the intersections, cause the cars with the right away to hit they brakes, so they do not hit the car that is running the red light.. Alex sees a cop car pull out of the Tim Horton parking lot and turn the flash light on and pull into the line right behind Sean. He speeds up and so does the cop car.

Alex: Sean you have to stop for the cop!
Sean: But Emma!
Alex: Pull over and we will tell the cap what is going on and maybe he will let you off the hook this time.
Sean: Fine.

Sean pulls his car over to the side of the road and puts the car into park. The cop car pulls up behind Sean and the cop put his car into park. The cop gets out of his car and walks up to Sean car. Sean rolls his window door and hands the cop his drive license and car insecure. As he is handing the cop his drive license and car insecure, Emma wakes up and starts whimpering in the backseat and grabs her right side, she then curls up into a ball.

Alex: It’s all right Emma, we are going to get you some help.
Emma: (Crying) It really hurts, Ouch
Alex: I know
Emma: Where Sean?
Alex: He driving the car, so we can take you to the ER Emma.
Emma: We are not moving!
Cop Rock: What wrong with the girl in the back seat?
Sean: We are not sure. Bu she feels like she is on fire when you touch her and She is having a lot of pain in her lower right side of her abdomen.
Alex: She passes out on us, that one of the reasons we are take her to the ER.
Cop Rock: I will let you off with a warning this time Mr. Cameron. For now on you needed to only drive the post speed limit. Also, you need to stop for every red light.
Sean: Yes, Sir.
Cop Rock: Here is your drive license and car insecure back. The rest of the way to the ER fellow the rules of the road.
Sean: I will Sir.

Cop Rock gets back into his car and takes off. Sean takes his car out of park and pulls back onto the road and drives the rest of the way to the Toronto General Hospital. Two and half minutes later Sean pulls his car up to the ER doors and puts his car into park and turns it off. He then gets out of the car and hand Alex his keys. Then picks Emma up.

Sean: Move my car and park it in the parking lot, then meet me inside the ER, Lexi.
Alex: Ok

Alex gets behind the wheel as Sean starts carrying Emma into the ER. Alex moves the car and parks it in the first free spot and turns the car off. Alex then gets out of the car and runs from the parking space all the way to the ER door. She walks into the ER and finds Sean and Emma setting in the wait area.

Alex: Why have they not take Emma back to the ER yet?
Sean: They say Emma has to wait because she is not a trauma patient!
Alex: You have to be joking, can’t they see she is really weak and in a lot of pain.
Emma: I am going to be sick.
Alex: Hold on a sec.
Emma: I will try.

Emma puts her hands over her mouth and Alex run over and grabs the trash can and brings it over to Emma. Once Alex has got back over to her with the trash can, she leans over and starts getting sick to her stomach. Emma leans back in her seat after throwing up for five minutes then jumps out of her seat and stumbles to the ladies’ restroom across from where they are setting. Alex stands up and follows Emma into the restroom. Emma goes into the stall and because really dizzy and at the sometime the feeling that her bowels are going to move because worse. She pulls her pants and underwear down really fast. She then set down onto the toilet seat.

Alex: Emma, are you ok?
Emma: No, can you grab me a trash can I think that I am going to be sick again and my bowels are moving right now.
Alex: Sure, hold on a sec.
Emma: Hurry

Alex runs over to the sink area and grabs the small trash can that under the sink. She removes the top and then takes the trash can to Emma in the first stall. Alex knocks on the stall door and Emma open the stall door for her. Emma takes the trash can from Alex and starts getting sick again. Alex is holding Emma hair out of her face as she is throwing up. Alex can tell that Emma is in a lot of pain and is very weak. Once Emma has finish getting sick and using the bathroom, Alex steps out of the stall and closes the door. Emma wipes her self off and pulls her underwear and pants back up. Emma walks out of the stall and over to the sink. Alex turns the water on for Emma and Emma’s washes her hand. As Emma’s washes her hands, Alex’s is wetting down a paper towel with cool water. Emma turns the water off and leans up against the wall. Alex walks over to her and wipes her face off with the cool paper towel. Once she has finish wipe Emma face off Alex walks over to the trash can and throws the paper towel away. At the sometime Emma leg give out and she slides down the wall and lands in a set position on the floor.

Emma Tears running down her face.) Alex’s it feels like something is tearing apart on the right side of mine abdomens.
Alex: Can you stand up?
Emma: No, I am in too much pain and I am also really dizzy right now.

Emma grabs her right side with both hands then passe out, Alex catch Emma upper body and lays her down on the restroom floor. She then runs out of the restroom and stops in the doorway.

Alex: I need a Nurse in the restroom right now, by friend just passes out in there and she is burning up. She also keeps throwing up and she has diarrhea.

Three nurses, two ER doctors and Sean come running over to the restroom door and to Alex who is holding the door open. The nurses and Doctor run into the restroom then over to Emma. They put Emma onto a stretcher and take Emma into the ER and get to work on finding out what wrong with her. One of the nurses is check Emma temperature when Emma comes to and sees that she is now in the ER been check over.

Nurse Max: She has a fever of 40.5 C (104.9 F).
Dr. Taste: Does it hurt when I am push on the right side of your abdomen?
Emma: Yeah, really bad can you stop pushing there.
Dr. Taste: Yeah, Nurse Max let get an ultrasound of her lower right abdomen and run full blood work on her. I also want you to start an IV of normal saline to rehydrate her and some medicine to reduce her fever.

Meanwhile Alex and Sean are in the wait area, because they were not allowed to go into the ER with Emma. Alex is set in a chair and Sean is walking back and fourth. Just then Mrs. Nelson and Mr. Simpson comes running over to Sean and Alex with worry looks on their faces.

Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Nelson stop in front of Sean. Mr. Simpson then looks over and sees Alex set in a chair with a worry look on her face. Sean can see that Mrs. Nelson has been crying, when she walks up to Sean and gives him a big hug. Alex stands up from the chair she is set in and walks over to Emma mom and Step-father.

Alex: Mr. Simpson, you look weak please have a set in the wait area!
Mrs. Nelson: Yes, honey she right you need to set down.

Alex, Sean, Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Nelson, walks over to the chairs and take a set. After they set down, both Mrs. Nelson and Mr. Simpson look back over at Sean and Alex with a look that say please let us know what is going on! Sean and Alex take a deep breath then Sean give Alex a look that says I will tell them.

Sean: I suppose Mr. Simpson and you Miss. Nelson’s want to know about Emma?
Mrs. Nelson: (Crying) Yes, please
Sean: We do not know much, yet. The nurses and Doctors only took her back into the ER a few minutes, before you come running in.
Mr. Simpson: Please told us what cause you two to bring her to the ER, the school nurse would only tell us to met you and Alex here, because you were taking her to this ER.
Alex: Manny, Amy and I walk into the girls restroom and show Emma slower walk toward the restroom door hold her right side and crying at the sometime her leg give out on her. Amy and I grab her really fast and help Emma set down on the floor. I then sent Manny to get Sean and the school nurse.
Sean: When I get to the girl restroom I find Emma laying down and rest her head on Alex legs. Emma was holding her right side and crying. When she notices I was there she lift her head and told me her right side hurt really bad . She also says that she could not stand up. She then passes out and her head fall back onto Alex leg.
Alex: Sean then felt her forehand and pull his hand away really fast because she was burning up.
Sean: I pick Emma up and carry toward the main doors of the school. That when we saw Mr. Redditch and the school nurse and they tell us to bring Emma here.
Sean: Lexi, tell Mr. Simpson and Nelson what Emma told you in the hospital restroom, before passes out again.
Alex: When will first get here Emma spent the first five minutes throw up in the trash can next to you Mrs. Nelson, when she stop throwing up she jump up and run into the ladies rest room. I run into the restroom after her. When I get into the restroom I ask Emma if she was ok and she told me she felt like she was going to be sick again and ask me to get her a trash can, because she had diarrhea and was on the toilet. I run and get her a trash can and give the trash can to her. I hold her hair out of her face for her. When she was finish being sick and using the bathroom I left the stall so she could take care of personal stuff and went and wet down a paper towel with cool water. After Emma washes her hands, I wipe her face off. Just as I finish wiping her face off, Emma legs give out and she slides down the wall and set down on the floor.
Mrs. Nelson: My poor baby, Did she told you anything Alex?
Alex: She said it felt like something is tearing apart on the right side of her abdomens and beside being in a lot of pain she was really dizzy. That when she passes out again and I run to the restroom door and yell for help.
Mr. Simpson: Has one of the ER doctors or an ER nurses came out and tell the two of you anything yet?
Sean: No

Meanwhile, in the ER Dr. Taste was doing an ultrasound on the right side of Emma’s abdomen and he is not liking what he is see on the ultrasound monitor. Nurse Grape comes run back into the examination room with the blood count results and heads them to Dr. Taste. He shakes his head at the nurse and then looks at Emma with a look that say that the results and what he is see is not good.

Emma: What wrong?
Dr. Taste: You have appendicitis, I have to take you into surgery right now to do an emergency appendicectomy. Nurse Grape will you go out to the wait area and let her friends know what going on and if her parents are here and fill her parents in on what is going on!
Nurse Grape: Ok!

Meanwhile, in the wait area Sean, Alex and Mrs. Nelson, are walking back and fourth. Mr. Simpson is tapping his feet. At that moment the doors to the ER swing open and Nurse Grape walks over to were Sean and Alex are.

Nurse Grape: Sean, are these Emma Nelson parents?
Sean: Yeah, The lady next to me with the red hair is Mrs. Nelson Emma mom and that is Mr. Simpson, Emma step-father that is set in the chair across from us. Mr. Simpson stands up and walks over to his wife. Spike, puts her right arm around her husband waist.

Mrs. Nelson: What is wrong with my daughter?
Nurse Grape: She has a fever of 40.5 C (104.9 F) and the right side of her abdomen is causing her a lot of pain. Dr. Taste run blood work and did an ultrasounds and decide she need to have emergency surgery right now!
Mr. Simpson: Surgery for what?
Nurse Grape: She having appendicectomy
Mrs. Nelson: Oh God has her appendix bursts or tears yet?
Nurse Grape: Yes, her appendix starts to tear right before she passed out in the ER ladies’ restroom, that is way Dr. Taste rush her into emergency surgery. I have to go and assist him, But for now the four of you should head up to surgery floor wait room. When the surgery is over Dr. Taste, will come out and he will talk to all four of you.

They watch nurse Grape walk back through the ER door, then the four of then head upstairs to the three floor and to the surgery wait room. Sean, Alex, Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Nelson takes a set. Mrs. Nelson also calls Mrs. Simpson and her mother and lets them know what going on with Emma. As Mrs. Nelson’s talking to her mom Manny, Jay and Amy come running into the surgery wait room and over to Sean, Alex, Mrs. Nelson.

It now Sunday morning and it has been three days since Emma had her appendix out. She is still in the hospital and wait for the test result of the mass the Dr. Taste found on her left fallopian tub. Sean is set next to Emma bedsides and help her catch up on the schoolwork she missed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Emma looks up from doing her English homework and over at Sean who is has taken a break from homework to change Jack diaper.

Emma: Sean it is so nice of you to watch Jack today, so my mom and Snake can spent today together. Seeing that he has to be admitted into St. Mary hospital tomorrow to start his new treatment.
Sean: It no big deal Em, besides Jack likes me and they have not had a day to themselfs since Jack was born.

Sean picks Jack up from the floor and hands him to Emma. He then takes and throws the dirty diaper into the trash can, then washes his hands. When he comes out of the bathroom and he takes Jack back from Emma and set back down in the chair by her hospital bed. Sean and Emma have just start to do their homework again when Dr. Taste walks into the room and sees Sean, Jack’s are the only one visit Emma. He walks over to Emma bedside and looks at her. Emma and Sean stop working on their homework and look up at the doctor.

Emma: So, do you have the tests result yet Dr. Taste and can I go home yet?
Dr. Taste: Yeah the good new is that the mass was not a tumor, it was just a fat mass of tissues and is nothing to worry about.
Emma: That great news, can I go home then?
Dr. Taste: You will be able to go home tonight like we talk about yesterday with your mom and stepfather.
Emma: Dr. Taste will I be allowed to go back to school tomorrow doctor?
Dr. Taste: If you feel up to it Emma, but do not push yourself Emma. You had major surgery on Wednesday afternoon and are still recovering and you also still have stitches.
Emma: Ok I will not push myself.

Emma and Sean work on they homework for another hour then Sean takes Jack to his and Tracker Apartment, so Emma can get some rest and Sean can get Jack to lay down for his nap. Sean takes Jack home around eight o’clock that night. After he has hand Jack to Spike he goes downstairs to Emma basement bedroom to see how she is doing. He walks into Emma bedroom and takes a set on the edge of her bed and then kiss her on the forehead.

Emma: I did not think I would see you again today Sean!
Sean: Way did you think that Em?
Emma: Because you did not come back to the hospital this afternoon and did not come and see me in the hospital on Thursday or Friday and I Saturday you only start for a few minutes.
Sean: I had to work after school both days and you know that I had to go into work and cover for Jay, because he had to stay home and watch his five year old sister who has a bad cold.
Emma: It just the last few weeks you have not wanting to spent time with me and want to spent more time with Ellie Nash.
Sean: Em, I love you and not Ellie!
Emma: Then way have you been spent so much time with her?
Sean: She been help me with some math homework I did not understand and I have been help her with her auto shop project is all Em. I ask you to help me with my math, but you was to busy help you mom and Snake and was not able to help me. I did ask you if it was ok for me to ask Ellie, Paige, Ashley, Hazel or Terri for help and you said it was fine.
Emma: That right, I’m sorry Sean. It must have slip my mind is all.
Sean: I should leave, so you can get a good night sleep.
Emma: Will you stay to I fall asleep Sean?
Sean: Sure

The two weeks that Snake was in the hospital fly by and when he come home for the hospital he was in remissions.
