This "Palex" fangirl crap is getting out of hand. It seems that Degrassi's fan population doubled just because of it. The fact is the only thing interesting about that storyline is seeing a lesbian kiss on The-N. Nothing else.

Disagree with me if you want, and I'm sure you will, but I personally think it's sickening that that's all Degrassi has become for so many of you: a lesbian sexshow.

I think one of the biggest reasons why there is such an enormous amount of Palex fans is because they were such an unexpected couple. I mean, honestly, did you expect Paige, captain of the cheerleading squad, to be bisexual? And Alex, who in earlier episodes picked on Marco because of his sexuality. Both girls came from completely different backgrounds, so just becoming friends was surprising enough. Also, there is the fact that their relationship really changed each other's perspective on life. Paige learned not to care so much about what people thought of her; Alex learned that she didn't have to be a "tough girl" all the time.

So, yeah, I would say Palex is my favourite couple too, and I really don't see the fans getting out of hand. I think it's nice to see more people getting interested in Degrassi. It just means more fans to discuss the show with.

Normally I'd agree that it's nice to have more Degrassi fans, but when they're all having single-tracked minds toward "Palex", it doesn't exactly create for an educated conversation with them.

But I understand what you're saying about the surprise factor.

I think that you could say the same thing about any of the couples on the show being annoying. Am I a fan of all the pairings? Of Semma? Darco? Crellie? Jalex? Palex? JT/Liberty? Emma/Peter? Spaige? No beause frankliy I think thats why the show has all the pairings on there, to appeal to various different groups of people. This forum happens to be where Palex fans congregated. I'm sure there are places that have Spaige in high numbers(in fact I think I stumbled upon it many monthes back). I think if you're not fond of the coupling thats fine. Thats why we have all these different characters on the show, so that everyone can have something they like. Whats that old saying "whatever floats your boat?" Heck, make up your own. I know a Spinner/Mia fan.

totally agree, crannylover, i have seen so many pro-spaige fans on different forums and less palex love... why all of a sudden they come here because this is mainly the only palex friendly board blows me.

also agree that they haven't said anything about darco's relationship (nothing against them here). but i forget, this is the also the same person that said marco should be the only gay so to speak.

I was actually quite happy to see such a large Palex fanbase when I registered here at Degrassi Forum. Palex represents true love. They never turned Degrassi into a "lesbian sex-show." In fact, they hardly kissed at all. Like others have said before, if you visit other sites, you're more than likely to find a group of fans of a different couple.

I'm also surprised Marco and Dylan's relationship wasn't mentioned too...
