How much Ellie and Emma have in common

I think they have a lot in common. Especially love wise. I mean Emma dated first Sean, broke up with him and started crushing on Craig, only to be looked over by Manny who he chooses instead. This exact thing happened to Ellie. SHe went out with Sean, broke up with him and started crushing on Craig also. HE chooses Manny again. Only, Ellie's crush lasted longer. I find this strange and i;m wondering if it was planned or not.

Do you think? I reckon Ellie is weak and just waits to be everybody's rebound girl. she rarely seem to carve new teritory (S6 to be the exception with her new boss) but Emma is confident and bold with her life and loves.

I agree with the rebound stuff! lol. emma is strong and doesnt let anyone use her for rebvound, without knowing it.

Ellie and Emma do have a lot of similarities, but I dont think in any way it was planned for them to end up liking the same guys. There arent a lot of characters on the show, and if they dont bring a new love interest in, everybody ends up with everyone elses ex. You can only have so many relationships with a limited number of characters.

To base the characters of Ellie and Emma solely through their relationships with Sean is ridiculous. First off, Ellie wasn't just Sean's rebound girl, she was with Sean for over a year. I'm pretty sure that a rebound girl is like a quickie stop-in rather than a relationship.

Also, Emma is a strong character, but that means bad things as well as good things. Sometimes she's so self righteous and uppity that she distances herself from people. She's idealistic, but oftentimes stupidly so.

Ellie is definitely more introverted. She had a hard time grasping difficult situations in her life but she's managed to deal. She has a hard time letting people get inside her.

Frankly, I like Ellie better. Ellie is a girl who seems to care about others and while some of you may call her weak she's managed to carve out a nice life for herself. She's coped with issues in her own way and she's dealt with relationships in her own way. She may be weak, but she's also meek, and the latter is a virtue.

On a semi-related note, I think it's commendable that the Degrassi writers and producers have created such interesting characters. The dialogue of Degrassi will always be cheesy and cringe inducing, but the storyline and characters wind up into a nice ball of quality.
