I read in a site that before there was idea of a "paige and alex" the writers were actually thinking of a "ellie and alex"

regardless if it is true or not.. how would you think that would have turned out?

i personally can't imagine it, i love palex waaaay too much to picture it not happening...

Stacey doesn't have the amount of (or type of) chemistry with Deanna that Lauren has and the other thing that made PALEX so great was the fact that the characters were so different from one another. Alex and Ellie sort of came from the 'same side of the tracks'. That 'wrong side of the tracks' storyline ALMOST NEVER fails. Even Kevin Smith referred to it in Lexicon. I thought that was a nice touch.

Now that I'm thinking about it I think there was a rumor going around once the audience found out there would be a lesbian storyline surrounding Alex. The majority of viewers, I think, thought of Ellie because of the friendship that was developing between Alex and Ellie (Queen of Hearts, specifically), but I don't know for sure if the writers were even thinking of a lesbian storyline at the time that ep was written....

that makes sense. there was a lot of other storylines before and after queen of hearts, and there would have been no place for a lesbian storyline between ellie and alex. But then, theres was ''Death of a Disco Dancer'' as a start for the Palex storyline. For me, Lexicon was a TOTAL surprise!

I know Lexicon of Love just blow me away! I couldn't believe it, then I believed it, lol. It was so crazy! It was like I didn't see it coming. But when it happened it was like wow, intense. When I look back on episodes with Palex, the one that caught my eye was "Islands in the Stream". Especially how Paige wanted that job at the food court at the mall to pay for Spin's car. It was that sence where Alex was on the computer and Paige came in to talk to her about the job, Paige flashed that witty smile and Alex gave in. It's so cute now when you think about it!

For me, I'm glad it wasn't Ellie. Because Ellie has been an up and down relationships and crushes with Sean, Craig, and Jimmy. That would had been somewhat chickenin' her character way out of being with guys, you know. Plus I think the writers would had thought that would had been too easy for the viewer to figure out. It was good to keep me in suspense on who the lucky girl was that was gonna win Alex's heart. Thank goodness, it was Paige.

Did you see the look on Alex's face in Death of A Disco Dancer when Paige told her Matt was back? Dead give-a-way of Alex's feelings.

I remember the conversation and episode itself, but not the smile. I need to download it. NOW!

Ellie and Alex are too much alike to ever be a couple. Paige and Alex were great.

one thing that palex has in common is that they are both so stubborn. they hide their feelings. for whatever reason, they began opening up to eachother. I thought 'Island in the Stream' was an important development in the relationship for 2 reasons:

1---when Alex called Paige 'a coward and a suck'....do you honestly think Paige would have taken that from anyone??? She accepted it from Alex, though.

2---Alex saved Paige from being fired and ADMITTED it too....

I believe that Alex was struggiing with her feelings for a long time (she sounded like a homophobic during King Of Pain)....She was comfortable during Lexicon while Paige was a nervous wreck (I don't think Paige knew her feelings until this ep)....we also know about Alex because of what her mom said in Lexicon. When Paige was introduced, Alex's mom was like, "I feel like I am in the presence of royalty...Lexie talks about you all the time"....

I'm wondering when Alex came out of denial?

You think she had these feelings post Jay or while she was still with him?

i think that when you are gay or a lesbian you kinda always know,
even if you are ready to admit it or not..deep down you always know the truth... so i guess she must have had some idea of it when she was with Jay..but that's just the way i see it

that's a very true observation. i didn't think of it in those terms.

I was thinking more of when Alex discovered her feelings for Paige.

i think that paige slowly grew on alex when they were working together, and by spending so much time together she started seeing another side of her and she developed feelings for paige,
i'm guessing somewhere between modern love and death of a disco dancer (i love how alex stared at paige at the end of that episode).
from there on the feelings just grew until she finally did something about it (i guess you can put it that way) in the lexicon eps.

I don't know which 'look' you are speaking of. I've only seen "Death..." on Youtube, so maybe I wasn't paying such close attention. I'm gonna watch it again.
