Personally, I think the whole thing of defining "virginity" just in relation to one particular sex act doesn't make much sense. In terms of having voluntary experiences of physical intimacy that transform your sense of yourself, sexually, I would say that Emma is no longer "a virgin," even if she technically still is. On the other hand, even though Paige technically isn't, it doesn't seem right to me that someone could not consider themselves still a virgin after being forcibly raped. Perhaps
loss of virginity" should instead be about the first time you really give yourself to someone, physically, or about the first time someone else gives you true (sexual) pleasure? I dunno.
