I've never seen it either but you should check it out yourself because everyone's taste is different some like it some don't.

I've seen it and I think that it was pretty sweet. You should totally check them out.

I think it's even better than TNG. The production values are a little lower, and it has a lot less go-there-iness, but I think that it's a lot more realistic. The original series wasn't so much about topping what happened the season before, but about actually showing real issues that affect real people in real situations.

though it can be a little over the top at times, the show does talk about real issues that affect real kids. that is why it is such a great show. it does not pretend that kids lives are so innocent like other shows

I know what you mean by the 'charm' of the old show; the new show is definitely slicker and better quality than the old show (which probably makes it seem more American). As for the storylines, they're pretty much the same as the old storylines but updated to incorporate modern issues -which may seem unrealistic but are modelled after real teens/events. Personally, I like the new show better because it's still tackling the hardcore stuff and has better music!

They are definitely worth watching. The later episodes of Degrassi High were better than the earlier episodes of Degrassi JH.

They're definitely 80's, with 80's issues, but I love them.

i dont understand why people say it "doesnt go there" as much as the new degrassi.

Liz got sexualy abused as a child.
Claude shot himself
Spike got pregnant
Shane takes acid at a concert.

these arent just 80's issues. and they deffinately "go there"

Yeah the old school was just aimed at issues in the 80's like AIDS adn the stuff "Heartattackz" mentioned. The characters aren't real 'pretty' like tng but they are real. Both have their good points nad bad points. Tng DEFINATELY has better music. i say they are both worth a watch but the old school is more about the emotion than the drama. I love them both.

I loved both the original series.. actually I like them both more than Next Generation.

Depending on where you live.. all are still played on tv.
