That 2-part episode that debuted the series and the wedding of Snake (Mr. Simpson) and Spike (Emma's mom) were pretty much the only appearances of the vast majority of the classic Degrassi cast.

Aside from that, Wheels also made a cameo appearance in a Season 3 episode where Snake and Joey were bowling to get Snake's mind off of his cancer that he had just been diagnosed with!

Spike's friend, Liz, also made a cameo appearance in season 5 during Spike's stag party that Caitlin organized.

Yick Yu made a cameo appearance for the season premiere of season 2.

Let's not forget Emma's biological dad, Shane McKay, who appeared in Season 3, and was revealed to have been committed to a Stouffville, Ontario institution! Too bad it was a different actor who played him! (BTW, Liz also made a cameo appearance in part 2 of that episode)

Other than that, the only classic Degrassi characters that have made regular appearances on The Next Generation (to the best of my recollection) are Snake, Spike, Joey, Caitlin, Mr. Raditch ... and, or course, Emma!

Well, no not all, there is way too many actors on the old degrassi... and they weren't all close and stuff. Alot of people probably didn;t want to come back, and they probably couldn;t fit them all in.... Alot of them were in the first episode- even the guy who got HIV....

I really liked how the actual actors came back- asdie from Shane; oh, and emma I guess.. :P

I like the old show it was great in a cheesy way that I couldn't stop watching. I liked the episode where they tackled epilepsy(sp). I have seizures when I'm in strobe lights so it was interesting to see. Do you know if it was written in for her or was it one of the storylines they planned?

One other character that I forgot to mention that was on both series! She only made two appearances in DJH and one in Degrassi: TNG ... Dr. Sally!

It was Caitlin that suffered from the epileptic seizure! She doesn't really suffer from it, so I think it's safe to say it was a planned script!

I actually saw a Degrassi Special called "The Degrassi Story", with Stefan Brogren as host! He interviewed Stacie Mistysyn about her favourite Degrassi moment that she acted in, and it was this very episode of Caitlin suffering from epilepsy that came to her mind! Because she was portraying something that other people had, she felt proud to have portrayed it in a real convincing way!

I never saw Dwayne in the first episode of TNG..I'll have to look harder. I saw some other names that were supposed to be there, but weren't. Did anyone notice in the episode with Spike's baby shower, Heather and Erika did not age well. ARF ARF! lol

Well ... you can thank the folks @ The N ... or CTV ... or the people who produced the DVD of season 1! Whoever's responsible, his scene, along with the scene featuring Wheels apologizing to Lucy got cut on the re-broadcasts!
