Well said! That's exactly the element of the old series that got me (and plenty of others) hooked on the original series ... real kids, not professional actors! As a result, they didn't look as glossy and artificial as compared to other teen dramas that were shown on TV at the time!

For that, I give it thumbs up!

The person who said Craig's dad was in the old show, tell me who and where. I certainly never recall seeing him.

Actually, nobody did! It's been established through the course of this thread that Craig's dad was never on the old show! His stepdad Joey was!

I should know ... I'm a Degrassi Old School fan moreso than I am a Next Generation fan!

He never was because I watched the old shows and I never saw him besides dont u think that Creg would have come in earlier than later if his dad was? Besides he would have known who Joey was earlier in the old shows!!!!

Craig's father was never on the original Degrassi Junior High. I haven't seen all the episodes of Degrassi High, but I'm willing to bet he wasn't on those either. If nothing else, it wouldn't make chronological sense - Spike and Joey are the only ones with kid on TNG. Spike had Emma when she was 13 or 14, and Joey's daughter is 8(ish) years younger than the other kids on the show. It's possible, I guess, but not probable at all to be a successful doctor, married, and have a kid in high school, when you graduated in 1991.

I think it's funny that they were real kids, yet them seemed to act better than the new kids... go figure...
