Degrassi: The Next Generation Podcast series


Jay Hogart and Sean Cameron helped kick off Season 6 of Degrassi: The Next Generation with some serious street racing drama. So it's fitting that the actors who portray them, Mike Lobel and Daniel Clark, should be the first guests on the newly launched Degrassi: The Next Generation Podcast series.


Featuring informal interviews with castmembers, producers, and writers, these twice monthly Podcasts give Degrassi fans an insight into how the show is made, memorable on-set moments, and what your favourite actors get up to when they're not roaming the halls of Degrassi Community School. So pull up a chair and pump up the volume... or for that matter, fire up that iPod and go for a walk...


"With the popularity of the show worldwide, and with such a large ensemble cast, we receive an enormous amount of fan mail," says Stephanie Cohen, Director of Communications for Degrassi producer, Epitome Pictures. "The questions we hear are all over the place, but every fan seems to want to hear what the actors have to say; to hear about what's going on in their personal lives, what they enjoy and what bugs them, and what their plans are. The Degrassi Podcasts are another way for fans to connect with the talented people who make the show happen in a relaxed, unscripted format."


With fans still reeling from the death of Degrassi's J.T. Yorke, the second installment of the Degrassi Podcasts (scheduled for early Februrary) is a definite must-listen. Sarah Barrable-Tishauer joins Ryan Cooley to reflect upon their time together as Degrassi's sweetest couple, have spirited debates over movies and music, and tell us all about what they'll be doing now that Season 6 has finished production , and for Ryan what life will be like now that, for him, Degrassi is over.


The third Podcast, due at the end of February, is a roundtable gabfest with Deanna Casaluce, Shane Kippel, and Aubrey Graham providing the entertainment. What was their reaction when they first saw themselves drawn as comic book characters in Degrassi: Extra Credit? Ever wonder what television show Shane would like to be a part of, if he weren't so busy being Spinner? And just who is hip- hop artist Drake, anyway?


As the interview series moves along and production on Degrassi's seventh season ramps up, the Podcasts will include some of the show's writers and producers as guests. Listeners will find out how plotlines are developed, hear about the real challenges of working with such a large cast, and find out more about the most popular school on television.

I just listened to Sarah and Ryan and I have to say I totally LOVE both of them now.....

supposed to put new ones twice a month, but its been over a monthsince they posted the Deanna/Shane/Aubery ine SO WHERES A NEW ONE! lol they only did 3

has anyone seen a "dont you want me" preview yet? i'm dying to know how all this will end. too bad they broke up the ep into two part. again, degrassi should be an hour long show following the grand tradition of such fantastic teen drama as 90210, dawson's creek, one tree hill, the OC...all good dramas need an hour
