6/5/2006 - The N To Air Season 6 First?



Today CTV made many announcements regarding it's upcoming 2006 Fall season. Included were quite a few large announcements. The first being Degrassi's 6th season will not start this fall on CTV as usual instead it will be a mid-season replacement for "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday night once it wraps up. To make up for the late start CTV will air 2 episodes each Tuesday night so it should wrap up close to the same time as always. The last couple years dancing with the stars has lasted about 8 weeks meaning Degrassi most likely wouldn't pick up on CTV until after the holiday season. The question that remains to be seen is if The N will still begin airing season 6 in the Fall as usual. If they do the The N will not only start airing Season 6 before CTV for the first time ever, but the season will be half over by the time CTV begins airing it.

yeah i read that too! that would be frickin' cool. at least i won't have to wait until it's on youtube.com to watch. that would be so good for us!

great for us, yes...but it sucks. i guess it's just the principal of it all...it's a canadian show and it should air their first. that's the way it should be
OH and if the N edits, I'll shoot them. Can you imagine us americans uploading eps for the canadians only for them to eventually find out their watching edits? And then they are gonna have to turn around and re-upload everything for us. That's more work, lol!

you got a point right there! i wonder is the network in canada tried of degrassi and messing with their time slot on purpose. true, the-n loves editing and showing us half a$$ed stuff sometimes.

but remember, they loove tearing seasons up in half (like they did with season 5) maybe they'll do the same to this season and CTV won't be left behind so much, not to mention the-n also loves putting 2 week gaps between one episode and the other...

but i agree, it will be a lil ackward we seeing the season first than the canadiens...i think it's a bit unfair.

I don't think The-N will air them before CTV only because they know that The-N edit out anything that they think is "bad". You can notice a number things edited out with The-N if you download the CTV version of an episode.

It's not fair at all! September is too far from now, and then we'll have to wait until december/january!??? but what the f*ck!!!???

And if the-n air season 6 1st, it'd sucks for us, Canadians! It's the first time we actually own a good show that plays internationally (at least in my opinion)!!!!

Why don't they replace another stupid by Degrassi to air it in September? There's tons of new shows that could wait until December/January! But not Degrassi!!

Yea but CTV will catch up and end the season(or series) before the N ends it.

yes finally we get to see degrassi before canada but i dont think that canada will catch up to us cause they only air it once a week like we do so we will be ahead of them

Canada will be airing them twice a week.

why can't they just air at the same time? So nobody will be lost except for the French kids. They're speaking english in both right?

that's awesome if they air on the n first, but still I like downloading them on the internet

Degrassi's slot is taken until November so that have to push the season back.
