| Drank to much Mountain Dew | YYYAAAAAAARRRRRGHH I was working in flash, doing some really, REALLY boring work and suddenly flash decides to crash. Of course had not saved in two hours and I just found out that flash has no autosave feature. Now I am in a real bad mood ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| No, Window$ doesn't have ahome, thats why Billy G tried to persuade us to spend our hard-earned $$$ on Window$, it's a charity, a very greedy charity, and i havent seen the good works of this charity. So i now use an OS that isn't a charity, that doesn't try to trick me out of money by crashing, re-booting etc. I use Mac OS X, and Linux. PS: Quote:

| Commentator | I enjoyed answering yes to: "Are you sure you want to format the drive: "WINDOWS" to linux ext3?" I have never looked back. We need more developers to start using linux' version of .msi - .deb. installs and the like are what scare Joe Regular User from breaking the *ahem* Windows to his prison and installing open source. |

![]() But anyway, there are lots of DEBs out there, and sites like GetDeb - Ubuntu Software Portal - More applications, easy to install that carry them, but it isn't really a solution. The software provider will still have to make packages for OpenSUSE, UBuntu(and possibly Debian too), Mandriva, Fedora, Slackware, and possibly others. Not really a solution :/ Ah well,... | The Coding Wraith | I say we blame Windows and anything that runs on it. Because Windows starts the problem and then concomitant software developers continue it by making things that run only on Windows. Sorry to hear about the lost work, I have had similar things happen before. Good luck. |

And come to think of it, a number of Microsoft products, like OneNote, have auto-save enabled by default. Maybe they aren't so evil after all.

![]() Anyway, Microsoft is coming with its own Flash replacement ; Silverlight. The great thing is, the Mono team is making an OFFICIAL port for Linux, so whoever wins,Flash or Silverlight, it doesn't matter (Both Adobe and Microsoft are too evil)Extreme Coder

| Microsoft and Adobe are companies. All companies are like that. It's not evil it's business. The government is voted into power to preserve the interest of their voters. Companies are created to make money for their shareholders. When the interests of the shareholders conflict with the interests of the people then we've got a problem. That's where law and government should come to the aid of the people and protect their interests. |
