It's a shame when people imitate products, rather than using their creativity (and what appears to be skill) to create something different, new and fresh. | |

| Devils advocate | why use vixta when you can use a good looking linux distribution? go on kde-look.org and find something with a bit more style (a mac theme would be a bit better) |

| Less than 3 miles from the sea | I hear a lot about "How Great Mac OS" is. Well it should be good seeing as they precisely what hardware it's going to run on!?! How good would Windows or Linux be if the dev's knew that there was only one possible hardware configuration that it would be running on before they wrote it? How light and fast would they be? If Leopard was rubbish it would be a great surprise because all they have to do is make the GUI good! It can be optimized and tweaked to their harts content to get the most out of the hardware... How good would OSX be if they were to make it run on all i86 PC's? To think of the task any OS has to run on the PC, it's monumental! I believe that the OSS has a better chance of getting it right, more of the time. It's distributed model better adapts to the multiverse that is the PC... It's diverse user base and their requirements and the multitude of possible hardware configurations. Getting your PC to just start, given what's in my box isn't the same as in your box is an awesome achievement! |
