well, although it is very limited, i use paint quite a bit! Print Screen pasting and such..

I WISH windows had a " I WILL RESTART WHEN IM DAMN WELL READY BUTTON! " Man that drives me crazy, almost as much as active X or regedit.

Notepad++ is one of the best editors I've ever used... much better than anything else except maybe UltraEdit for editing large files (+200 mb).

Okay, Irfan View seems complicated for me. I will try WinAmp.

Paint.NET is a pretty decent image editor, although you'll need some version of the .NET Framework.

I guess most if not all programs we use in Windows has an equal or equivalent in both Linux and Mac. There will always be a handful of proprietary programs that are found lacking in the Linux world. However good The Gimp is it's not Photoshop. Gimp is good enough for what I need it for but I know some people that have found it lacking and will stick to Photoshop.

My only reason for keeping Windows around is my love of FPS gaming.

So if I were to recommend a Windows only program it would be the games that are made for it, like Battlefield:2

Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements
Dreamweaver
PHPEdit
Poser
WS_FTP Pro
Absolut Telnet

These are the main reasons my last conversion to Linux failed - I simply could not find anything comparable on the Linux platform so was constantly switching between 2 computers or dual-booting (both of which became very old very fast).

Some other major apps that I use a lot but did not cause problems when switching to Linux - Thunderbird, Office

Back in the day, when windows was something called 98se, the best software was photoshop. But the best function by far, was ctrl+alt+delete

Now a days i won't touch any ms app. with a ten feet pole.

Edit: REGEDIT was quite the command too
