Well, think of it like that. With broadbrand net, you can hang out on these forums a lot, with a lesser speed, you would spend lesser time on the net. Maybe.

Some of you have really nice connection speeds, I'm stuck on 4mbit down and 128kbit up, which is still NZ$50/month, that and it's "managed" which basically translates into all traffic except pop3, imap or ftp is slowed down, so I rarely see anything close to 4mbit. Can't wait till VDSL2 is rolled out, supposed to be this year, but that would allow for 250mbit at the exchange ![]()

I always laugh at how cheap and fast broadband is in Europe and how shitty and expensive it is in the US...complete shit government and greedy corporations for the win! ![]() I get 10Mbps/~1.5Mbps up for $60/month from Roadrunner. But at least Roadrunner doesn't forward any of those bullshit nastygrams from RIAA/MPAA to its customers like Cox and some others do.

I pay $46 monthly and I don't get anywhere near that speed. $5 of it is for a static IP address, but the ISP blocks port 25 ingoing and outgoing, which is an inconvenience. ATT/Yahoo offers the same service (but only dynamic IP address) for less money and they don't block port 25 incoming, only outgoing.

| Eligible for a custom title | Jeezie Creezie... I feel so inadequate... AGAIN. I shall go bury myself in the backyard now. ![]() At least it feels like something constructive, versus the waiting for the promised DSL. |
