| You can't have more than 10 options on those polls. If the distro is not in the list, choose 'Others' and specify in the thread. |

| From 2000 to 2003 i've used Debian, Red Hat & Suse alongside Win2k Fron 2003 to 2006 i've used Gentoo exclusively At the end of 2006 i've switched to Ubuntu because i was annoyed at the time it took my system to do a simple emerge sync (=apt-get update) |

| My attempt to leave windows goes back to Mandrake before it became Mandriva and includes Xandros as well as . IMHO, uneducated as it is, with the exception of Ubuntu, the other distros are too bloated and convoluted and not for the beginner to learn on especially if you are teaching yourself (as I am now) and your only resources are forums and any books you can find. |

| A whole bunch. When I was first introduced to Linux, I played with SLS for a bit (yep, I've used Linux before Linux was cool), then used a very early version of Slackware. After that, I used Red Hat and its variants for a while, then switched to Debian, which I used until I switched to Ubuntu, which I use today. In work environments, I've been exposed to RHEL and SLES distros, as well as Mandrake and SUSE Desktop Linux. You might say I've been around the block a few times. |

| Eligible for a custom title | I started with Red Hat (5, I think) and later on Fedora, tried SuSe and Mandrake but stayed at Red Hat. Later on I used Gentoo for a while and tried out Slackware which was too much for me. I tried Ubuntu (think 5.04 or so) and Debian. In the amount of time, Ubuntu certainly takes the biggest part. |

| I've tried everything on the list except Slackware and PCLinuxOS. I've also tried Arch, Mepis, BLAG, Freespire, Yoper, PC-BSD, FreeBSD and OpenBSD (I know, BSD |= Linux), as well as a few small distros that I can't recall the names of. |

| Commentator | I bought Mandrake 3.(SOMETHING) at wal-mart WAY back in the day. Then I messed around with Redhat, Slackware, and Gentoo while learning linux but didn't become a strict user until Fedora. Started using ubuntu at warty. |
