| Commentator | Hey everyone im trying not to let my self move back to windows because i have few avi files that i wanna burn on to dvd, when in windows i used WINAVI n then nero, is there any other way of doing this but in linux Hope some one out there can help me ![]() P.S Dont let me down guys + girls xD lol... |

| I'm sure you're after a GUI method(if you're not, then check for mencoder and ffmpeg), if so I'd highly suggest VLC. It's a cross-platform media player that supports every format you can think of, without any codecs needed for installation(it can also play damaged or partially downloaded files!) Plus, it doubles as a media converter. When you install it on whatever distro you're using(You're using Ubuntu, right? If so, install vlc from synaptic), run it, click on File, then Wizard. Choose Transcode, and then follow instructions from here ![]() Hope this helped, Extreme Coder |

| Yeah sure, I will help ![]() Go to System -> Adminstration -> Software Sources. Put a check in all the checkboxes. Then go the "Internet Updates" tab, and choose all of the 4 types of updates, except for proposed updates. Try this, and tell me how it works. Hope this helped, Extreme Coder |
