| 3 major players: 1. Foresight 2. Oz 3. rPath All 3 relatively new to the Linux OS scene, what are your thoughts, have you had a chance to try any of the 3? Have you had a chance to try Conary or raa (rPathapplianceagent)? |

| Haven't tried it yet myself, I looked at the documentation for Conary a while ago (before the rBuilder online service), and was a bit overwhelmed. It looks really powerful though, and could rock if the tools are good. FWIW, I think that OpenFiler NAS distro is now built with the rPath system (they previously used CentOS). |

| Be gentle, newcomer | I used foresight a while ago and it gave a good impression, but in the end I came crawling back to the apt I know and love. If I remember, the released on something like one and a quarter cds, which I thought was strange. My main problem was getting used to Conary. I tend to test distros until I find one worthy of replacing the one I'm currently using. I guess it just wasn't worthy of replacing Debian. |
