| After having our normal drive home from school, and during the usual conversation of 'so what did you do in school today?', 'did you have a good day', etc, etc, etc... My 4 year old brought about my newest post...With all their innocence, what have you been told by a child/children, yours or otherwise that made you mutter the saying, 'out of the mouthes of babes' or a simple, 'hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm'? As for mine, todays mutter was after asking my daughter what she did in school today, her reply - I learnted ('learn-did' was pretty much what it sounded like) from my teacher little stuff. I also had the privilage of a serious moment of 'hmmmmmmmmmm' with my oldest son, who is now 18 and has rightfully grasped the full concept of life and death, so to speak. His moment consisted of, 'If Elvis weren't dead he'd be alive now'. |

| Hey puter.. wish I could say out of the mouth of babes was as enlightening as your experience...then it would not burn in my memory and stick as a thorn like it does. About a year before I left my first husband...my children and myself were on our way back home after a two week dismissal of absence due to an outrageous cowardly act on the part of my ex..( wont go into detail ) as we were working through the present issue in hopes for some kind of positive resolve..my daughter spoke up and said.. Why do you keep going back to him...he just keeps doing the same thing over and over to you.. WOW..that cut me like a knife...she was 7...man cant tell you what that did to me. Needless to say,..I set a short term goal up to see if I had covered everything possible to make sure the marriage would survive before I truly and once and for all made my exit...with-in 6 months its was inevitable..thus the departure was activated..sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways..for mothers it can surely come through the thoughts of a child because of the natural bonding between the child and their mother.. | sorry to hear it wasn't the greatest experience with 'out of the mouthes of babes' for you. I've had my own not so great moments, but im thankful enough to say that the really good ones that remind how truly innocent my kids are, far out-weigh the ones that hurt. Unfortunately there are alot of issues that you don't realize your children remember or see when they're that young, but believe you me, they see and understand sooooooooo much more than you think. |

| Hey Puter, thanks on this...I think my melancholy spirit gets the best of me at times...but tis true what you say when the good outweighs the bad, and now I am enlightened many times with new adventures with my grand-daughter..the apple of my eye.. As one would say I wish I knew then what I know now...but my children tell me I did a very good job with them, but, as a mother we always look to see we could have done more.. That new lil grand-daughter of mine is a hoot!!! Sherri |
