Default Muscles - Tuners - Exotics

If you had a chance to get one car [be it any car you wanted], which category would you choose from: muscle cars, tuner cars, or exotic cars and why?

Hemicuda.

Is that a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda with a 426 Hemi option on it?

Yep. If I could have any car, that would be it.

That's a nice car. Did you know that they go for 2 million or more each?

Yeah, I'll never own one unless I build a kit, I'm sure. I first saw one in the movie Phantasm, when I was younger.

I'm not sure I know what a tuner is. If I had to pick from your choices, I'd go with a nicely restored 1968 Camero. But really, I'm most happy with a sensible sedan.

I don't know anything about the 1968 Camero. I might have to go look it up. Tuners are the more modern cars you see on the road [or in video games and movies]. They're usually the ones with the aftermarket body kits, paint jobs, and [their most common trait] NOS. I don't know how to describe it anymore than that but I can find links to some pictures if you want.

I get the picture on the tuners.

Really, I'm happy with the car I have tho. Cars don't interest me that much. So long as they get me from A to B in sufficient comfort and the radio/CD player work, I'm good.

I know what you mean. I have a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier and it doesn't really have reasonable comfort but it gets me from A to B. It looks like this:

What kind of car do you have?

I drive a 2002 F150

The wife drives a 2001 Ford Taurus

We've had lots of problems with the Taurus. It was a good deal, and we needed something immediately, but if I'd had more time to look, I'd have got something more reliable.

What kind of problems have you been having with the Taurus? I'm not really into Fords that much so I haven't kept up with them.

The water pump disengrated on the highway, causing the car to severely over-heat. I had to replace both of the aluminum (junk) heads, the water pump, and various other minor parts; +$2,000 for the repair. I'm on my 3rd A/C compressor; a +$600 repair each time. The power steering pump is going bad; don't know what that will cost. The tensor pulley is going bad; that's a cheap thing to fix I can do myself.

All that, and it has less than 90,000 miles. It's a combination of poor design and sub-standard parts, IMO.

Ok, before the collapse of my first marriage I was finally able to get the vehicle I always dreamed of, 1968 chevrolet pick up truck, step side short bed, 2 door, 283 engine, metallic blue, moon roof, it was the greatest...I paid at the time back in 1992 $4,900, now I see them for an easy $12, 000, had to sell it on account of taking care of my children and being single. I originally bought it to pull a one horse trailer to go and ride at horse shows. If I could figure out how to attach a file I would send a pic, so if someone can detail that info for me I will send it. Tried several times and no luck. That was my baby and my kids and me went to the horse shows often...didnt know the marriage was going to crash...oh well.

Sherri,
You could use an image hosting service like: ImageShack. You upload a picture to them and they'll give you a URL to post within your forum post. That's the best I can do.

Hey Fortuna, thank you on this...I checked that out...I really dont have any other scource like that going that the site offers... I have a giant basket of pictures in my living room, one picture is in there with me and my kids in my chevy...and let me tell you its a search to the finish in that basket. The other I have on my computer desktop...its of my chevy and my son back in 93...heck I would post it on my site but my son is 26 now and he would kill me, he-he. Maybe this site will change that action someday and open up the image loader for personal computers...I found one on the net like it but it was ugly and unfavorable to use so I voided that action...
