It had one positive attribute. It was easy and cheap to repair, often.

I really wanted a used Mustang for almost $1000 less, but was dissuaded from getting a used car. Bad call!

My first car was a Comet, baby blue. My sister sold it to me as part of hush money for not telling on her for sneaking out to see her boyfriend at the time, originally she wanted $1000, but ....Little did i know, thinking I was all that and a bag of dorito's for con-ing her out of a car for only $10.00, was that she had just gotten the approval to purchase another car, a Chevy Nova! Man did that baby fly!

I think my cousin however, for first cars has alot of people beat! it was a Yugo! hee hee...

Well, for what it's worth, the 70's were a mechanics nightmare/dream depending on whether or not you were in the auto repair field. I had lots of fun with almost all cars back then. They were fun to work on.

not quite sure on the year for the nova, and the comet, well, yes she was cute, but as i was trying to be a badass at the time, well, just couldn't pull it off...then I got my baby of all babies, 86 Monte Carlo SS...oh yeah....fun times, but now, fun times still, but in a Taurus, granted she doesn't do corners like on rails, but she does just fine otherwise.

Yes, the 86 Monte Carlo SS was a nice car. The Taurus was Fords saviour at one time. Not a bad car. Glad you like yours.

I tell people it was a 1989 Ford Laser from the Mazda factory... but only because I'm too ashamed that my parents gave me a 1978 Morris Marina stationwagon about ten years before that, lol (in spite of me insisting I really, really didn't want it).

1994 Saturn. Great car. Had lots of good times in it. Once I had an accident with a Camaro, the Camaro needed $1500 worth of repairs the Saturn only needed $20 bucks worth of touch-up paint. This woman side swiped me and the door just dented inwards and straightened back out. The Camaro wasn't so lucky. The only problem was that despite taking very good care of it, after 5 years it began dying on me, a year later I was lucky to be able to sell it.

The only picture I could find was of a model... Plenty of pictures of the sports versions, like the Mexico. I wish...

What year did they make those cars?

Wow, great subject, I had a 77 Ford LTD, all electric, soft toned down green color, had a 350 or 351 engine, really I dont remember. Interior was a light green color as well, material of course. I do remember the insurance though, killer, $40.00, full coverage monthly...but the car was like a cadillac, boy that was the day, he-he...

92 Saturn SC1. Got it in 2002 and traded it in in 06 for a 95 Firebird.

I hope to be one of the first in line for a Chevy Volt in 2010. Can't wait to get an electric car, but the Tesla Roadster came out a bit too early. I think battery technology will advance enough by 2010 that the "miles-per-charge" will increase enough to compete with internal combustion engines as well as the "time-to-recharge" decreasing.
