I think there may be different types of digital transmission between here and the US - so can't be sure that here applies to there, but you can, in theory, use rabbit ears to pick up digital here. However, there are more effective types of indoor antennas these days than the old fashioned 'rabbit ears' which most people prefer (including some with built in signal boosters), which may be why one doesn't see rabbit ear style ones much any more. Search on ebay for indoor antennas maybe to get an overview of whats available.
