I can see that it would be a bit of a desk space saver (though personally I put the 'box' of my computer under the desk and it stays completely out of the way there anyway), but surely while your 'all-in-one' is less stealable than a laptop, it a whole lot more stealable than a desktop.
Just a side comment - everything I hear about the US College system sounds like the vast majority of students live on campus. Here is Australia its quite the opposite - while there are a few on-campus placements at the biggest Universities, the vast majority of people live off-campus either in their own accommodation, or just stay at home at their parents' home, commuting to school each day. Their is no such thing as fraternities/sororities here at all.
