check out lexmark, I think most are ubuntu friendly and I had one that Was the simplest cheapest printer on the market, worked perfect with ubuntu. I suggest lexmark because they are cheap to refill i believe. Be careful tho, some are just giant plastic turds so check out CNET.com, i usually do for the things i buy, not sure how good they do with printers tho.
