Yes, potassium is a great thing to have. It regulates heart beat, blood pressure, etc. Also keeps your muscles from cramping and keeps you from dying from dehydration. (As in, maybe you have enough water and probably sodium, but lacking other electrolytes.)
Electrolytes may not boost energy per se, but they sure help prevent fatigue.
