The DVD thing isn't an issue for me. Most people have a DVD player already - the Wii's would be redundant. Besides, if it weren't for the things Nintendo left out, the price would be much higher.

To clarify, this and the above "in the end" point both apply to all consoles, not just to the Wii. If video games in general just don't "click" with you, then you won't be playing any console. [emphasis mine] Again, that doesn't make the Wii any less because of it.

Whoever said easy-to-play, hard-to-master games weren't fun? The Wii brings intuitive games to everyone, but that doesn't mean they will be easier to beat.
That was kind of my point. The Wii has some great games out now and will undoubtedly be seeing many more in the near future. But if you're really not into games in general, I just don't see how a different kind of controller is going to hold your interest beyond a passing fancy.

Please don't get me wrong here, I love that it's inexpensive and it doesn't have multiple functions that it doesn't need to have to be a game console. But for the average non-gamer, there's no reason to get one aside from the new and different controller. And my argument here is that a different kind of controller may initially sell more consoles but it's not going to hold the attention of someone that just isn't into games as a form of entertainment.
