I'd say Jrock pretty much equals Jpop. Jpop is just a term for "Japanese music", in a Japanese music store you won't find a Jrock section (atleast not in the ones I've been in), and stuff like Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer and Gazette vill stand next to Koda Kumi, Morning Musume and Ayumi Hamasaki.
