Calling all spinal bone marrow donors in the United Kingdom to update their contact details
Hello everybody, a work colleague of mine here in Spain has a close friend who is suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. The problem is that after treatment the illness returned and they are trying to locate a compatible donor in the UK.
Could you please post the following letter on your forums/bloggs/webs and even email it to anybody you know in the UK so that it may help sergio to find a donor.

I'm making and urgent call to all of you because I am suffering an illness
known as ACUTE MYELOID LEUKAEMIA. I am a member of the REDMO donation
Centre (Registro Español de Donantes de Medula Ósea de la Fundación Josep
Carreras ? Spanish Register of bone marrow donors of the Josep Carreras
Foundation). No one in my family is a compatible donor with me so I
desperately undertook an autotransplant a month ago. Unfortunately, this
procedure was not successful and the illness has reappeared. Now I am going
through a new stage of chemotherapy and hoping to find a compatible donor
to proceed with a new transplant. The Josep Carreras Foundation knows of a
compatible donor located in the United Kingdom but cannot contact this
person possibly due to a change of address?
If you are a bone marrow donor or possible donor or you know someone that
is a donor, please, reach or kindly ask him to reach the Anthony Nolan
Trust Centre (phone number: +442072841234) or your nearest donation centre
in the UK to update your contact details. With this act you could save a
life, maybe my life.
Anybody that has sadly experienced this kind of terrible illness knows what
a desperate situation my family and I are currently suffering. I am 32
years old and have my whole life ahead of me. My wife and I had plans of
starting a family and living a long life together. This is why we are
contacting you, calling for help, and relying on your good hearted
kindness.
This is very URGENT and IMPORTANT. All spinal bone marrow donors, please,
reach your nearest donation centre and update your personal contact
information if they have changed. This way my centre in Spain will be able
to contact you as soon as possible.
I want to thank you all and I have the fervent hope that all our efforts
will not be in vain and that this battle will be won.
