No, I don't know that. UFO sightings occur everywhere, including in broad daylight over cities with thousands of witnesses.

Your question conveys an ignorance I cannot begin to address. That's not an insult - just my perspective. My suggestion is to lay down your "skepticism" and listen to what people are reporting, and have been for decades. Not just common people (by the millions), but pilots, military personnel, and other trained observers. And not just faraway craft in the sky, but face to face contact with extraterrestrials (again, everywhere in the world). Then later you can pick up your skepticism again and see what explanation truly makes the most sense.

Right now you are one of many people who get their information from very limited sources, so your perspective and conclusions are very limited.

I think it much more likely that the U.S. government has done undisclosed flight experiments than that aliens are here.
A seriously flawed theory, which fails to explain even a small fraction of the data. But there's not much point in discussing it here. We simply come from two different worlds. From my perspective, you subscribe to a culture of denial (perhaps without realizing it). You exist in a bubble that limits your information and dismisses anything which is officially denied.

Ockham's razor.
Actually, applying Ockham's razor would yield a very simple result: the reported experiences are exactly what they appear to be - other-worldly beings. That is by far the simplest and most self-coherent explanation. The deniers go to great and complex lengths to maintain denial, all the while claiming they are honoring Ockham's razor.

Frankly, it's startling to me that with what has been reported and investigated on this planet, people still manage to deny it. And not just any people, but relatively intelligent people. In fact, it seems the "intelligent" people have the greatest problem seeing the obvious in this and other areas. Most "common" people have an intuitive sense of the truth of these things, without even knowing many details. (That's not to say there aren't some extremely brilliant people working on this question without denying it - I'm merely speaking of general trends.)

I shall have to make a study of human denial. It is remarkably powerful.

At any rate, most contactees report that the 'visitors' will make their presence more known as time goes on (and that in fact appears to be happening). You would do well to get informed before that happens. The danger is that when official denial no longer works, it will turn into official misinformation. The powers that be will frame the visitors as malevolent even where they are not. If you continue to believe their stories, you will miss a great opportunity (and are already missing it).

They offer a new world... if you can take it.
