I apologise for having a sound knowledge of simple medicine. It would be stupid to let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory, huh?

The federal government has no fiscal incentive to ensure the continued legality of aspartame in New Mexico. There are many alternatives to aspartame (Splenda, for example). If you think that the State of New Mexico is still being poisoned by aspartame so that whichever corporation that produces it can continue to do so, you're being naive.
Tell me, how do you think the tobacco and alcohol beverage industries should be legally moderated? I'm sure more people die from small-cell lung cancer or a road accident involving a drunk driver than aspartame-related deaths each year.

Free enterprise. People chose what to put through their bodies, and if it kills them, tough luck for them. There are warning labels on packets of cigarettes; if you ignore them, start/continue smoking and then contract cancer, you'll be getting no sympathy from me.

Absolutely. But I, unlike you, feel no compulsion to blame every injustice in the world on the government.
