I consider this Darwinism at it's best though. If you are dumb enough to pollute your body then you deserve what you get. Nobody is forcing us to drink the city water so I am not that worried about it... for myself at least.
I think it is bad for us... but not to the extreme. Sort of similar to how in europe they install ozone systems in the pools instead of using chlorine... because chlorine is another chemical that is bad and irritating (although i wouldn't say outright lethal) . It is just better to get rid of this stuff because there are simple and better alternatives (like no fluoride) . |
I would say you understate the health consequences, cancers among them. These are cumulative and long-term effects. There are reasons for the growing cancers and diseases in the modern world. There are reasons for why people have organs removed on a regular basis. It's not just 'the way it is'.
This also affects the entire culture, not merely the people drinking the fluoride. The health costs and damage are shared by all. Children are fed this by unwitting parents before they have the wisdom to make their own choices.
But I have no simple solution to the denial and ignorance. It is so pervasive it is mind-boggling. People will argue to be poisoned - anything to continue believing in their authorities. Avoids having to think for themselves. So to some extent, it must simply run its course. Consequences eventually assert themselves, but it is a painful and slow way to learn a simple lesson which is directly observable.
