As is almost every drug used in medicine today. When was the last time you declined medical treatment due to that?
Hell, forget fluoride. Even consuming water in a large enough volume will kill you.

There is no magical chemical called "fluoride." Chemistry 101: a fluoride is simply a compound which contains the element fluorine (similar to chlorine and iodine, note the ending -ine on the names).
Not all fluorides are toxic. The sodium fluoride usually included in toothpaste is toxic, but only in relatively high quantities - levels of fluoride in toothpaste is measured in PPM, parts per
million. You'd need to swallow a truck-load of toothpaste to kill yourself - the shear volume would kill you before the fluoride toxicity would.
