| Re: What Do You Do? 1. What do you do for a living?
Perpetual student/research assistant. Almost finished undergrad in biomedical engineering with a focus on signal processing and imaging technologies, planning on grad school for fall '08. 2. Do you enjoy it?
Yep. 3. Why, or why not?
I spend most of the day thinking and problem solving. I have the freedom to experiment with different things and try things that nobody's done before. I also have flexible hours and great coworkers that I can bounce ideas off of. 4. What are some of the positives to your job? Negatives?
Positives: See #3. Negatives: sometimes it can be really frustrating when things just aren't working. Sometimes I'll spend a week, or two weeks, or a month, working on a method that just turns out not to work. But really, it isn't wasted time, because I'm always learning. That's probably the biggest positive. 5. What is your personality?
I'm fairly outgoing, straightforward, cynical, I like to try new things, I can't stick to a routine, and I love to argue. 6. What subjects did you like in school, which ones did you dislike?
I liked maths and sciences, as well as English, French, music, and drama, but not history or gym. |
