For a novel that's based on a movie that's based on a short story, Johnny Mnemonic is almost readable. In a similar vein, Piers Anthony's version of Total Recall is entertaining as well.

Heinlein's Friday doesn't have programming and hacking, but it does star a cyborg who is a secret courier. Like most Heinlein though, be prepared for weird sex scenes.
